I think folks have a stigma about SFX PSUs but the current crop from Corsair, CM, etc, are solid. I'm running an 850w unit with a 3080Ti and it works just fine. That said, I'm sure Lian Li will release a Mini v2 with ATX PSU support in the next few months.
you right. my complains is, Is feet heigh enough for correct gpu airflow?, if you are using tower cooler at cpu, why not rear mesh? to setup rear intake. rear intake and flipped fans on the cpu cooler, prevents reflow. front intake with top mesh, makes most of the air from front to go outside before reaching the cpu. and cpu fans reflowing some of his own warm air. they should have made bottom simetrical to top, same design, and allow to move feet, from "bottom" to "top" so you can rotate the case, and make the gpu intake on top allowing maximum intake for it.
@@MrDvneil you could always use both front/side intakes which would force so much air in that it simply forces air out everywhere, I would also likely not put output on the front top slot.
@@GearSeekers I get that, but at the same time I wouldn't buy a tiny car and be surprised it can't have a V8. Though they should update the o11 mini to support atx psu for the water cooling people.
I feel like making this slightly longer to accommodate a 360mm radiator would make this the perfect multipurpose case. It can accommodate all motherboards, all PSUs, tons of cooling, the biggest air coolers etc
Ehhh nah... I bought this case specifically because its 2cm shorter than the previous one, it fits my length needs perfectly... well, tbh I would like it to be even shorter haha, but yeah 2cm longer and I would not have bought this case.
Lian Li should just re-release the mini that can support an ATX power supply. The rest can stay the same, if not include an offset bracket for allowing top 360 AIO support without zip ties or a custom mod. I'll skip on the Air mini, missing out on rad support is a no-go.
yeah, it's crazy that everytime they add something, they take something else. if we can have a small case that can support atx psu, noctua fat coolers, high airflow, "better gpu thermals", and thinner bezels of the glass to make the insides like a bit roomer and better, 3 fans on top and 3 fans the bottom, i'm sold on it right now...
I love how all the water cooling bros are hating in this case because it’s hard to fit rads, and all the air cooling bros are fawning over this because it’s this small and can fit a D15 or an Ice Giant
My favorite part of this case is the dust filter at the bottom. Weird I know but I wish more manufacturers would do it like that. My P600s you have to get up and walk around to the back of the pc and slide the filter out of bottom in the back to clean it for the psu.
In some ways this is a great case, because it's small but still "full size" in every way. You can take an ATX case with fullsize PSU and air-cool it, which I think is the most common real-world scenario, with positive airflow and the chimney layout, it's definitely one to be copied. I wish they'd actually go the other way and do a "micro" version of this, where the height is mATX, with SFX-L PSU support, and you can do ITX with watercooling. If you made it 2cm longer than this case it opens everything up even more for RAID + big GPU setups in a very compact chassis.
*The below CHANGES need to be made,* and the case would STILL be small, but it would be more versatile. *1.* Should have just made it "slightly" LONGER so we can fit 140mm Fans on the side, little more space for graphics card and Front Radiator, as well as 3 140mm Fans for the Bottom and Top. *2.* Should have made it just a "little" TALLER so we can fit radiator at the Bottom or Top with an ATX MB. *3.* Should have made the Hard Drive Bay "removable", and also made more areas in which we can mount drives and/or Controllers.
Another draw back is that you cannot access the motherboard backplate.... meaning it is not possible for swapping cooler unless you tear your build apart...

Nice video, thank you. Agree with you - if they had made it 20mm longer it would be possible to easily mount a 360 on top, a 280 on side and also a bigger GPU in. Why they are struggling always on such small things…
No offense to all other reviewers out there but whenever I see there's an embargo lifted I immediately check your channel for your awesome b-roll footage. The only thing I wanted them to do the ONLY thing was to support a 360mm Rad with ATX support. That's what I was waiting on. The length change also makes that impossible. So dissappointed. All they had to do is support the radiator offset forward..that's it. Having said that this is the exact build I was planning. Gigabyte x570 Aero, Vision RTX 3080Ti..etc.
I don't mind the design decision to make the case shorter, it is meant to be "mini" after all. I hope Lian Li makes a v2 of their regular O11 Mini based off this chassis! Having to use a SFX PSU is what put me off the original O11 Mini...
