The GOAT. Brazil supports this man a lot and his work in defending the people's freedoms. Not only by taking over Twitter which censored people at random and which had a political bias in that censorship, but also for standing up for Brazilians against Moraes. A hero.
I was researching Moraes for a substack post and the man is an embodiment of corruption and censorship. He has no regard for the constitution or the long term progress of Brazil just short term power grabs.
What a great interview! She doesn't seem intimidated by Elon at all and actually gives him a hard time here and there. Most entertaining interview I've been able to find so far.
I disagree. I think the interviewer was intimidated by him, if not attracted to him. And I don't like the way she became focused/stuck on the idea of him being "crazy" ... That must have been so awkward for him; and her, upon review. (I'm not being mean, just posting from personal experience: Once, my brain froze when I met a celebrity I thought was just awesome. I'm glad it wasn't on youtube.)
Loved the interview and Sarah's laugh is one in a million. Elon is one of my favourite people on the face of the planet and I am constantly amazed at the way that his brain works. In the years to come he is going to held in the same league alongside other world changers. Just saying.
I know that it has been 10 years after this interview, but WOW. I love ELON MUSK. ONE OF MY FAVORITE individuals who truly cares about this country and what it stands for. How he thinks is amazing. Elon is highly intelligent but,I think he really has a wonderment as a child. That helps him to dream so big.He also is so humble to explain things in layman’s terms. So we can learn from him.The interviewer did such a great job.She let him talk and the key was she listened. She has a great sense of humor.I tell you how could a lady not be awestruck with a man like Elon.Great job!
He lies too much to be considered honorable. He tweeted an impossible plan to rescue the Thai kids trapped in a cave and accused the man who called him out of being a "pedo." He claimed that COVID would be gone by June. Last year. Don't get me wrong- he is a man of considerable accomplishment and the Tesla is a good car. But he is a deeply flawed individual. I would never call him honorable.
@@scottdelong1 Not following through on a plan is lying? He called a guy a pedo (common slang in ZA), so what? I swear the reason this upsets you is because you WANT to dislike him

Sometimes laughter is a nervous response. His interviews are such a joy to listen to. So innovative and his visionary ideas where his love for physics is brought to life is so inspiring.
Not keen on her laughter at all, for sure is like she is laughing AT him Like a realtor course being taught to shame the homeowners. Too many realtors never pleased me any, with this attitude. Choose actual owners of real estate companies who are actually SINCERE
Haha. Nervous damage does not belong to a repair, the rest does? Hahaha. Have you seen Iggy Azalea's underwear? You know these boys that look under girls skirts? He was taking pictures with all these people...
Love your laughter, Elon...contagious! An amazing human being with a gift of an extraordinary mind you utilize to the max!!! Thanks for your contributions to HUMANITY...all wonderful!!!
I wish she could interview Elon again in 2020 because she really knows what she is talking about, she did her homework very well and you can see how relaxed she makes Elon feel. This is (still) thé best interview with Elon Musk i have watched.
44:00 Holy crap I just realized this interview was in 2012. Now he's making the LA traffic thing a reality with The Boring Company and he's close to making Hyperloop a reality also. Wow..
This should become an over-the-years update. Say 5 months from now someone should come back to this very comment thread and report what is happening then haha
Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time.

