I LOVE these videos. All of your content is great but I always feel like these kinds of insights from people who are doing something at what I consider a high level is such good information. I've picked up a couple Fletcher Cox TC Refractor rookies on a whim when I purchased some stuff from a consigner for a couple bucks each. Gemmed one out and got $70 for it and I only considered it because of the inspiration to pick up future HOF type players who might not get graded as often. Thanks for the content! Happy new year!
Great job with the Fletcher Cox 👌 That’s the exact mindset I hope people can gain from me. Thanks for watching, and feel free to ask me any questions moving forward. Happy collecting!
This is a great video showing true transparency on numbers which is rare. Valuable info so thanks for sharing that. It allows other people to better compare their own numbers such as selling fees etc. Your selling fees seem very low which is awesome. And it shows me I should try to get mine down. Just generally very helpful video. Thanks a lot.
Indeed. I am also curious how your video set up is. Is that a phone or camera stationed directly in front of your chest? @@littlevictoriessportscards197
Great advice! You have a lot of wisdom and experience….folks take notes here, success always leaves clues. I also love the idea of “collecting spirit” Reconnecting with the joy I had collecting baseball cards in the 80’s and being able to share some of that with my kids has been the most enjoyable part of “the hobby”
Thank you for saying that 🙌 And I’m happy you watched til the end to hear me talk about the collecting spirit. Sounds like you also appreciate the true meaning behind cards, and sharing that with your kids is perfect 👌
Thanks for enjoying my vids! I’ve wanted to do a PC vid, but it makes me feel like I’m flexing or bragging which isn’t me at all 😅 But maybe in the future 👌
Well played on that Flacco! Super low risk move, way to go. Solid sales numbers and lots of good info and knowledge shared in this one. Enjoyed the content as always!
Awesome advice man! Really enjoy this. Any chance I could show you a video of my toploader collection and see if you can spot any cards of mine worth grading? I’m still developing an eye for it. And love PSA for my PC and for resale.
I’ll definitely take a quick look for ya, and give ya my opinion 👌 Feel free to email me the vid to: littlevictoriesgrading@outlook.com Thanks for watching!
New to this store is doing ok, trying to build it up. In your video you said to learn all this stuff about the buying and learn about things like condition sensitivities and such, but how do you learn these things? Is there a book? lol love the videos and the advise. Go Browns!
Good question. I was kinda vague, and I often forget I learned all that stuff cuz I’m old and have been around the hobby for 30 years lol. One good suggestion is to buy an old Beckett plus price guide magazine from a year around 2007, a basketball one, a football one, and a baseball one 👌 Study those, you will learn so much. Another suggestion is to go to card shows, really look at all the tables, soak in the variety, talk to the vendors, ask them questions, ask content creators. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 👌
Question for you, since we’re on the subject of sales. What are your thoughts on ad fees? Do you pay them? If yes, do you put a cap on it or do you go with the suggested % (often in the double digits 😳). It’s hard to chip out a profit with ad fees on top of everything else, but it definitely helps to get eyes on your listings. Curious to hear your approach on ad fees.
I've never done or paid for any ads on ebay, or any kind of promoting a listing option. I just have always felt that if you title the item correctly and as detailed as you can, you will get the eyes you need :) @@3pt-cards
@@littlevictoriessportscards197 right on, I dig that. I DONT dig paying 5-10% extra to get my cards sold lol. I’ve tinkered with ads the last few months but will be pulling back big time. Just losing too much profit.
I must say, very smooth to buy that Flacco card. Only someone who is truly in tune with the hobby would’ve thought to purchase a card like that. Good stuff bro!
Thanks, I appreciate that 👍 I definitely gathered from my experience on that one, but also got lucky. Even I didn’t think Flacco would play this well 🤪
Thanks for watching…I really appreciate it 🙌 My advice would be to not sell in a lot if you can. Cards seem to sell for higher if you break up the lot and sell individually 👌
Thank you! I try to always be transparent and honest in every video 👌 Unfortunately I don’t have a passion for selling other peoples cards, it feels more like work, so I don’t do consignment 🤪
Also, quick update on the cards you’ve screened for me - 100% accuracy for SGC and 68% gem rate for PSA 👌👌AWESOME. Really appreciate your expertise; I’ll be sending more in the next 1-2 weeks!
Love to hear that! Thanks for updating me...I was genuinely curious how I would do :) I really appreciate you using me service, and putting your trust in me. Thanks Ryan!@@oxfordanderson9645
a lot of useful information thank you. I have a question, I notice a lot of your items are sold with some sort of discount promotion. Is that your listing strategy? Seems like you have a lot of success doing that.
Unfortunately I don’t have any tricks or tips for that :( eBay selling fee should be around 13.5% though…not sure why yours is 22%. Thanks for watching!
I'm curious, which would you say contributes the most to your success: buying cards that grade highly, buying cards with high value upside (through grading, or an expected change in an athlete's card market), or something else?
Great question! 👌 And thanks for watching. I’d say the thing that contributes most to my success is buying raw cards that would be unique and desirable in graded form. I submit cards with low pops, players people haven’t graded a ton yet, unique, condition sensitive cards where it’s hard to get high grades. I forecast years in advance for what players will make the HOF or what sets I feel will become iconic and valuable in 10 years. Think before others have 👍 This way you aren’t competing with a million other sellers selling the same card on eBay, and can set the price to your liking. Hope that makes sense
Thanks for watching my content, really appreciate it 👍 I live in Oregon, one of the few states with no sales tax, so I’ve never had to worry about paying those on eBay purchases. Interesting about the LLC.
@@littlevictoriessportscards197 Gotcha. Makes sense then. Yeah, if you list yourself as a resaler under a business entity, you can have the sales tax waived since they'll collect the sales tax later.
I let people offer whatever they want 👌 I figure any interest is better than no interest, so I respect and am kind to any offer (even the complete lowballs) 👍
Hi. Just made some nice profit on comc flipping cards and after watching you and doing my own research, bought couple cards on there to be graded. Do you ship them from comc toploaded or without. Not sure how they pack them and it's 35cents per. And love your content. You helped me focus more on comc and grading for sure ❤
Great to hear! I’m always stoked when my vids can help 👍 To answer your comc question…I go without. They seem to ship them pretty well protected 👌 I appreciate you watching this long vid!
Quick question: so for the 2023 tax year, they made it 5k on eBay. I sold over that, so I guess I’m eligible, and I’m sure you are too and have dealt with this before. Since 95% of cards I buy in person and do not have receipts, so I have to label the cost basis as 0 since I can’t prove the cost? Also on the taxes, it is classified as income, not capital gain, so would you suggest staying away from eBay for this year, as it will be only $600, or just staying away from buying at shows? Thanks
Thanks for watching my video! Unfortunately I’m not great with Tax questions 🤪 I love helping when I can, but tax stuff I’m never fully confident in my answers, sorry.
Thanks! Feel free to direct message me on instagram with any questions I might help with 👍 You can search Little Victories Sports Cards on there and I should pop up.
Child psychology and developmental research 👍 A little bit different than sports cards lol 😂 I was in graduate school for it, but while in grad school my sports card business started to do really well and was less stressful :)
I was hoping someone would comment about the ladder 🤣 Nice catch. I forgot to turn off notifications before screen recording. Oh, and I did give her a ladder lol
I live in Oregon, one of the few states without sales tax, and I really only sell on eBay, so an llc doesn’t make sense for me personally 👍 But I pay my appropriate taxes each year from the tax forms eBay sends out 👌