Quick question from a noob, why so much hate on SFX PSUs? Like they only are smaller than ATX, is there something that I'm missing? If you go for the case you just buy an sfx
Please, answer to me... I bought Seasonic PX-1600 and its 21cm long PSU! O11 Air Mini specs said it supoorts 20cm PSUs... My question is will my 21cm PSU fit in this case? I dont need HDD upper bracket!
Just skip the rear exhaust fan to mount a 360mm rad on top. Wouldn't it fit that way? Lots of people already do that with the O11 Mini. It's really a case meant for 5/3 slot configuration with MATX/ITX Motherboards. Or...could the offset kit fit the original O11 Mini? Even better then.
If I was going to build a new system today, I would simply build in o11-Dynamic Evo with front mesh. The size difference is so minimal for the extra breathing room.
This guy is spot on I’m building one now and if they would have made it 2cm longer the universe would open up because finally a case maker would have the grail of cases. Can someone start a petition or something to get Lian li to make this case slightly longer to accommodate 360mm AIO? It's so frustrating to see a perfect case for me but can't fit my AIO😩
This case would be perfect if they made the hard drive cage removable (such a weird step down from the original...) and make it literally 20mm longer. If they made it just a little longer it could fit 140s on the side, but more importantly it would fit 360 radiator on top, and 360 fans on bottom
built in this case about a year ago (10900k and 3090 build) and i found the thermals are pretty sick too even with a 240 mil aio (probably due to 8 fans lol)
Yeah, the ATX PSU being supported is why I will get this. I don't get the 2cm shorter part. Several case manufacturers has this problem. They make a small case that is just a tiny bit too small to what it could have fit an been so much more versatile. I get that you have to limit it at some point, but come on. Design the case, check fitment for regular things see how much is missing to make them fit, then change it if it's just a tiny bit different. Please!
I have a lian li 011 mini and i have a atx with a 360 rad and 3 fans mounted on top, only had to made two little brackets and push it to the side of the case. just have to make sure your ram isn't to tall.
I think people forget that this is an air variant... If you complain about options with radiators then you it's on you as you shouldn't be looking at this case.
Does lian li ever revise their other designs to have these quality if life features? Just wondering if I should be watching for changes in their old cases.
So normal thickness 240 aios do fit now in top with ATX, thats nice! Since its still above the Ram, i wonder if 280's would fit. or a Liquid freezer 240 with the offset brackets...
Why on earth would they make the case shorter... Lian Li please revise your case. Love the ATX PSU support but to get rid of the 360mm AIO support makes ZERO sense. This case could of been awesome but Meshlicious or NR200P Max it would be for me!
Thanks for doing this review. I thought this case was exactly the glass panel mini but with mesh front panel. Now I know its not. I was considering this for my next case only if it can water cool my cpu and gpu with a custom loop. I saw a few builds do it. But I didnt know if they were 240, or 280 radiators.. I guess they were 240 rads. Does "chimney" mean that all the fans are intakes on this case except the top fans? If thats correct, then shouldnt the front mesh panel also have a dust filter? The mesh is going to let in all the dust since mesh isnt going to keep dust out.. with a mesh panel like that you might as well not even use it and just take it off for how much dust is going to get in. Might as well buy a separate dust filter and macgyver it on the front of the case.
i think this a micro ATX case with optional ATX support, but not intended to be ATX foremost. Micro boards allow top mounted 280mm AIOs, just not enough for a PP config. Because the front mesh barely allows good views of any RGB fans, I decided to leave them in place while adding twin 140 SLs top and bottom. A nicer AIO would have saved me the cost of the top two SLs, but the EVGA fans aren't worth using. Top AIO (w/mATX) frees up yards of room for any card, but I suppose that's a pretty limited TOP SPEC, but worth considering since CPU heat will never be an issue while trying to expel video card heat from the case. That's the idea anyway, cheers and great stuff man, I love your channel!
