You're missing the fact that if you get a certificate for a free cabin, it's pretty cheap to pay to upgrade. And they have a set schedule for the price of the upgrade rather than it being different for every sailing

how much do you buy in with? if its only $200-$500 I've been told you don't even get looked at but if you buy in with 2.5k or more you get the hosts attention. obviously you still have your limit to lose then walk

They don't give you anything for betting the minimum.
