Exactly where I'm at now. Thank you. It's so good to know I'm doing the right and healthy thing. I'm so broken❤

@blewdraaz1057 Be proud of yourself! Your putting the pieces back together! Imagine that, there probably was a time. When u didn't think it was POSSIBLE. 😊

Great advice. Narcissists though are good at repetitive attacks, with the intent of wearing your defenses down. Sometimes it is best to avoid them if it is possible.

Listen again to the whole thing. He said how to recover from abuse, then mentioned nothing about abuse but talked about how our brains process threats and how to respond after thinking.... even tho this doesn't work in reality as if you took 4 or 5 seconds to respond each time, everyone would think you're crazy

The question is about self-care, and yes, it actually does work when you can practice reducing your reactivity.@@smokingirishman7820

Im always in fight or flight, ive been through so much but coping very well. Still, i attract narcissists and know when they are invading my universe, i pick up on it because I lived with 2.

Interesting model for the brain. Wonder if using it during a time of stress can help to keep us on track and give us the time we need to not react to triggers? Just get in the habit of quickly holding your hand up and looking at it as a reminder.
