- This prelude by Rachmaninoff exudes such exquisite despair. The score is relatively easy to read but tough to voice and direct. The themes keep changing, the dynamic range is broad, and there are middle voices to note of. There are dynamic markings where you need to get from p to f in a span of three measures. Most of all, it is a polyrhythm all throughout! I had to do lots of hands-separate practice and voicing. It has been tough to make all the details come out when playing it altogether.
Recording was a bit softer than usual. Must’ve fiddled with the settings differently.
