Aerith and Astos are #1 and #2 in the game for me respectively. For like the past 3 months or so, lock out and 6 man stuff aside, i've taken Aerith, Astos, and a non maxed version of whoever the summon ticket mission character is to like 80% of the new shinryus that have come out and destroyed them. Now with force retain on top of that, Astos is like a normal character at max gauge for free after your first force. Its hard to justify taking other characters when every fight is dead quickly with Aerith BT -> Aerith ramp -> Astos FR -> Aerith Echo x2 -> 3rd character echo (if i have it) -> Astos BT -> Aerith + 3rd character turns -> Astos burst phase.
I agree about Aerith, she is above all the supports in this game. The value she provides to the team is just above whatever other supports can do, with Fujin as a sole exception. I don't categorize Astos as a unit. He's a cheat code, his existence is like that weapon/skill that you use to obliterate a boss with one blast when you are bored. He's a category himself (which will grow with Rufus and Angeal).
My personal top 5 in current Global by category based on what I have: DPS: Aranea, Astos, Sephiroth, Yda, Kadaj(Honorable mentions: Papalumo, Selh'teus Support: Arciela, Iris, Quina/Ursula, Fujin, Queen(Honorable mentions: Aerith, Lunafreya, Leonora, Sherlotta) Off turn: Weiss, Beatrix, Kelger, Rubicante, Reno(Honorable mentions: Auron, Gladiolus, Faris(Until she gets her kit after the next event in December), Sice, Cor)
aranea/rosa/ursula blue crystal ladies are my current go to combo..! and weiss, ignis, beatrix, yda, kain, leonora, cloud are also realiable for me. I am looking forward to see some of my favorite getting some good kits especially alphinaud, fang, terra, and y'shtola. thanks for the video :)
Missed out on aerith.. was taking a break from the game every time she re ran😢 yda is number 1 in my heart. I used my last bit of recourses at the time on her and she’s paid me back and then some. I really enjoy these videos I can’t wait for the next set to come!
Mr. "I've come up with a new recipe!" dude here at no. 1. Yeah, this man is so busted with his BT off turn damage. I used this guy at the current Shinryu fight. His BT music is just so good to not listen to when you realize you're in the middle of the fight.
I have came across no live stream on the upcoming schedule. Does this mean that we're only getting info from ingame news if they ever drop the december schedule?
Weiss animations are thrash! By the way an idea for content, why don't you give your top 10 character skill animations in DFFOO. BTW my top 10 in any order: Cissnei Fujin Ignis Deuce Aerith Reno Selh'teus Edgar Beatrix and Jessie :P

Maybe its just me but i feel like force charging isnt nearly as important now as it used to be especially with force retain

I haven’t used Aerith in so long. She was great for a time, but now I feel like she doesn’t do anything outside of being a force charger.
