Good job on your video. Happy to hear what great care you received from everyone involved. Great images! Your experience in the hospital was much better than mine I'm surprised you were able to make a video so quickly. I made one as well. I'm a year and 1/2 out from my TPF and so very grateful to God and family and friends that helped me recover. God speed with yours. it's a very long road but in the end you will feel blessed everyday that you are walking again.

Thank you very much for the support! I'm doing all I can to keep a positive attitude about the situation, although I do have times when I panic a bit. Nights are the worst. Last night trying to sleep I was laying there in disbelief of what had happened and how severe an injury I sustained. Its a bit sobering to not be able to walk. That and it seems that my case is so much more severe thanks most folks. I have pretty much the top OS in my region who is on my case, and he says that I will recover and be able to do all the things I used to do. Hopefully I will feel better after my follow up next week! Cheers!

Thank you for your video! I had tibial plateau fracture 1.5 months ago - also from a skiing injury! I had surgery 4.5 weeks ago, and am recovering and probably won’t be weight bearing for another 6 weeks. Your video is so helpful and encouraging to me! I hope your recovery is going well!

I’m glad you found it and it was a blessing to you. This injury is no joke. I’m doing really well and am walking again. Prayers for your recovery!

@@shr0p Thanks so much! That is super exciting that you’re walking again! Woohoo! How long after surgery were you able to start bearing weight and walking?

Thanks for sharing your story. I fractured my tibia plateau after a 3ft fall on 1/7/23. My fractures look almost the same as yours. My knee was dislocated so my 1st surgery was an external fixation device for 2 weeks to straighten my leg & allow the swelling to go down. 2nd surgery 1/20/23, 2 titanium plates & a dozen screws. Started PT 4 days later, 90 days non weight bearing. Went back to work in June, was doing good, therapy every day, slowly getting better, but 2 months ago started getting severe pain, turned out to be nonunion of bone, bone cavity, required 3rd surgery, bone graft, another titanium plate, more screws. So 9 months, doc keeps telling me a full year to recover. How’s your recovery going? My pain is usually only when I’m weight bearing or if I do too much during the day.

Your accident was just a day after mine… recovery is going really well. There are days where I almost feel normal again, but there’s still some stiffness I am dealing with. I’m tolerating my hardware very well, and the doc thinks I won’t need HWR but he would talk to me about it at 1 year if I really wanted it. Main thing is the weakness in my right leg. Still regaining strength. If you haven’t already, recommend joining the TPF group on Facebook. It has been very helpful…

I broke my tibial plateau on 2/11/23 fall from second step of a ladder. 2 metal plates and 12 screws.Almost a year later i still can't straighten my leg. My questions to you. Can you straightening your leg all the way?I hope you are doing well!!!!

I’m sorry that this happened to you! I have what my PTs called a functional amount of extension at 2-3 degrees. I can walk normally without a limp. My other leg has about -5 degrees of hyperextension by comparison. I’m still working on flexion as well and am still 2-3” between heel and butt… recommend the Facebook group “All Tibial Plateau Fracture Recovery - Surgical and Non Surgical”
