I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.
My thoughts are my own and are not representative of everyone who currently works, or has worked at Tesla.

Most important statement of the presentation: "What we're trying to convey is a message of hope and optimism". We really need this! Last 10 years there was only despair and doubt. Really refreshing to hear a positive statement and stance for the future

Nobody talks about the 240 TWh Batteries. Or about 10 trillion US$ cost. Everybody just talsk about FSD and Model 2. Funny how limited people seem to be.
I saw a 2020 standard range tesla model 3 with 19k miles for 31k that's just 6k off 25k my point it's available now go get it stop being picky

Tesla is obviously the only one with a plan. What does that say about everyone else? besides Schäffler or Bosch, VW or Stellantis demanding from the world to continue burning dirty russian fossil ressources?

Tesla did a grown up investor meeting, cool.
Amongst the many things that impressed me, was during the SOFTWARE discussion (1hr 33min) - the 'passive' background testing of new algorithms (particularly safety updates), using the vast amounts of historical anonymous fleet data collected & how the systems (both hardware & software) 'would have' reacted in every situation in the wild, with far greater confidence (before going live).
Thanks Farzad, It really increase the usefulness of the presentation to do this work.

Wall street should invest this mission and revolution and not trade on what Elon did not do... civilization has burned fuels through the decades leading to global warming
The FUD machines will be cranking out their critical, negative news.
They are incapable of shifting mindset.
Without getting into the global warming debate, what Tesla is envisioning and demonstrating a path to their vision is beyond disruption. It's like, a paradigm shift to all of modern society, and it's a foregone conclusion that Tesla is literally creating. This is beyond the average Wall street understanding. I'm not surprised by its reaction this morning.

Last night wasn't about today, tomorrow or next week or next month. It was setting the stage for an incredible next decade.
I don't think they could have possibly said anything that wouldn't have made the stock fall. People always hold Tesla to unattainable standards, even when the obtained standards are orders of magnitude higher than any other company on earth.
Because it was "this is how to save the world" and not "this is how we're going to make you rich".

That's what "do the math" plus "from First principles" looks like, simple on the surface and complex in detail.
The investment of intensive Engineering Analysis in the most appropriate applications, tends to float free by being self-funding, in terms of macro-micro finance, ..from the Investors, that's what sustainability looks like.
Thanks for the awesome content about this. I want to add that heat pumps are an important asset in this game. There are hardly any alternatives to that. I believe that Tesla could make great contributions to this industry as a technology company, bringing down costs with high level automation for instance. Greetings from Germany

@@PhilipX2030 i already use my AC for heating. Soon my solar roof is coming and my big heat pump. But you are right, it totally works and it is fairly cheap too.

I do not think this presentation gave the Wall Street and Quarter to Quarter type’s the sound bites they so desperately seek. This was a detailed and long presentation, but for me it had substance but not the sizzle the media crave. I expect stock to plummet today and for the next week or two at least. I see this as a time to buy more shares at a discount as I’m long and all in. Thanks Farzed & Cindy for a fantastic super cut and for being all round good eggs within our community. When next your in Ireland, the Guinness is on me!
I disagree. There was nothing that we didn't already know. Also the masterplan was not a masterplan at all. It was just a napkin calculations of the obvious. This was suppose to be an investor's day and masterplan 3 of a company like Tesla. This totally didn't live upto the hype. This entire event was totally unnecessary.

I’m a Tesla bull but Tesla should have asked themselves what investors want before boring them with the same information that bombed last time! They are nerdy college physics teachers in a class full of impatient day traders… that want to see the car that will sell 20 million units a year - and how they will do that! it didn’t go well!

He doesn't say where all the landfill waste will go from such a huge civilization.
We have heard a lot of this content before. It would have been good to see a little more specifics of how Tesla is going to do these things and not why we need it. The why has been established awhile ago. Somewhat disappointing presentation in that regard although, I am excited to see the future and believe they will get it done.
So much vauge pie in the sky talk about industries they're not involved in at all, totally worthless. Very disappointing.

I thought will be about actual plan that Tesla will do, not about Theo whole earth can do.
The world won't want to go 100% electric and batteries if it's significantly cheaper and cleaner to go 90% electric few batteries and some fossil fuels (or biofuels)
The UK is arguably a world leader in the transition to a clean grid. The UK will have a 90% non fossil grid by 2030 which is only 7 years and 10 months away
And this will be achieved with close to zero stationary battery storage. Well not zero but we will have less than 1KWh per capita stationary battery storage which is 30x less than on this presentation
240TWh / 8 billion people = 30KWh per person. That's not desirable when less than 3KWh per person can achieve 90% decrease in combustion fuels
Building 10-20x more batteries to go from 90% non combustion to 95% non combustion isn't worthwhile
Getting to 100% non combustion isn't feasible becuase you wouldn't overbuild batteries to meet the once in a 30 year weird weather pattern that leave you with no sun or wind for longer than a normal period

I have a lot of gripes regarding Tesla/Musk, but the engineers literally showed how they are going to produce cars much cheaper and faster via manufacturing innovation. So, yes, they delivered exactly what you were hoping for.
He did explain how they are creating cheaper and gaining efficiency. They were quite specific. Applied to future products!
