Hi, Thomas. You have so many gorgeous birds in Bangkok that it's a wonder you bother with films about U.S. birds. Anyway, I'm glad you did, and thank you for the compliment.

Great info and close views of the Ruddy Turnstone - a shorebird who not only looks colorful but acts it as well. I've never imagined a bird on crutches Jo but I do now, hobbling confidently on that gritty sandy surface. Lol! Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge and the smiles : )

Yeah, Cathy, I was pleased when I came up with the crutches line. Finding those smiles is the challenging part of writing every script--and the most satisfying.

Michael, you sharp-eyed bird lover, you! Even though I watched this footage many times as I made the movie, I never noticed the missing toes on his right foot. Good catch!

The Ruddy Turnstone is an amazing bird !! I have not heard of this cute little bird . What a clever name . He definitely is turning stones to find his food . He probably is a beneficial bird , he eats old as well as new . I loved this video!!😊😊

I'm pleased to hear how much you liked it, Pamela. It's a short, sweet movie--that won't get a ton of views. Even among people who admire birds, shorebirds get little attention. The number of views and comments on this video are fewer than I would usually see at this point. I accept that and publish whatever I want to. I see myself as building a library here, and I want it to be well rounded, as complete as I can make it. Having said all that, I'd add that I thought he was adorable pecking around inside seashells and digging the meat out of a crab dead for days possibly. And he's pretty even in winter. You should see his breeding plumage!!