“Air” in the case name doesn’t imply its for air cooling only, it means the case is airflow optimized, you need airflow for both liquid and regular air coolers, so saying it’s not for liquid cooling is incorrect, the case differs from the regular o11 mini by giving more options for air flow, rather than being a fish tank, hence the name o11 Air mini. So it is valid to criticize the lack of options given in the case to mount radiators as it could have been easily done.
wouldn't dust just accumulate because of the mesh front without a filter? the main reason why I considered the o11 mini is because of that bottom intake filter.
do you think a x570 velocita anda msi tri 3090 fit in it? I currfently have them in a coolermaster H500 mesh aircool case and its juuuuuuust a little too big for my taste and want a "smaller" case
Hello GS. Does this case support front 240mm radiator, with 280mm radiator on top and 2 140mm fans at the bottom? I saw from the Lian Li site there's no room for front radiator if both top and bottom 280mm radiators are installed, and 40mm thickness max for the front if both top and bottom 240mm radiators are installed. Not sure how's the clearance situation for my case.
you cant remove the HDD cage, which makes cable management very hard, the holes for air flow are too small. if they made this 2cm longer and had an option to remove drive cage/ larger air holes this would be king
I'm still not there myself, Love the case and size and would have gotten two of them if I could mount a 360 rad in top bracket and the feet were taller for lack of intake air flow the way it is. Not quite long enough to be AIO 360 water cooled or tall enough off the deck to be a good air cooled for GPU.
I don't care about AIO coolers, overkill fan configurations that only make the system noisier etc... 3 fan slots are enough. All I want is compact size, ATX mobo support, full size PSU, mesh front and good looks. This is the perfect case.
Excellent review - Thanks. I was disappointed that this case is not yet available for the normies. I just finished an obnoxious light show 011 mini white build and was ready to upgrade since I do air cooled builds. I'm glad that you actually did a comparison review. Other reviews I saw didn't do a comparo. I'm not so sure now.
I think the o11 air mini is mainly for air coolers if you want to build full atx motherboard. It can still do 280mm aio on top with matx motherboard so still good if you have a long gpu.
Hey boss, very late here..but wondering... I just got a 3070ti founders...and wanting to vertical mount the card with this case...what are your thoughts based on the airflow of the case, relative to the cards unique fan style ? Would be great if you could do a test, as I have not really seen any tests with the 30 series founders vertical mounting !
when i hear "air mini" i would assume that you would be air cooling the cpu, so no need for any rads. imo. i do know what you mean about the case wouldn't be for me if i would be using an aio. i would like to see if you can fit a large noctura or be quiet cooler in that case...
well, I think Lian-li reduced the length intentionally for the business matter. Because, if the 011 air mini can mount 360 aio, people will by the air mini for 360 aio and ATX psu rather than O11D mini.
Great vid n insight! I love how u can use a regular PSU which is why i would love to have this case! my only question is that i have a 280 mm rad; would that fit on the front with 120 or 140 mm fans on the side or would there be no room?
280 will fit in front with radiator but your video card size will determine that. The 240 side slot is receded so has no problems hitting 280 front fans
Anyone tries to put the radiator at the side with 2 fan directly aat the rad ofc. 2 front intake 3 bottom intake. top exhaust no rear exhaust. hows the perf ?? i have corsair 4000D but i want to change case.
Really weird, feel like they needed to make a "midi" with this cases width and a "mini" that went for all the smaller aspects. The mesh fronts could just be an option as it seems like you could integrate a system like the nr200p gives you both panels or just pick what you want in store. Hopefully they fix this but theyve kinda mixed themselves up a bit.
I was tossing up getting the mini, I was only holding out because of the sfx psu.

at the beginning of the video there was a built pc. I was just wondering what the the tubes in the pc?
I want this case with a class front panel, looks so clean
I have a lian li 011 mini and i have a atx with a 360 rad and 3 fans mounted on top, only had to made two little brackets and push it to the side of the case. just have to make sure your ram isn't to tall.
I think people forget that this is an air variant... If you complain about options with radiators then you it's on you as you shouldn't be looking at this case.
Does lian li ever revise their other designs to have these quality if life features? Just wondering if I should be watching for changes in their old cases.
Made it shorter so it's more suitable for air cooling rather than huge radiator support. Nothing wrong with that imo, for people most air is enough.
