A musical genius. His song speaks to anyone with an open heart. It speaks in a language that only the soul can understand, 'cause ur heart beats w/ the tempo. He taught us that true peace & love will always trump ovr hate & evil, that getting together 2 listen 2 the rasta music and give jah thxs and praise will set the people free. because the natural mystic will always be there. Long live the dreadlock rasta, who never died, but just went home. MARLEY DAY-SEPTEMBER 25
this song Kinky Reggae was on the flipside of a 45 rpm record thst featured No Woman No Cry on the otherside--it was the first ever Bob Marley record that came into my possession---that was 1973---I still have it
i remember in the olden days when we took a school trip to holland, this was the song that i had playing in my head when i was walking through the streets totally bombed from the freshly acuired wheat. What a beautyfull memory. I will cherish it till the end of my days! This is the song that made me aware of bob marleys music. THANK YOU!!
I first heard this song in 1973 while in Houston,Texas...I met & saw BM/W at the now-defunct "Matrix" in San Francisco, Oct. 1973...making their very first USA tour! This is the song that introduced "reggae" into American vocabulary...
AND,I met B.M.W. at the Roxy in Los Angeles... and slipped backstage! Bob was a friendly, modest guy.... Talked with the band only a couple of minutes at the Roxy.. The Matrix, mainly that meeting was, with Aston "Family Man"Barrett, when he had time to talk after the show. He told me something I'll never forget: "The bass notes I play aren't written down. They come from my heart!" (I'd wanted to be a bass player, coming from Houston,Texas.)
I just feel the rasta vibes listening to and watching this Bob Marley live performance video. I am so proud to be a Jamaican. Rasta must be big in America, Britain and Canada. Little Jamaica...With such a Big creative Rastaman Genious. Rastafari forever!
esse video chega a ser comovente, do começo ao fim a filmagem parece ser um sonho, olho o cara q apresenta o show Q FIGURASSA! imagina viver nesse tempo, assistir um show do bob ? simplismente sem palavras... Obrigado Bob Marley.
the definitive version of this song is the unedited and unaltered version that came off the jamaican album of "catch a fire" with Peter and Bunny. That is the best album ever (Not the Island records version....)
well, I will double check it but I am pretty sure that it was 1973. The recording took place at the Lyceum , London. I will recheck because I was speaking without the benefit of having the record to hand. Anyhow the I am very sure that it was my first bob marley record. I was a little little boy living in the city of bridgetown, barbados. No woman no cry was the first bob marley song i ever played on my guitar
