Tyler really offers a soulful and solemn approach to it while most of us are listening to it with a bag of Cheetos stoned out of our minds with the Pink Floyd version.
David Gilmore is fantastic, With his soaring guitars. But when you strip those songs down like Tyler & remove all the soaring guitar solos, helicopters and people yelling and gimmicky noises like grandfather alarm clocks, the stories in those songs become much more vivid, relatable and produce much more feeling. I just thoroughly enjoy Tyler's style, and he makes it look way to easy.
When Pink Floyd performs this, it feels like the gods are speaking directly to you. Tyler sounds like a man nearing his death and having to make peace with that
Coming out of a mine shaft soaking wet, listening to Time while smoking a cigarette looking over a black lake at 3am will always be a fond memory to me.
Much respect to you, I'm from halran that's all we've ever known is how to bolt, much the belt line, run a miner and all that good stuff. So stay safe if your still going under the mountain brother!
1:39 when Pink Floyd sings the lines "And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking, racing around to come up behind you again!" they sound sad, that yet another day passed and there is nothing you can do about it... when Tyler sings it, he sounds like he is mad at the sun, like he is in a race and the sun has an unfair advantage, no matter how hard he tries, he will always lose to time...
My favorite part… I love the ragged anger in his voice! A true musician that makes you feel his words whether you can relate to it or not. There are very few modern artists that can give you that much soul in their music or even have that much soul to offer. Stuff like that can’t be taught or learned. You either have it or you don’t, and he certainly does.
Uhh Tyler is currently my favorite artist. Pink Floyd is my favorite rock band of all time, time being my favorite song of theirs. This is literally so unbelievably incredible.
I turned 56 today and was sitting out by my fire pit watching RUclips videos on a 300" screen last night.... Love Tyler but hadn't seen this. I was stopped in my tracks. I can't stop watching it. It hit me in a whole different way. I played it over and over and over....I swear I felt something, a peace came over me and I've been going through some pretty huge stuff that's had me crazy. First peace I've felt in a year. I'm just.... Wow
The cover that Tyler does of this song is so heart felt to me. I just want to thank him. This cover saved me from a very dark time almost two years ago. His voice and the words got me thru it all. If it weren’t for finding this when I did then I’d probably be dead. I have such an appreciation for this man. He is touching people’s lives in so many ways, I’m sure he knows.
Hang in there Sister. It's a roller coaster ride. And brutal sometimes. But just hang in there. There will be times when you realize it was all worth it.

From one Kentuckian to another never lose sight of where home is,I spent 23 years chasing that Texas country only to come full circle back home to Kentucky and embraced my Bluegrass roots. Don't sell out Tyler and remember Ky loves you my brother
Pink Floyd’s version has an almost entirely different meaning to this version, Pink Floyd makes you think of being an old person reflecting on life, this version makes you reflect on life no matter what age you are
Just caught Tyler alongside Colter Wall in Glasgow last night as part of the Celtic Connections festival. Tyler Childers is surely set for world domination, no?
Jamal Tinkov dude, did you hear Stapletons new bitch ass pop song with Timberlake? I’d like to think Tyler Childers would never sell out like that! I couldn’t believe it when I heard it...
This song never "affected" Me or had the impact, until I heard it from this man, I weep like a child. And I used to despise country, thanks to him and his Playlist, I love it now
I saw Tyler live in Nashville last week. Nicest guy ever. He is the real deal. I am glad I got to meet him before he hits it big time, because, he will! Very talented. By far my favorite artist. Keep up the great work Tyler! Oh, and come back to Oklahoma!
I got talked into seeing him in West Virginia back when he was 18. Been a big fan since. Nice to see him getting love on RUclips. Cool dude, amazing song writer, excellent performer. It's just a matter of time for him.
Tyler Childers Is One Of Those Artists Who Can Just Hit You In The Deepest Realms Of Ones Emotions. Every Time I Legitimately Shed Tears. Long Live Tyler Childers. A True Hero Of Music.
Hands down this is arguably the best cover of this song on RUclips. From a fellow Kentucky boy no less. Tyler is the epitome of a real musician. In a world full of Cardi B's and Justin Bieber's, his originality makes him stand out from the crowd like he's on fire. If I wasn't so familiar with who Pink Floyd is, I'd swear this was one of his originals. Nobody can deny this mans talent. Nose to the grindstone turned me into an instant fan. He paints such a wonderful picture with his words. I'm looking forward to seeing the direction he goes with his music. I'm sure it'll be nothing short of amazing if he keeps the heading he's been on. Nothing but love and respect coming from us here in Corinth, KY.
Dude is straight legit. This is the most badass cover of this song that I have ever heard!! Pure awesomeness. Keep this up Tyler. Your time will definitely come.
I've heard (and love) the original more times than I remember. It's part of my soul. But god damn this made me listen to the lyrics so much more. SO glad I've got tickets to see this chap in Manchester next year.
Rarely does a cover measure to the original but this does it for me. It may be my love for pink and also a country boy that makes this reach into my soul.
Definitely my favorite version of Time 🖤 I love Tyler's take on it, you can feel the way the lyrics fit a coalminer's life, and his transition into Harland Road is perfect! 💪💙
I first listened to this around 2018 when I was 17 years old. As of tonight, this is greetings from Micronesia at 23 years old. Please know that you’ve brought me joy around the world, no matter where I am. Thank you Tyler, your show in LA was out of this world. Never stop doing what you do.
Thank you Tyler. I just found your Heart. And, it really speaks to mine. My Dad, a former drummer with a Master's Degree, gave me a gold, metal-flake Ludwig drum set when I was 12. They were cool as anything! But I just could not make Music on them but had already fell in love with the sound of the guitar. Been playin' since Summer of '76. Play all alone now. no band. No music pals. Just me, my influences, this guitar, amp and my Lucy dog. Your stuff is just hotter'n possum shit in July. Now, I do have a guy I call my best friend(ain't seen one'nuther for a couple years) but was a time we played guitar and sang together for 6 or 8 hours a day. 3 or 4 if one of ya was in a hurry. Did it for about 8 years or so. Then life just drifted us apart. Now, within them years, he hooked up with this dude that thumped a bit-O-bass. Woody!!! Woody was cool as heck and fit in with me and BennyWayne just fine. We got a few weeks in and was gettin' a sound down. Sit'n around my fabulous near-east-side Indy chateau(a.k.a. Gunfire Ally) Benny says,"Hey boys! Let's go down home and hear some real pickin'!" ..drunk on bourbon, me'n Woody says, "Alright!!!" He(Benny) called daddy *down home and daddy says,"No boys. I believe ya'll better stay where yer at. It's fixin' ta snow down here real bad. Long story short.....We drove 12 hours on a 6 hour trip into the worst snow Letcher Co. KY had seen in 114 years. Think they even had T-shirts made. Slap down at Neon Junction KY. It was the time of my life dude! Your music hits that same BennyWayne, KY chord. Keep it up and maybe one day we'll both be playin' downtown Indy on the Circle. It'd be me, sittin' on the steps with a blood-red Les-Paul nok-off and a Pignose or somethin'.) Peace-Out, Jimmy Jam
Tyler Childers is one of the few artists today, that can't be fully appreciated without seeing and hearing him play live. I have several of his albums. Even the live albums. Nothing compares to actually watching him play, however. He seems to aim his vocals at something as he belts. He's got a certain enigmatic energy as he performs.
You're absolutely correct. In person he is exceptional. If I'm listening at home his studio stuff is fine but I will always choose a live recording if I have it available. There's very, very few artists I would say even come close to sounding as good in person as they do live, much less better.
I'm not new to Tyler Childers, but I just stumbled on this one. He makes it look way too easy. You always got some damn good toe tapping $**t!! Get back in the saddle Tyler!!!
Listening to this stoned: “woah man time and space is such a mystery man” Listening to this drunk: “god damn dude, I’m about to turn 25, and I still don’t know what the fuck I’m doing with myself”
Real music comes from the heart. Pretenders come from computers/big labels. keep it up Tyler don't take the biggest deal take the one that gives you freedom because freedom is more important than money.
No one should ever cover Pink Floyd.
Except Tyler. He can do whatever he wants. That was spectacular.
Guess you haven't heard greensky bluegrass remake of time
I almost agreed with you until I agreed with you😂
@jediwookie9240 you made me look it up..... thank you

