Every S model introduced something that made an upgrade justifiable.
Let's be real. This year's iPhones are underwhelming even for "s upgrade" standards.

Its not about currency conversion, but about sales tax. Depending on where you're from, sales tax might already be included in your price when you see it. Most states in the US (and therefore their retailers) don't have to include sales tax when they advertise their prizes for products.
TL:DR When you buy an iPhone in a store in the US, you pay way more then the advertised 999$ because of taxes.

We've reached 'peak' Apple.... nothing satisfies now. I'm still on the iPhone 6 Plus and will be until Apple comes out with something impressive enough to justify the price. This hasn't been th case for me for the last 4 years.

This new series of phones cost 200$ more than what estimates predicted based off part cost- it's serious gouging and I can not support that

Akinkunmi Adegoke I’ve owned every note/galaxy/ and iPhone series. iPhone starting at 4s for me. Honestly I really like the notes. But if you don’t use the stylus that much which I didn’t really after the first two weeks, I think you’d really like the iPhone XS. Or XS max. Although they’re expensive as hell. I have the original X and a XS max which I’m using right now. Can honestly say I like the XS max more. But if you’re looking for a change in pace from the note series I’d give it a go. Just keep in mind it’s very expensive. Think about the Note with no stylus, better battery life, less customization, much different (I say better picture/omled screen), and might be a little but bulkier than the current gen note phone I’m not sure. Although I’m not a big fan of android anymore I have to say out of all of them, the note series is amazing. Hope this helped in some way.

Nilay is a great reviewer and delivered one of the least biased mainstream iPhone reviews I’ve ever seen. 👍🏼 I like that he gives credit where it’s due and doesn’t bash Android or Apple unnecessarily.

My battery life is good I'm on iOS 10.3.3 and it lasts a solid day but of course it depends on what I'm doing on my phone
I still have the 6s as well and am considering upgrading. Unfortunately My battery needs to be replaced. Can’t decide between the XS and XS max. The max is appealing but seems massive

Was the 6s massively different from 6,or was the 7s massively different from the 7.No so this update is for the S users specifically.But the A12 is a solid piece of art so if you are with a 6s or 7s or even 8 .its totally worth an upgrade.And these reviewers use the phone as in total exploitation and claim to have bad battery life (give A12 the time to learn the users pattern in order to get more battery life).For me my 8 plus the battery life is the best I have seen in any other smartphone.They are other strong contenders like the oneplus,the note series but in longitivtiy these devices tend to fall.

NZ Street BEATS I have a 6S and i think it will be worth it for us to upgrade since our model is 3 years old. We’ll definitely notice the updates on the camera and speed. I wouldn’t upgrade if I was already using an X.

First off, the IPhone Xs and Xs Max has yet to compel me to buy it. My iPhone SE, yes it’s a version of IPhone, still works after buying it 1 year later. It functions well, and I can stream and play IPhone games good enough. Sorry Apple, but you aren’t getting $1000 from me. Great review by the way.

The 8 plus will probably be the last iPhone I own for a while. I don’t understand why they couldn’t offer a phone with a fingerprint scanner. Samsung will probably offer 5 variable biometric parameters.

After 12 months with the iPhone X I needed to send it away for a warranty job. I was given a 7 as a loaner and can’t deal with the finger print scanner anymore. Face ID is SO much better. It’s really really good on the new iPad Pro too. Better than iPhone.

@@sarid246 120hz touch registration not a 144hz screen. Dual Sim has been on allot of other phones so if you needed it that much you wouldn't buy an iPhone. Faster charging should be expected when the other iPhone charges insanely slow, but after fast they changed their charging it's still not faster than quick charge for Qualcomm. The screen is nothing special its just as good as Note 9 SALED screen. Gigabyte LTE is not going to be relevant after a few years when you actually can see the real world difference after allot of antennas are changed. The camera is still not better than pixel 2 and p20 pro (XS is better when it comes to filming, compared to P20 pro) ...
So yeah... And BTW even more expensive...
I moved from iOS (iPhone 6s Plus) to Android (Pixel 2 XL) early this year. At first, I loved the Android experience! It was great. Then the phone started to do something I'd never had an iPhone do before a major OS version update: It slowed way down. It started just bogging down - delayed reactions to touch, long lag times when opening apps, even heating up and lagging when hitting the shutter button in the camera. The Android Pie update fixed many gripes I had, but I've got to say, I'm glad my job qualifies me for education and corporate pricing on new phones. iPhone 10 Xs, here I come!
with android you have to learn to factory reset your phone from time to time
MEMESFROMFUTURE I've used android phones for years but I shouldn't have to factory reset every so often. Hence why android phones are usually my second phone and not my main.
I have the pixel 2 XL all updated with the most current OS and the phone runs better than when I got it out of the box.
On most days, it runs great. I've noticed the most slowness when 1 or more of these conditions are met:
1) it's within the first hour after restarting my phone
2) I have more than 6 notifications in my Notification Center
3) I enter Android Auto with either Starbucks, Google Play Music, RUclips, Waze, or Google Maps open
Weird. Never happened that to me, and I'm way below flagships. All my smartphones so far were Motorola (Moto E > Moto C > Moto E5). I've only had problems with the Moto E, having to do a factory reset every now and then, but that was because of the low storage (2gb).

If u can get a X at the Apple store... Go for it.. Unless It's Still $1000... There's no reason to not get the XS if the suprerior and inferior device are both same price and get Apple Care bro... It's gonna break one day and you'll wish u had the protection.
