Extremely powerful! And so bloody clean!! Judged by the YT comment section, my impression is that the hardcore (or the majority?) DS fans rates the Alchemy live version the most, so I'm probably cursing in the church here but I'm gona put my head on the block and state that this version with a 64 year old Mark Knopfler Genius is The best version of this master piece. What do you guys think?

I love the final part when MK embraces his guitar! I admire very much this Man!
I think what draws me to so much of Mark's music is a sense of bittersweet nostalgia, exemplified in this piece (and so many others). There's a sadness, regret and yearning. And it's so beautifully articulated in the lyrics and music. But with the sadness, there's a sense of hope, as well. Rock on Mark, keep on picking'!

Mark and our generation are coming to an end. Mark has his talent and I have still the biggest mouth at times. He got rich and famous while I got quiet for a while until 9/11 woke us all up.
I savage Islam where ever and some ask me why. I am emotional and always was and will be till I die. Some people I met are happy to know me while others don't run but walk away, fast. I am a calmer bull these days thanks to music.
Marks music helps me to calm down with some of his fantastic riffs. I never got to see him in concert but have all his music in different forms plus here on YT which captures the moments well.
Very well expressed. And in addition there is this special combination of sensitivity and power.
