- This performance was recorded in November of 2013. He came to the show as a replacement for Hannah Aldridge who was ill. It is this show that became part of Tyler's CD Live On Red Barn Radio II. It was also his first solo appearance with us. We are proud to be a part of his incredible career.

it's his best song

Still listening in 2023 🔥 wish my friends had a taste in music
Always here buddy
Tyler childers rocks man him and chris stapelton both awesome
Same
I know what you mean.. all day at work I have to listen to top 40 crap, so I finally put my foot down and declared fridays as real country day
Wish my brother have a taste
This is what raw unfiltered talent looks like.
iamthemiracle81 Damn right
Yes sir it does.
He puts on a hell of a show
Tyler Childers is so good and raw man. I am a huge fan. I also dig this guy Brett McDaniel ruclips.net/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/видео.html . He isn't well known and I think he plays out of The Alabama area. So good man. Also, it is so weird seeing Childers with short hair. ahahah
100% couldn’t agree with your statement more!
How is there only 48 comments?? This dude is going to blow the makeup off Luke Bryan in about a month with his voice. You rock so much Tyler 🤘🏼Thank you
Omg youre so funny i love u
Kristy Wiley-Tester lmao
Kristy Wiley-Tester every show I've tried to catch of his in NC is always sold out. Managed to score some for a show in November.
Kristy Wiley-Tester ...I concur
Oh he already does. All he needs is a song on the radio and the end of "bro" or BS country music is in sight. Thank God.
Tyler is effortlessly outlaw as hell
Leave em crying in the isles Tyler. Now that's country, no fake ass city boy acting country! 18 karat outlaw
That's just how us Kentucky boys roll, Chris Stapleton sturgil Simpson tyler. Ol Kentucky boys
Well he's from South East KY
TRIGRhap Gaming so much talent coming out of KY. That state is saving country music
@@odin6667 I sing to just never made anything from it lol
My grandson played this song for me on my 60th birthday. It was the first song he ever played for me and was playing the song with a broken heart as his girlfriend had just broke up with him. It was the most tender of moments that we have shared. Thank you for inspiring my grandson Tyler and giving me that moment with him playing your music, it was priceless!
What an amazing moment that must have been in spite of his heartbreak. Thanks for sharing!
😊jt
I had this song on repeat for a month before heading to Afghanistan. Something about it just made me feel better and it's so fun to sing along with.
thank you for your service brother
First off thank you for your service. I have a similar relationship with this song and Tyler’s music. Got me though a really tough time.
Thank you for serving. Tyler's music will help any situation I think.
God bless you and thank you for your service. Your countrymen(the grateful/appreciative ones) appreciate your dedication and the sacrifices that you made. Props to you. God bless you!!
Welcome home friend. Thanks for your service.
I live on a Harlan road that my family’s lived on since the 50s so this song got a special place in my heart
Sarah Neuville are you a saylor
Thanks for sharing, fellow Kentucky girl, my favorite is follow me to Virgie, where I'm from.
I'm so sad this is not on Spotify, one of the best performances I've ever heard. So much emotion in his amazing voice! Honestly I'm baffled this is a live performance, just, wow.
Use RUclips music
I would pay a lot of money to hear this guy sing the phone book.
😂😂
AMEN AND AMEN.
Luke Bryan sucks,he sings stupid songs and sounds like his nose is broken...tyler is real...tells a story and has a voice that matches ....been listening to this for awhile now...Nashville country ain't really country...
@@davidreed13 he signed on in Nashville. Shut the fuck up
Yes yes yes
I accidentally stumbled across feathered Indians and had to research who this guy was. After finding everything he's ever done he is by far my favorite artist hands down.
That was also the song which got me into Tyler
His originality really sets him apart. Anyone can play, anyone can sing. But it takes a true artist to make the audience take a piece of you after they watch a performance. His voice is haunting and his songwriting is as original as I’ve ever heard.
Well said. And he can act too. Look up Shady Boggs or Laid Back signs record deal here on RUclips. Funny chit.
My buddy just ran into Tyler before his concert at a liquor store. Dude is too chill!
He's actually very humble and down to earth. I'm proud to say I've met him, tattooed his autograph on my arm. I'm addicted to his music
I was not expecting grandma Betty to say that lol
Toast grandma Betty has been doing this shit long before you bra 😂😂
Met him at the windstar. His whole band is cool AF
Tyler is a kentuckian, he want forget were he come from.
It's so weird seeing him with short hair and no beard😂I'm not the only one thinking it
He went from 35 to 17
@@gk7260 my thoughts exactly
I thought this was really old
johny domestic 2013
He had what he calls the "Opie Taylor factor" going for him back then.
Watching Tyler progress from a talented kid to a legend all on RUclips is like watching a time lapse of one of them flowers growing on NatGeo. Word.
He is WAY too underrated. My favorite male vocalist. And damn he makes me miss Kentucky terribly.
Verse 1]
Funny how she calls tonight
I need her more than ever
I've been down in low cotton
As lonesome as can be
And I think about her often boys
And even when I'm sober
I read over the love notes
The ones she wrote for me
[Pre-Chorus]
And if she want one night
Well that'd be just fine, well
[Chorus]
Somebody fetch my walkin' cane
I'm gonna get my baby
I'm gonna run to meet her 'neath
The shadow of the pines
She's gonna hop that coal train
She'll get off on Harlan Road
Love me 'til the morning comes
And leave me like a dream
[Verse 2]
And I'd run to her through tobacco fields
And over 'cross the clover
I'd wade a mile of briar patch, boys
Just to touch her skin
And I reckon I'm the foolish kind
To beckon to her callin'
But I can't seem to help myself
Let that woman win
[Pre-Chorus]
And if she wants one night
I'm gonna get what's mine, well
[Chorus]
Somebody fetch my walkin' cane
I'm gonna get my baby
I'm gonna run to meet her 'neath
The shadow of the pines
She's gonna hop that coal train
She'll get off on Harlan Road
Love me 'til the morning comes
And leave me like a dream
[Verse 3]
Buddy, all I know
Is I can't win for losing
Either lay here in this lonely room
Or let her have her way
Buddy, all I need
Is one night where she don't leave
And this one just might be the night
She decides to stay
[Chorus]
Somebody fetch my walkin' cane
I'm gonna get my baby
I'm gonna run to meet her 'neath
The shadow of the pines
She's gonna hop that coal train
She'll get off on Harlan Road
Love me 'til the morning comes
And leave me like a dream
Love me 'til the morning comes
Thank you

