Without getting into the global warming debate, what Tesla is envisioning and demonstrating a path to their vision is beyond disruption. It's like, a paradigm shift to all of modern society, and it's a foregone conclusion that Tesla is literally creating. This is beyond the average Wall street understanding. I'm not surprised by its reaction this morning.
Most important statement of the presentation: "What we're trying to convey is a message of hope and optimism". We really need this! Last 10 years there was only despair and doubt. Really refreshing to hear a positive statement and stance for the future

Amongst the many things that impressed me, was during the SOFTWARE discussion (1hr 33min) - the 'passive' background testing of new algorithms (particularly safety updates), using the vast amounts of historical anonymous fleet data collected & how the systems (both hardware & software) 'would have' reacted in every situation in the wild, with far greater confidence (before going live).
That's what "do the math" plus "from First principles" looks like, simple on the surface and complex in detail. The investment of intensive Engineering Analysis in the most appropriate applications, tends to float free by being self-funding, in terms of macro-micro finance, ..from the Investors, that's what sustainability looks like.
Drew was literally on the stage with Elon Musk. The worlds biggest stage doing the worlds largest thing, and he gave that up. I'll never understand it.
We have heard a lot of this content before. It would have been good to see a little more specifics of how Tesla is going to do these things and not why we need it. The why has been established awhile ago. Somewhat disappointing presentation in that regard although, I am excited to see the future and believe they will get it done.
At the same time, I keep seeing these Toyota ads for the Crown on YT. Guess they are still wasting money on ads and not reallocating their resources to better objectives.
I’m a Tesla bull but Tesla should have asked themselves what investors want before boring them with the same information that bombed last time! I disagree. There was nothing that we didn't already know. Also the masterplan was not a masterplan at all. It was just a napkin calculations of the obvious. This was suppose to be an investor's day and masterplan 3 of a company like Tesla. This totally didn't live upto the hype. This entire event was totally unnecessary.

The world won't want to go 100% electric and batteries if it's significantly cheaper and cleaner to go 90% electric few batteries and some fossil fuels (or biofuels) The UK is arguably a world leader in the transition to a clean grid. The UK will have a 90% non fossil grid by 2030 which is only 7 years and 10 months away And this will be achieved with close to zero stationary battery storage. Well not zero but we will have less than 1KWh per capita stationary battery storage which is 30x less than on this presentation 240TWh / 8 billion people = 30KWh per person. That's not desirable when less than 3KWh per person can achieve 90% decrease in combustion fuels Building 10-20x more batteries to go from 90% non combustion to 95% non combustion isn't worthwhile Getting to 100% non combustion isn't feasible becuase you wouldn't overbuild batteries to meet the once in a 30 year weird weather pattern that leave you with no sun or wind for longer than a normal period
