I'm always watching these type of tik toks because of the cute packagings and stuff, but I've never seen one where they share actual tips for small business owners or for people who are planning to have one.
I have seen videos where they give you tips it's helpful but I suggest if you want a small business get a book about it.

Some of these have way too much packaging on the product and a lot of them I’ve noticed put like confetti or glitter in it like it looks cool but I don’t want a glitter bomb lol

Tiktok small businesses: here’s a scrunchie, magic worm, and a candy, along with your purchase!

But tik tok businesses sell their products for double or triple the price
It's because amazon is a full blown company that doesn't have time to sit there adding glitter and candy to their packages. TikTok businesses are no better. Half of them buy a 36 pack of lipgloss (that you can find on amazon fyi) and re-sell it for 3.50 per individual unit. It is rather a ploy for fast money imo. Also too much plastic and not enough creativity is used. They all buy the same lipglosses (fruit roll ons, honey gloss, rainbow gloss, and the "SHE brand") There is no way to differentiate these businesses. They don't even try to hid it. I find it unfortunate that this is legal. There are genuine small businesses that do make their products, however they don't seem to get as far as this resell businesses. Some actually decent businesses are: Audacitycosmetics, MochaPbeauty and GummKissesCosmetics

Look for cheap wholesalers and vendors. Plan it out perfectly. For beauty products u should just go for wholesale instead of making it (unless its lip gloss or sm). Dont forget to make profit

Hey there i feel you lol. Honestly i dont like it when people buy in bulk then sell for 3x the price. My buisness consists of handmade candles,wax melts and other small crafts. We are also trying to reduce waste so not use tissue paper and using bubble wrap when necessary. Our extra bags consists of a reusable organza bags a few stickers and buisness card. Nearly all of our products are under £10 too. Sorry for long message lol

Agree, most of these small businesses put more effort into the packaging then the actual products and 9/10 people definitely just throw away the packaging. But they’re making their profits.

I remember trying to start a business my dad said nobody's going to help you while my sister had committed to helping me with the designing and writing bc I don't have good writing so I would do packaging, printing and making merchandise out of her designs. It's still my goal I'm saving up money because the only crafts store near me is Micheal's and it's expensive as hell.
