This video is the best video on you tube documenting Philly. I grew up in South philly in the 50's and 60's. Philly has always had issues with race relations, policing, poverty, and the disparity of wealth between haves and have nots. Toon , I appreciate this video, you have a knowledge of the city, and you've researched the history of these neighborhoods. Well done.
Thanks Toon for posting the Philly tour. Watching them makes me sooooo glad I don’t live there anymore lol. Left in the 90’s and and watching them from a better place is so satisfying 😁
Hey Toon, Old Man here. My Aunt used to live on the corner you passed at Clearfield and Hurley and my grandparents lived right across the street on Clearfield. I was born in '53 and it was still called Needle Park back then. I haven't been there in over 45 years. Thanks for the ride along!
Big up yourself king Toon. Haven't been to Philly in a couple years. Haven't been on your channel in like a year. Bless up for your 2024. Still doing good work
You are the best at this Toon. Your stories are on point. You are just skilled at these videos, and I have watched other tour guides here on youtube, and a lot are boring.
One thing I noticed is the amount of cars & debris blocking sidewalks. My understanding is that 36" minimum needs to be allowed for egress. That's clearly not the case here. And with these "luxury" apartments, who wants to pay $2500 - $3000 a month and walk outside to see all the trash littering the streets? And as Toon noted have two store-owners gunned down at the end of the block. You can put lipstick on a pig, but... Until the community respects their fellow citizens and own environment, it'll just get worse and worse. Love Toon's willingness and effort to go on these drives.
Love your videos! We went to Phillies games when the Stadium was on Lehigh ave in the 1960's. I haven't been to Philly since the early 2000's. But its still my favorite city. Happy New Year!
From a 68 year old white male from Oklahoma, I used to love going to Philly. Still do. Growing up, I'd get a chance to go there as a kid with my buddy's dad who could afford to take us (BY CAR....HA) and stay a week every summer. I loved it. I was , and still are, Motown. The place was alive. It was the coolest place ever. Now, with my job, I still get to go to conferences their once or twice a year. Wife loves to go as well. Food is great and downtown we've never had any issues. Regardless of the time of year I go, I make sure and go to a game. Love watching pro ball, regardless of the shape or size, in Philly. Still make the trip to Hitsvile USA. That should be treated as a national treasure. Just to walk in and see where it all started and why. But I hate how the country has turned it's back on the rust belt, and the people that really made America THE AMERICA the world knows. Kensington street (sp?) breaks my heart.
Kensington is an American open air drug use market!!! Used Needles on the streets, trash everywere, not the best place to visit!! God Bless Them! Hopefully there's help and humanitarian efforts over there!❤❤❤❤
Greetings....There's a lot of videos you probably don't have access to because they are for members only. But yea, I'll only be doing them on a every couple month basis ONLY IF we reach our, "go fund me" goal each time. I no longer create them for free. There are over 1000 tours on my channel, which were out of pocket. It's time to get the supporters to fund future videos. Hope all is well with you. Have a blessed day 💯❤️😊
I remember a few years ago when I drove on the side for Amazon Flex, they had me go from Wilmington all the way up to Kensington and when I first saw "Hancock" street, I had a Beavis and Butthead moment..."uhhhhh huh huh, it says "#@!$"" lol. Happy New Year @Toon215 and family.
When I was in Philly as a tourist I walked most places, no problems but being white I have to be aware of my surroundings. Did a lot in South Philly and downtown, no problems. No problems in NYC either, Atlanta my face didn't fit and I really had to watch my step. Camden NJ was another place that was scary. In Scotland where I live I fear no streets unless its late night.
Gino’s was a football player who open it up with the Gino Giant was like the Big Mac from mcD’s his name was Gino Marchetti who played for the Baltimore Colt’s in the late 50s 60’s, I loved the Gino Giant plus they served someone special fried chicken too but can’t remember the name, just a lil more info on Gino’s!!!
48:00 - I think it's starburst. That is what they call a particular spot in DC. One such spot in Philadelphia is called 5 Points around Rising Sun & Cottman.