@@rogerfreeman6787 life is short, despite all ur plans bro
I'm 12, a female. And I'm inlove with this song.
My baby brother (about 6-7 months old) is obsessed with it, he dances and giggles, so adorable.
Lmaoo
Still one of the best! Can't count how many times I've played this.
Tyler is his own genre.
Saw him at a place called willies locally known in Lexington ky around the time this was recorded and a few days ago me and my wife ran into him at the post office. He lives in my hometown, we didn't say high because of the virus but it is pretty cool to see a local make it so far..
that's so cool
I’m from Texas and he’s huge down here
Lay it down. Kentucky respect! Sang it Tyler. 👍
I've listened to this song going on 100 times since I discovered it Friday night. Tyler is a Fucking Genius!
93' S-10, you got this one ahead of me but im put my words together now, brother. I never they never wrote every song after i lived a few. It was so taxing to earn those songs. Im glad to see ya stand up sir
This man has single hadedly saved country music,
Probably one his best songs, can’t imagine the pressures of the biz!
It’s one of my favorite but not his most popular
This is such a fantastic performance. I've had it on repeat for the past week. Childers is a fresh breath of air for country!
One of the baddest assed artist I've ever seen
If you didn't get that coke reference in the beginning of the song you shouldn't even be listening to this saint
I'm sorry, but there is no coke reference. You should brush up on your country phrases.
@@jacktheaviator4938 what is it you think I was referring to?
@@theroninrenofficial9058 he was hungover from alochol
@jacktheaviator4938 it's definitely a coke reference. He said "mine (sickness) was a little more self inflicted" then did a little sniffle.
"My sickness was a little more self-inflicted (sniffle sniffle) than hers (sniffles)".... that White House Road must of gotten him good the night before haha
That's what makes his songs good lol
Night before..... Hell he still driving down it
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Him being a recovering alcoholic puts it in another light.
@@veganvvarrior fairly confident he was also addicted to coke and pils
Ashland KY resident here, love your music bud cant get enough
What I like about his lyrics and how's he sings is it makes me miss the south and Ive never even been there.
We miss this. Happy in all ways for you. But put down that chai tea and give us this again. Love you man-All your fans
Jesus, that moment when you find a song that is literally your life. I listened to this a good 500 times today.
dude night and day with haircut. Glad he is kicking his addictions ass and still killer voice!
It was nice to see his boyish grin at the beginning and at the end of this song...I've never seen him really smile before in any of his videos--- he's always so damn serious and mad-looking when he plays.
One of my favorites right here. 1000 THANK YOUS
Saw him play in Richmond VA tonight and this dude is the real deal! I’m an instant fan!
Mike P I was there too. First Tyler show and now I’m addicted

