  • I'm taking part in (and teaching on for the first time) the 30 Faces 30 Days challenge in April 2024. Seven days in, how is it going? Because there is lifetime access, if you haven't joined and regret it, it's not too late. Go to shop.sktchy.com/products/30-f... to join. You can always do the ones you've missed at the end. If you want to see the full 30 faces, I will do a flick through at the end and let you know what I have learnt!

    Hullo Liz, thanks for sharing your progress and showing your versions on these lessons. You are truly inspirational and quite adept at portrait creation. I hope you continue to keep updating those of us unable to participate in the program and your encouragement is infectious! Thank you. I am hopeful that others will be so inspired to take the challenge themselves. Good luck to you and everyone else taking part.

    I love that you are doing all of the paintings along with us. I really appreciate your comments about each painting experience. It's nice to hear the honest feedback about style preference and struggles from a "real artist". Thank you for sharing.

      @@LizChadertonArt i am not sure i have quite "finished" any of them, and my day 7 with you is... well it is an outright mess, hahahaha.

      @@louisea966 It is a big time commitment, isn't it? But even if you don't finish at least you are having a go and not just watching the films. You will be learning loads!

    Those are all amazing. I especially like the first two and the last one. You're a master at mixing a rainbow of colors for skin tones, and I love the monochrome look, too.

      Thank you! 😊 I really enjoy this approach, but all the students seemed to find it tricky 🥴

    Hello Liz. Love your portraits. But to do this you must know how to do freehand drawing first to get to its likeness. They are lovely.

    • @LizChadertonArt
      @LizChadertonArt  3 месяца назад +1

      not at all. Sure I did this freehand, but I encourage all my students to use a transfer method when they start - tracing, transfer paper, a light box, an app, whatever. This was you develop the painting techniques and the confidence, as well as knowledge of the face. It is then far easier to develop the drawing skills to get a likeness.

    Wow you are so very talented. Portraits I find so difficult. Yours are done so well, great contrast. Do u draw first, then watercolor? I’d be ecstatic if I painted any of these.
