The funny thing is, I've heard the Pink Floyd original version 1,000 times and never given it much thought until I heard this man sing it and now it has a whole different meaning to it...
He's up there for sure but the best... There is no best it's subjective, some days he's my favorite but someday it's Benjamin Todd or Maynard James Keenan or Bernie Taupin or Amigo The Devil or even Lord Hammertonus Muscicalus
@@samwatkins6319 Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Nick Shoulders ( Check out his Cover of Blondie's Heart of Glass and Rather Low, Snakes&Waterfalls, G for Jesus), Benjamin Todd (Check out Using Again and his stuff with Lost Dog Street Band like Weight of a Trigger) and Amigo The Devil (Check out Cocaine and Abel, His covers of Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood and Waiting Around to Die by Townes Van Zandt) are the 5 best singer songwriters in North America right now. Stealing this saying’. Very well coined kid! Music teacher for thousands of children and they always ask me “what’s my favorite time of music!” Great answer friend “ genius know no genre!” Dats a fact friend.
Hanging on in quiet desperation. Holy fuck he delivers that line with so much earnest. The rest of the lyrics as well. Pink Floyd was incredible and he does the song perfect justice.
Hands down. One of the coolest and best solo acoustic covers of all "time". Childers killed it. And that backwards strum of the E chord during the interlude and end puts the perfect accent on this great performance. This man is already a legend.
Me to but if he does it in the studio I wish he would slow down a little bit. Play the tempo just a little faster than Cobain sang “Where did you sleep last night?” The lyrics of this song are so effective he could slow it down and make it even more powerful. But his version is awesome.
Man every time I listen to this cover l get the chills. There’s something about the intensity in Tyler’s voice that makes the lyrics sink in deeper. Just listened 5 times back to back with teary eyes at work.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for something or someone to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today And then one day you wake to find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either often to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The stories done, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
Living in Kentucky. I hear all about him. But had never listened. This was amazing. like other people have said. Ive heard this 100 times by floyd. But never felt it until today.
Ah man those vocals are intense 🔥🔥his voice in my opinion is one of the most addictive in music today!! None of this modern auto tune bullshit !! God bless you Tyler 👊🏻👊🏻👏🏻
And what’s crazy is there both from a tiny town in East Ky with less than 3,500 residents. Chris being from Paintsville and Tyler was born in Lawerence County but he graduated high school in Paintsville.
This is one of those times where I hear a song for the first time and I have to listen to it 3 or 4 times in a row, can't get enough.
more like 3 or 4 times a day
same.
those are the best 🥴🥴🥴🥴
Like you've you've never heard the original or tyler's? Cause either way you came upon a great song, jc.

I'm a pink floyd fan and somehow time has never had the same meaning as this to me
I keep seeing everyone say that but I feel the opposite. I feel like David has much more soul
This is a great cover but the power and melancholy in Floyd's version is hard to beat
@@damowarner1052 that’s what I’m saying. PF’s original has brought me to tears so many times
I love TC but you Patrick are delusional 🤗

I’m happy to exist on this earth at the same time as Tyler Childers. Definitely the greatest singer/songwriter of our time.

WE DON'T DESERVE TYLER CHIRDERS!! Omg how is this man so talented? This version is way better than the original!
The hurt in his voice is so real, never have I saw the meaning of this song so painfully encapsulated in one persons performance.
he really makes the song his own
This is one of my favorite songs. Tyler's version.
His voice is amazing!! Sounds like it's coming from an old soul
Listening to him sing this song puts you in a different place, he has a gift from God that let’s him touch your soul with his music

I have now listened to this about 30 times today. When I tell you this man’s voice has kept me alive I mean it. Such a great voice
Dang. I've heard that song a million and two times and I felt differently...sad that I just realized 20 years have just gone by.
This is awesome. Stopped me in my tracks first time I heard this cover, I wish it was on Apple Music or Spotify
I could listen to this dude sing the phone book🥰
Absolutely incredible, this guy keeps outdoing himself.
Need this as a B side or part of an EP
Chilling, almost brings a tear to your eye.
I love this Tyler! I love current too, but there was something about this phase!
This man’s musical talent knows no bounds. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
For the love of god, I hope he will release a studio version of this song!
Yes! So glad this got uploaded. Nothing short of beautiful. BLESS

I like Tyler Childers BUT I FUCKING LOVE PINK FLOYD. This song is incredible, He did it justice. Amen Tyler, amen
Damn this was good. I felt this in my soul
If I didn't know any better, this would convince me this was written about a coal town in eastern Kentucky. He absolutely owns this.
I listened to this once but restarted twice.. great cover
Damn that was breathtaking 😮❤
Makes my eyes rain
Man I'm glad I found this 😎🤙👍👍
Amazing voice and passion when he sings
The way he sings it somehow makes it more dramatic than the original version
set to 0.75x incredible
thats pretty good dude!
Bro you gotta do " In the pines" and wail that shit.

finally an amazing recording!
That voice..holy shit
This definitely fits in a playlist/album of songs about appalachian coal mines
Can someone give Tyler a list of songs to play acoustically? I'd kill for a rendition of True Love Waits.
I need someone to tab this or do a tutorial
Someone’s gotta breakdown the solo!
Still waiting 💀 maybe I'll try to detangle it.
FUCK THE GROWLS SOOOO GOOD
He makes this one million times better than the original
Chris Stapleton was my dude until I found this guy. I could listen all the time. Chris is a close second but man...