Me and hubs found this cat about 2 months ago. Preach Red! I felt like I was living a good life before this but man, now I am alive. Thank you Kentucky and Tyler's parents for making this masterpiece
Man oh man wow. This guys has his soul coming out of his songs WOWZERS. You HAVE to come to PA and play. Pure bone chilling. Havent heard nothing like that for years. Hank Williams did it also. Now Tyler
The best voice in music today.
I don't agree
I do agree
And tomorrow probably
Disagree, still top 5 for me tho.
Get your heads outta your ass, the lyrics and voice and guitar is a spell put onto you.
Wow, seeing Tyler in his younger days, and SO REAL! Makes me proud of my ole Kentucky Home!!! ... and the AMAZING music made here!
As a woman, it doesn’t get any better than this. A true poem with guitar.
Tyler has been my fav for years now. Ive recorded a song before with his fiddle player Jesse Wells. We both are from Morehead, KY. Tyler, your voice is magical. Simply built different.
I’m from HARLAN COUNTY KENTUCKY. I LOVE THESE MOUNTAINS, there’s NOTHING better. Such a Small town, everyone knows everyone. We take care of each other here. This man is a poet
You can see the nervousness in his face so early in his career, when you watch his newer stuff his composure is just fuckin miraculous! Love him and his music man💯

Absolutely amazing and great song, saw Tyler @ outlaw music festival in VA Beach 👍🏼💪🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸
Thanks for pulling these from the vault. Tyler's fast becoming an American treasure.
This is way better than the version I heard from NewTown. Jesus, Tyler actually has a unique voice unlike most other country singers.
What there's another version?
@@karynmaddox9397the original is by NewTown
Just discovered Tyler's music. Awesome music. Too bad his music isn't played on regular radio. Thank God for Pandora and RUclips
Shawn Dean, I’m glad he’s not on the radio. That is for sellouts. You have to conform to their crappy syrupy sound and structure. I think there is a way to be successful doing albums and concerts.
Brutality honest in music 🎵 and life!👍🤟 Basically said he's an addict and that's why we love him!!! 💕 he just made a video saying he's flying the clean good path🤟👍Ride on Tyler!
Never have I felt an artist as relatable
Perry county born and raised I've seen to much wasted talent in those mountains glad to see it coming together for Tyler
Young TimmyTy always killin it
At least 5 years of this song and it's still one of my favs
It's probably the 20th or so time I've watched this. He is ahead of his time plus old soul truth and one of the most important artists to keep the bar high for country and all other music. We are being treated to a good decade of music If history repeats itself. Chris Stapleton is one example. Example. Different but same
Rocking the Ale 8 shirt.
Was gonna mention that. Awesome shirt
Pretty damn good drank
westbender 820 idk if ur saying ale8 is from southern Ohio or that’s where ur saying ur from but ale8 is from Winchester ky
I wish he put this song on one of his 3 albums. It’s one of my favorite songs of his.
Same!! I’m so sad I can’t find it anywhere but RUclips.
Yea it's my favorite too
Best Tyler Childer song.
That is one hell of a good song, a beautiful set of licks, and a beautiful guitar.
this guy jams out with so much passion. I can't get enough!
The passion and pain and love in his face is undeniable
A fucking miracle there’s a few who still play and sing true music.
Reppin from Harlan Ky!! Love your music
Listen to you everyday down in Pineville Ky
Listen to him in philly everyday...seen him twice my favorite.
So do I here in barbourville KY
I've had this on my list of favorites for so long. He's got so much talent without needing anyone to back him up.
Raw talent by far the best new country artist around!
I'm proud to know I watched this video when it only had less than 100k views ❤ Tyler Childers will forever be my favorite artist
George wanted to know who's going fill them shoes

This is unacceptable. How come I haven’t heard this song 5 years later!? Tyler you are KILLING it!
As amazing as he is now, I really wish we had at least another album or two by young Tyler besides B&B

The imagery in this song is amazing. It gives me goosebumps (which is my barometer of a song's worthiness ) every time.
