I can't get this song out of my head, from the best live, lead guitarist, on planet earth, playing accoustic guitar, tuned so sharp, an absolute thing of beauty, simply stunning
I've been a long time DS fan 30years+, MK continually amazes me with his innovation, new songs and that GUITAR SOUND, how good is he on accoustic guitar, Folks it don't get any better than this
As far as live performances go, this is majestical, MK gets better with age just like a good wine, the clarity of this recording is stunning. I can't believe you can get an accoustic guitar in a live concert to be so sharp (tuning wise). What a genious
Gorgeous song and gorgeous playing. Love the ring of the Martin Mark Knopfler is playing. He would have never imagined as a kid that he'd be the owner of such a fine instrument.
MK was sent from musical heaven to deliver these songs to us earthlings. what a complete musicical package, no one better ever, the real deal when it comes to live performances, he sets the bench MARK not many can achieve this level of perfection
MrGuybones Man I am envious, MK doesn't tour Australia what was the sound and performance like? I am confined to getting snippets of concerts from RUclips. Best wishes
I almost feel bad telling you. Amsterdam was a loud affair, at a very cool venue, the Ziggo Dome. A little impersonal, but amazing nonetheless. Oh, and Romeo and Juliet opened with a saxophone. Last night was the greatest concert experience of my life. First stop after their mid-tour break. Band was loose, having fun, amazing. Sultans...well...was Sultans. Privateering had people on their feet!
The dynamic, unpredictable and adventurous life of privateers in the sea...🏝 something seducing sailors, men in general and... our Poet course! ... Mark not only sings, but also plays and acts .. we feel this in the intonation of his voice and even in some of his body gestures...🕺what a splendid artist!!..nice beat, beautiful colored song......thanks my dear Idol. .🎸🎶❣️🌻🌹
Public extra a malaga meilleur qu'à madrid. Vivement la prochaine tournée. Thank you mark et tout le monde qui l'aime.
Give this guy (MK) a Strat, Gibsom, Maton, Taylor, Hofner, Rickenbacker,Schecter, Ibanez, Takamine, Danelectro, Fender, Dobro, Martin, National, my rake or broom handle, even my lawn mower and he could make it sound incredible
If I die on want Mk to play at my funeral. Piper to the End, straight from Lucca circa July 7 2010, Brothers in Arms, any version, this song, and so many more, How sharp is the tuning on the Martin guitar, so many clear notes, this night was hot and steamy, how does MK's guitar technician Glen Staggers keep it in tune?
It's a hard call, given that Dire Straits basically IS Mark Knopfler--every single person in the lineup except him changed over time--but I have to agree. After that first album in '78, there came a lot of rock bands in the 1980s that filled a very similar musical space to Dire Straits' middle period stuff. From Golden Heart on, there is no one who does exactly what Mark Knopfler does, as a songwriter or a musician. He's giving us something nobody else does or could, and that makes every album a special treat. I do miss how much "hungrier" he used to be as a guitar player because he's just so good, but he doesn't need to show off and has nothing to prove to anybody now. Everything he plays is in perfect service to the songs he writes--and while I wish he'd give us more of that blistering finger-picking showboating, his perfectly crafted late-period songs are just right the way they are.
sometimes i say that and i sometimes i say dire straits better it depends in how mood u are for me Dire Straits=Mk band cuz they have the same genius MARK KNOPLFER
I can't believe only 7000+ views, sad the rest of the world who are consumed by Beiber, Gaga and every other media driven drivel, won't ever experience this masterpiece, good for us MK afficionados, a loss for all others
I think this is master piece of accoustic guitar playing great lyrics, fantastic production, the clarity of the drummer at 4:40 on the symbals, can anyone tell me what that 'Poink" noise is in the outro, it's not Guy Fletcher, he is playing back up guitar
How sharp is the tuning on the accoustic guitar, just insane. What a wordsmith just so good. Question who produces this live music, is it MK or Guy Fletcher (another brilliant musician) or someone else?
This is the theme song for Patrick O'Brian's great Aubrey-Maturin British Navy books. Mark loves his roots. Also love that this is in Malaga. Port of call for those brown-eyed ladies. :😄
Gaga, Beiber, Madonna, and every media driven "Music Star" take note, while you are counting your bank balances, MK is writing songs and playing them live, for which we are eternally greatful for, here is lesson for you all. This bloke beats you all hands down. You could not play four bars of this if your bank balance depended on it
I saw this live 3rd row in the USA on the same tour. Awesome
👍
Those of us who are mere mortals can only look at Mark's talent with wonder. He is a guitar deity.
I can't get this song out of my head, from the best live, lead guitarist, on planet earth, playing accoustic guitar, tuned so sharp, an absolute thing of beauty, simply stunning
Mark has retired now and I'm sure he will be missed by millions.God Bless Mark enjoy your retirement.
Every note on this accoustic guitar is a SYMPHONY, MK doesn't play accoustic that much but when he does, just mind blowing
Peter West You should check out his stuff with Chet Atkins on youtube then
What a great song, and what a genious song writer, guitarist, simply the best
Yes, the best! A fantastic concert this one in Malaga! Have a nice day Peter, and thanks for sharing :-)
Luciana Detomas
Thanks for the reply, we share the same music passion. Best wishes and kisses. Keep well.
Peter West always the best music! Ciao Peter, have a beautiful day, kisses to you :-)
Luciana Detomas
How can I accept your friendship on you tube, we share the the same passion for MK and his music
Peter West I don't have a You Tube channel, but I often go there to ear my favourite music
I've been a long time DS fan 30years+, MK continually amazes me with his innovation, new songs and that GUITAR SOUND, how good is he on accoustic guitar, Folks it don't get any better than this
This how you play a semi-accoustic guitar, sharp, with three finger picking style, just a masterpiece
It’s not really a semi-acoustic it’s just an acoustic with a pickup system in it - but never mind the bollocks …
As far as live performances go, this is majestical, MK gets better with age just like a good wine, the clarity of this recording is stunning. I can't believe you can get an accoustic guitar in a live concert to be so sharp (tuning wise). What a genious
MK never ceases to amaze me
simply mesmerising, what a genious guitar player, song writer and performer
Gorgeous song and gorgeous playing. Love the ring of the Martin Mark Knopfler is playing. He would have never imagined as a kid that he'd be the owner of such a fine instrument.
Teachering Me too what a great song, and what a great acoustic version
MK was sent from musical heaven to deliver these songs to us earthlings. what a complete musicical package, no one better ever, the real deal when it comes to live performances, he sets the bench MARK not many can achieve this level of perfection
Went to see HIM yesterday 😁😁😁👍👍👍