The case looks really nice, but I wish they kept the same look as the original mini
any update on when this is coming out in australia ? pc case gear had it but they pulled it down
We’re you able to connect all the fans to the L connect controller? Looks like you plugged something else into it
So normal thickness 240 aios do fit now in top with ATX, thats nice! Since its still above the Ram, i wonder if 280's would fit. or a Liquid freezer 240 with the offset brackets...
i hope you can remake this video with side to side comparison for the previous case and the new one
Why on earth would they make the case shorter... Lian Li please revise your case. Love the ATX PSU support but to get rid of the 360mm AIO support makes ZERO sense. This case could of been awesome but Meshlicious or NR200P Max it would be for me!
Awesome video fams, awesome coverage of the case
Lian Li has my attention and I get what you had said on both accounts!
can you put a 280mm rad on the side and have either 2x120 or 2x140 fans at the front?
dang it, they went the other direction for me. The O11 Mini needed to be thinner, not fatter (not fatshaming here).
Totally agree
Thinner? Then you lose the dual chamber design which is what this case is all about!
the idear is to slide the big part of the back of the case up and down
wouldn't be surprised if they update the regular mini to this chassis.
Seems like you can fit a 360 rad on top, ditch the rear fan, not needed. 280 in front, 240 in the side or bottom - seems really impressive
It won't fit. 3x120s barely fit.
Why not put the rad with fans on the side? And plenty of people have fit three 120’s up top.
Because the front mesh barely allows good views of any RGB fans,
I decided to leave them in place while adding twin 140 SLs top and bottom. A nicer AIO would have saved me the cost of the top two SLs,
but the EVGA fans aren't worth using.
Top AIO (w/mATX) frees up yards of room for any card, but I suppose that's a pretty limited TOP SPEC, but worth considering since CPU heat will never
be an issue while trying to expel video card heat from the case.
That's the idea anyway,
cheers and great stuff man, I love your channel!
Привет. Подскажи пожалуйста что за кабеля с подсветкой ты используешь? Спасибо очень круто и красиво!
I actually really like this case with the mesh set up and might push me to change out my mini-ITX build for this!
That's be some tough to survive your handling of it lol. Whenever I even almost touch any of my cases with screw drivers they get scratched...
wouldn't dust just accumulate because of the mesh front without a filter? the main reason why I considered the o11 mini is because of that bottom intake filter.
do you think a x570 velocita anda msi tri 3090 fit in it?
This is the perfect case.
true. thats thee case ive been waiting for
Excellent review - Thanks. I was disappointed that this case is not yet available for the normies. I just finished an obnoxious light show 011 mini white build and was ready to upgrade since I do air cooled builds. I'm glad that you actually did a comparison review. Other reviews I saw didn't do a comparo. I'm not so sure now.
Seems a shame that the front fan brackets cover the uni fan leds? Very strange!
I think you can mount a 360mil aio on the top if your use a micro atx motherboard
what are the strimmers you used? (E.G the lian li strimmer 1234) i like the rgb on those nice whte wires
I think the o11 air mini is mainly for air coolers if you want to build full atx motherboard. It can still do 280mm aio on top with matx motherboard so still good if you have a long gpu.
Would love to see an ITX O11 mini where the height keeps the case at at least 3 PCI brackets.
What are you talking about those are not the lian li strimer plus those are rgb shoe laces like you said in one of your other video lol
Hey boss, very late here..but wondering... I just got a 3070ti founders...and wanting to vertical mount the card with this case...what are your thoughts based on the airflow of the case, relative to the cards unique fan style ?
Would be great if you could do a test, as I have not really seen any tests with the 30 series founders vertical mounting !
what is the part you used to connect all the fans together then into the lian li uni hub?
when i hear "air mini" i would assume that you would be air cooling the cpu, so no need for any rads. imo. i do know what you mean about the case wouldn't be for me if i would be using an aio.
i would like to see if you can fit a large noctura or be quiet cooler in that case...
well, I think Lian-li reduced the length intentionally for the business matter. Because, if the 011 air mini can mount 360 aio, people will by the air mini for 360 aio and ATX psu rather than O11D mini.
By any chance you can modify the rear to fit a 140mm fan without issues on a atx board?
I like this case a lot. There's so much airflow and the PSU is not in the way! Thumbs up.
Lian Li Ceo: let's fix the mini!
Everyone: Yesss!
Lian Li Ceo: but let's make a new big flaw
Everyone: dude, what?
What are those glowing cables you used?
would you still be able to put 3x fans on the bottom of the case?
