Believe me Blackmores Night make exceptional music and Ritchies playing is better than ever. He still brings out the Strat on occasions as well. Listen to his solo on 'Fires at midnight'. For me its in his top 3 solos ever. Still a GENIUS !!!

One of my favorite concerts, Blue Oyster Cult/Rainbow 78. Then in 79 it was Cheap Trick/Rainbow with Graham Bonnet! I've never seen Joe Lyn Turner! Dammit!!!!

Really makes me sad that so few young musicians probably have never heard of Ritchie Blackmore, he doesn’t get nearly enough credit for all he brought to Rock, a true innovator.
Depends on what part of the world you are talking. For example, american know less about Blackmore, but Japan, Russia, South America, Germany, Eastern Europe know him very well him, and Ritchie easily takes one of the highest places of rankings in those countries. I don't know why it so.
To me the best way Blackmore played this solo ever. 3 minutes long and one thinks, He will stop, now He really will, but He continues and continues: enjoys playing. Great sight moment around 5:35.