How is it that all these hugely dangerous hoods are within a stones throw from torresdale, and yet none of this has spilled into that area. Like isnt frankford just 4 minutes from torresdale? Yet torresdale is one of the safest places in Philly?
The City of Phila should be ashamed of themselves. Tax payers pay their money only to drive on the worst streets. I was just there and all I did was zig zag to miss the pot holes! Born and raised in South Philly and the 25th street bridge makes no sense! Make the City do th! eir job so that you don't end up having to buy a new car due to their negeldgence!
Shoot Toon, I'd pay you 500 just to drive me around Philadelphia when i visit, since you know all the ins and outs ya know? I've wanted to visit for years but after seeing some of these videos. I definitely need a driver who knows these streets. But i don't know how to get ahold of you or if you'll even see this fam
The wide angel lens is fooling you huh. Making you think I am going faster then what I really am. Hence why I state the obvious in every video. (How fast I'm going) don't matter what car I'm in. I've did tours in several cars. Doesn't matter how slow I drive viewers still think I am going faster then I am. I could be at idle speed crawling. But since the streets are smaller then what your use to and the lens is a wide angle. You assume I'm going faster then what I really am. Any who. Thanks for dropping a comment.
well he grew up there after all, but still has plenty of uploads from all over US. Why even click on it when the title is exactly what it is, no click bait
Check out some of the other philly vids on this channel. Over 600 philly tours covering over 100 philly neighborhoods. Its been a year since he did any philly tours so its only right to cover where he was born and raised first ❤🙏🏽 in this video he mentioned possibly starting a gofund me to do a batch of tours. If you support the gofund me leave the neighborhood you want done in the donation text. 🙏🏽
Yes! Philly tours are back with Toon 215!

It was KFC always ( Chicken wise 🍗) The burgers and fries , and shakes were from Gino's though.
It's hell on earth there. Very gloomy, cold and depressing. Glad I got out and now live in Florida .
Yessss
Can you do the closure of the Greyhound Bus Station closure. And show where people are taken the Greyhound Bus from now in Philadelphia.
Oooooohhhhhhh...Toon returns!!!
Happy New Year!
Those new buildings look very nice. Are they apartment rentals? Do you know what the rents are roughly?
Apartments some, and some are Condos.
Those style homes in the beginning are completely foreign to me here in California. Lol
I just got back from Bangkok and Singapore. Would be awesome tour for Toon to do: Epic. Maybe one day.
48:00 - I think it's starburst. That is what they call a particular spot in DC. One such spot in Philadelphia is called 5 Points around Rising Sun & Cottman.
Toon ❤❄⛄
Toon,Boldly taking you to places you would dare to go.
😊
You think the new mayor will do the city good?
👍👍👍👍
What were you about to say about Aubrey’s boyfriend, when you mentioned her passing? Great video.
I wonder about her boyfriend too. @toon215 do you know what happened to him?
Happy new year I farted toon
Keep in mind: Philly hoods change, so Toon needs keep tab on these areas from time to time.
I'm from Camden but I love Philadelphia pa!!!
How is it that all these hugely dangerous hoods are within a stones throw from torresdale, and yet none of this has spilled into that area. Like isnt frankford just 4 minutes from torresdale? Yet torresdale is one of the safest places in Philly?
Salut !
We got a new Mayor, maybe she will clean it up again!

@@TOON215 I guess what I’m referring to is you said you were going 1 mph , but you were passing people walking at least 4mph.
@@donaldhookstead6991 haha. It's a stick shift car. So the idle was rolling 🤣
Really hope you do more live videos. I'm from the uk and used to watch your lives every night in bed
I remember one time you were driving in the snow and it was so heavy. And I just wished scotland could be like this 🤣
Yeah they “styalized” Hispanic!😂😂😂
The colours are horrendous yikes 😆
Philly needs more black people so the neighborhoods will be safer and cleaner.
Come on bro it’s the same place almost every time
Don’t like it, don’t watch. He hasn’t done a driving tour in a long time and most of his followers really enjoy them. So take a hike.