Excellent performance wonderful song thanks Bravo!!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯❤👏👏👏👏👏👍
The MARK of a genious, live music at it's best
My favorite.
Nice sound quality! I heard this last night in Indianapolis. Such a great song!
I remember seeing him live in Sweden and how this particular track was a near out-of-body experience. ❤
All can say just a mesmerising performance, how can he finger a pick an acoustic lead guitar, no one like him in music
Awesome performance.
I'm sure MK's guitar talks. It has a life of it's own, managed by the great man. What a performance
Un grand qui continue toujours de nous faire rêver et partager sa musique avec son public et ne s'est pas tout simplement arrêté au moment ou il a eu du succès. La différence est perceptible par rapport à d'autres.
Christ I wish MK would come to Australia and play this quality music, we are starved for this genious
Have a look at the finger work on the fret board, simply stunning, MK never once looks at his fingers
maravilloso
Amazing sound, quality video, what a guitarist, singer. songwriter, I am speechless. How does he do it, I'm bereft of answers
Every note is a symphony, just so good, how in Jesus name does he do it, live performance after live performance, a musical genious bar none
fue un concierto fantastico, gracias por el video
J'y étais "magnifique" , mark toujours en forme . Public extra a malaga meilleur qu'à madrid. Vivement la prochaine tournée. Thank you mark et tout le monde qui l'aime.
I wish I had been there, just so good
I love him for his guitar playing and his great lyrics, my one dying wish to see him live again
Sheer quality that leaves modern music slipping in his 'Tish, How I wish i could have been there
what a bas, awesome, mark rules
Give this guy (MK) a Strat, Gibsom, Maton, Taylor, Hofner, Rickenbacker,Schecter, Ibanez, Takamine, Danelectro, Fender, Dobro, Martin, National, my rake or broom handle, even my lawn mower and he could make it sound incredible

Great song
Here is the best version of this song period Mark Knopfler - Privateering - Málaga 2013 - HQ Audio (Multicam)
Would love to hear Four In A Row live sometime
We likes that one !
I've come to the conclusion that I love solo career Mark Knopfler more than Dire Straits Mark Knopfler.
+The One™ Me to

well Luke you sum this up perfectly

Couldn't have said it better myself, Luke. Spot on in every respect.
I can't believe only 7000+ views, sad the rest of the world who are consumed by Beiber, Gaga and every other media driven drivel, won't ever experience this masterpiece, good for us MK afficionados, a loss for all others
3 months ago I posted this to say only 7000 views, now up to nearly 12000, someone is listening
I think this is master piece of accoustic guitar playing

S'gotta be a cymbal, eh? Makes the song!
brilliant.
Quit everyone, you watching a genious at work

Exactly right **thumbs up** It would be the perfect soundtrack for Lucky Jack :)
Just so! A glass of wine with you sir!
Am I the only one who thinks Privateering is No. 1 ?

rutger heemskerk
I wish I could have gone with you. Pity MK does not tour Australia. I hope to see him live before I die...
When I die I want Peter West to write my obituary
Prelepo
Anyone know what type of guitar that is? Looks like a Taylor?
Thanks
