    My hair fell out because of protein overload so I have gone a couple of years without protein and my hair was so healthy. Now because of listening to hair videos, I tried protein again and my hair started breaking. Everyone needs to figure out what works best for themselves.

    • @LimitlessBloom
      @LimitlessBloom  Год назад +10

      Oh no sorry to hear that. Tbh if your hair is doing ok then it’s fine but the only problem with these things is the damage creeps up on you so you spot it too late. If you ever think of trying protein again maybe start by trying leave in conditioners that contain protein then build up from there to protein treatments. But the protein that I use I don’t think I’ve seen a bad review about it yet. It’s from healthyhairstudios and @greenbeauty has a similar one which I haven’t used myself but seems to have really good reviews. A really good mild protein treatment I love is by @equibotanics but I will make a video sharing more
      Do you mind sharing how you ended with protein overload? How often were you doing the treatments? Also which protein treatments have you tried?

      You are wise for listening to your hair. Not everyone needs protein treatments. Especially if you have low porosity. Curlier hair means you have more protein in it.

    • @preciousokudo
      @preciousokudo Год назад +3

      On the other hand, my hair started falling out terribly, reduced in volume and length all because of lack of protein, it all started when I began listening to these influencers and the SM that protein would break your hair and alladat.
      My hair should've been down my back by now but I'm still at shoulder length all because I stopped using my rice water every wash day.
      I'm slowly regaining all the wasted years of hair breakage as I have reintroduced my protein treatment back into my regimen.
      Never going back.

    Put an egg mask on your hair it makes hair shiny, silky and it give the protein the hair needs. Two eggs with olive oil and a ripped avocado 🥑. Mix everything and apply on hair from roots to ends, leave it for at least an hour then wash with water only. Your hair will be fine and it won't smell. Use a natural shampoo after two days.

    Great video!!! The iron levels or internal health is very important. My crown area suffered the worst when I was parting in 4 sections...I now part in 5 sections giving the crown it's own segment. Breakage and crown soreness stopped 🙌🏾

      I do the same but I use more sections. I realized that different part of my hair needs specific parts. The sides ( 2 sides behind my ears), my crown needs 3 parts, it's my thickest part and it used to always break, now it does not. Then the front and the back does not seem to need any special care but I part them as well

    I think hair porosity, density and strand thickness are THE MOST important considerations before using “protein treatments Low porosity, thin strands vs high porosity thick strands for example, require completely different approaches. There’s a strange association between protein treatments (as a one time treatment) and strength when in fact there are ways to use neutral henna every wash day or even everyday! I put all my Ayurvedic herbs in my homemade shampoo bar. This woman is on point. I love all of her tips and how she discusses them.

    • @A_Wilson
      @A_Wilson Год назад +3

      Yes! I’ve been using henna masks and Henna hair tea on my high porosity, fine but course strands. So far, I think it’s been very beneficial with making my hair strong.

  • @A_Wilson
    @A_Wilson Год назад +4

    Another tip for using henna…if you mix your henna with liquid coffee in a cast iron bowl (and whatever other ingredients you like) and leave it overnight before use, your hair will have a brownish black tint instead of a red one. This way, you can skip the indigo part and save yourself some time.

    I feel you on the protein requirements for our hair Sis! I have a rice water mix (protein) that i spray directly on my scalp while in my protective style. I alternate this with my moisture spray throughout the week. I have already redone one or two of my faux locs, and my hair is in optimal condition. My oils and grease have their place throughout the week as well. My butter and grease are my EXTREME sealants to my natural hair within the crochet loc. I do NOT tuck my hair inside the loc when installing. I just wrap the hair around the loc and my natural box braid. My hair stays hydrated and 💪🏾!!!

    • @LimitlessBloom
      @LimitlessBloom  3 месяца назад

      Yes that’s important for a balanced diet and the hair that is about to grow out your scalp but it’s not going to replenish the protein that is lost from your hair through wear and tear once it’s already grown out your scalp. This is like saying because our bodies is made up of 60% of water so I will not drink water and just depend on the water in my body. You will suffer because although the body is made of water , you still need to replenish that water to stay healthy and alive. I’m making a more detailed video on the topic which I think might help.

      Oh no! Do you know what caused the breakage? I recently caught stomach flu (diarrhoea & vomiting) from my kids and was sick for 3 days and as a result my hair fell out again just as in the thumbnail. Couldn’t keep anything down for 3 days apart from 1 piece of cracker and an orange 😫This happened a few weeks after filming this video 🥲So we’re back to square 1. Was so upset cos I loved the progress I had made. Will make another video sharing how I plan to improve the thickness again so we can do it together 💪🏾

      @LimitlessBloom I can't really pinpoint the reason for the breakage. It could have been being stressed, having had covid two times, having a ponytail, etc. Previously, in 2022, my family and I were homeless. It could have been from washing my hair in different hotels. The last time the nape of my hair broke off was because I was permed and I had braids. When I took my braids out, the back of my hair was short and everywhere else broke off too. I guess the nape of my hair is just sensitive. But, yes, we will get it back!

      @neana9597 wow so sorry to hear that. You’ve been through a lot so it’s likely a combination of everything.