Let's go down home and hear some real pickin'!"
..drunk on bourbon, me'n Woody says, "Alright!!!"
He(Benny) called daddy *down home and daddy says,"No boys.
It'd be me, sittin' on the steps with a blood-red Les-Paul nok-off and a Pignose or somethin'.)
Peace-Out,
Jimmy Jam
Tyler Childers is one of the few artists today, that can't be fully appreciated without seeing and hearing him play live. I have several of his albums. Even the live albums. Nothing compares to actually watching him play, however. He seems to aim his vocals at something as he belts. He's got a certain enigmatic energy as he performs.
Going to see him on Monday. Can’t wait.
You're absolutely correct. In person he is exceptional. If I'm listening at home his studio stuff is fine but I will always choose a live recording if I have it available. There's very, very few artists I would say even come close to sounding as good in person as they do live, much less better.
It might just be me,but at 52 and realizing that I'm grateful to make it to 52.
But I never took the lyrics to heart as much as hearing it from Tyler.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee record this and put it out there to buy lol
Anything he does is just absolutely amazing. His cadence, and vibrato is unreal. Thank you for saving country music.
Not a big Floyd fan but this is mind blowing can't wait to see him in 2 weeks
So much love from Australia to this magical man, hear his doing well with certain things great news much love from Australia 🌏🦘. Keep shining 🌟

Still my favorite live show ever. I feel extremely privileged to have seen it.
I'm not new to Tyler Childers, but I just stumbled on this one.
He makes it look way too easy.
You always got some damn good toe tapping $**t!!
Get back in the saddle Tyler!!!
Glad to come back around and find this one again. Amazing.
Listening to this stoned: “woah man time and space is such a mystery man”
Listening to this drunk: “god damn dude, I’m about to turn 25, and I still don’t know what the fuck I’m doing with myself”
I feel you bro
I'd say with a name like Jizzle McSizzle, you are going places bro.
Wait until you are about to turn 52
Such an accurate assessment lmao
62 & I have same exact replies in exact same situations…
He country-fied Time in the best possible way. Great playing, great voice.
Real music comes from the heart. Pretenders come from computers/big labels. keep it up Tyler don't take the biggest deal take the one that gives you freedom because freedom is more important than money.
Seeking truth. Couldn't hang said it better.
If a love will drain you of everything they want, just feel better about their self is this Love?or is that real?
Watching this over and over again. I’m sure; it doesn’t stop time, but it’s close.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone. Still watch this video all the time. Something about the lyrics to Time hit me more coming from Tyler.
Just saw him for the first time on Saturday and I was blown away. What a voice
I may be late to the party, but this man's music is timeless
This has always been my favorite song and then this guy covers it?? I love it 💚