Never seen Elon laugh so hard. Shows the power of mirroring. Sarah started it and projected the flirty and fun vibe, she knows what she is working with.
Also, old Elon was more light hearted. Even physically, he's grown stressed and slightly obese, along with success interesting enough. World's richest man...
When he starts talking about the electric plane and getting a vehicle to higher atmosphere, you can see that what the Starship is becoming actually is something that has been on his mind for a while now.
Was certainly a fantastic opportunity to hear EMusk / explain his ideas on Tesla/ SpaceX. Overall.. he has moved beyond the ‘abyss’ as an entrepreneur. Much kudos to his perseverance/ hard work. Success deserved 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼💪
He first mentions the hyperloop at this talk which he made opensource about a year later. I think what distinguishes Elon is his work ethic. He gets stuff done.
dude... opensource. so he took an ideaa 100 year old and he made it open source ? great. some awesome guy. do some back ground reading before you admire someone
As the years pass I like to come back to this video occasionally. I still learn little things about the big picture. So many things were always part of the big picture...
Excellent thanks, Humor is a form of interpersonal communication, and a good sense of humour is therefore an important social skill that we typically admire in others.
I can’t get enough of Elon. I’ve watched every video I can with him in it. I really like the Rapport he has with her. You can tell he can be himself. I’m sure I’m opening the Pandora’s box for both positive and negative replies to this comment, and to save a few naysayers yes I do have a man crush and yes would run away with him if I could!! Hahah but seriously my wife fully supports my Musk obsession and we need more people like him that have such vision, passion, humility that are emotionally driven. My favorite moments are when you see how real he is by getting choked up. Would give anything for an opportunity to meet him
Yeah and it really gets old seeing those comments about 'taxpayers' footing the bill (which usually come from deadhead liberals). Elon has re-ignited passion for space and what is to come for a whole lot of people. If it takes him a bit longer than he anticipates then so be it (but you notice there's plenty of people willing to pounce on him when it does). Let's see any one of these idiots do a tiny fraction of what he has accomplished. Oh and about those 'taxes', people would be paying them regardless..just not for the same things. I can think of a lot less noteworthy places those 'taxes' go to. I agree, I'd love to even see a launch in person, much less meet him. There are entirely too few people like this anymore. Most people with the financial capitol he has have little to no interest in investing it in to any of the places he does. Notice that since the inception of SpaceX, other companies have shown up as well beside the 'big few', now imagine if there had been no SpaceX. We'd likely just be left with NASA and robotic exploration only, at the speed of watching paint dry. Not that it's entirely NASA's fault either with the small budget they deal with (especially given space is only one area of NASA) (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budget_of_NASA#/media/File:NASA-Budget-Federal.svg ).
love the very first... what is it like 5 mins? When Elon is freaking joe out by acting like a robot. That was first of all brilliant acting on Elons part cause it totally creeped me out at first I was like um.. wtf.. but it even creeped joe out, his face says it all. His eyes are all big and he's like trying to figure it out, you can quite literally see his brain working. Of course the rest was brilliant too, yeah i really enjoyed it.
As a chemist, I find Elon’s dry humor as well as obvious humor fabulous. My favorite doctor in my laboratory never laughed, never smiled, but his dry humor was the best I have encountered thus far. I would hang out in his office and scientists who had been there longer then me would get upset I was “wasting his time.” However, I usually entered with a question the other scientists couldn’t answer, and he would explain what I needed to know And proceeded to continue the conversation- which I greatly enjoyed due to his dry, sarcastic humor. I was 21ish years old and he was 70+ years old. There was nothing weird going on- yet my colleagues were not thrilled about the fact that I could speak to him as a regular human, saying I wasted his time, yet once my question(s) were answered, he continued teaching me and told me things no other employee knew (as they didn’t understand the dry humor!) Also Elon is a dream man, S3XY for sure, I just wish he wasn’t a billionaire, the money is a turn off for me. His mind and intelligence are what get me going- per se! I love a human that can carry on an intelligent, science/ technology conversion with me and I love expanding my own understanding this way.
This was amazing to read. I tend to share that same unique trait that allows me to understand the typically non-understandable. I enjoy it so much and have come to realized it's helped me mature much faster than most. I wouldve killed in academia if I stayed in it.

A meeting of great minds makes for an amazing interview! We need this to happen on a reoccurring basis between these two. So good when the interviewer clearly has done research on Elon. Best comment by Elon---I never really made physical stuff before SpaceX!!!! 😀
I don’t understand why, but this guy is my idol. Every time I listen to him, I remember that everything is possible. I think it’s willpower and focus that we all need, and the rest is faith
Such a fan of how Elon thinks about improving our lives on and off the Earth. Wish there were more conversations with people like him coming out. So brilliant!

Why isn't all of our tax dollars going to this guy instead of the government my goodness!!!
if that were the case there wouldn't be any money available for the only 3 socialized institutions in America. The military, correctional facilities and the police.

@highwayvagrant1 except now he has the 5th selling car by volume in the US, largest profit margin off of his car's design, one of the safest cars to crash, and is now PROFITABLE.
Because our taxes go towards education, police, fire, parks and recreation, libraries, etc...not to one person.
SO Adorable how obviously desperately she wants to be screwed by Elon! :D
This guy is rich, handsome, and smart. Plus, he seems to be honorable much like Tesla, God bless.
Oh, thank u!! 😁
He actually is like Edison who ousted the Tesla founders
He lies too much to be considered honorable. He tweeted an impossible plan to rescue the Thai kids trapped in a cave and accused the man who called him out of being a "pedo." He claimed that COVID would be gone by June. Last year. Don't get me wrong- he is a man of considerable accomplishment and the Tesla is a good car. But he is a deeply flawed individual. I would never call him honorable.

Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time.

I thought I was the only one that felt this way.

There was nothing weird going on- yet my colleagues were not thrilled about the fact that I could speak to him as a regular human, saying I wasted his time, yet once my question(s) were answered, he continued teaching me and told me things no other employee knew (as they didn’t understand the dry humor!)
Also Elon is a dream man, S3XY for sure, I just wish he wasn’t a billionaire, the money is a turn off for me. His mind and intelligence are what get me going- per se!
I love a human that can carry on an intelligent, science/ technology conversion with me and I love expanding my own understanding this way.
