I agree with@@mcbobly. The RRHOF is an absolute joke. Why bother, and who cares what Jann Wenner thinks anyway? We know Triumph is triple the musical talent that some of the fakers who's been inducted in there in the last 15 years...
Every time I come across a R&R HOF discussion, I always hear about artists that are not there, & my reaction is always *REALLY ?* I guess the hall is the joke that most people say it is.
I am from Puerto Rico (American) and grew up listening to Triumph..., I want to thank Canada for giving the world such great musicians like they are, well deserved. I am 50 years old and to this day, my 11 years old and I enjoy listening to their music toguether.
Been a fan since 1982, Allied Forces changed my life, washed both my parents cars when I was in seventh grade and got five bucks, stole some change out of my brothers room and rode my bike to Kmart and bought that album, played it on my Sears and Roebuck record player all summer. My whole life and still today I turn people on to Triumph and I’m 50 years old. These men were real musicians, with great songs.
*Allied Forces* is what brought me in as a fan also. *Fight The Good Fight* is my favorite Triumph song. My mother would sometimes buy us something for passing in school at the end of the year. In 1982, I asked her to buy me *Allied Forces* that year. Still have it today. I loved listening to their tracks, when I was feeling down, because those lyrics always lifted my spirits...
My dear friend and the bass player in my band Kevin Boyce (RIP) was Rik's guitar tech during the US Festival years. Our former sax player saw Rik in Cali and told him of Kevin's passing. Rik was very sad.He then took the Triumph banner (sponsored by Converse) from the wall, signed it and shipped it to us.He is a class act and we will never forget this kind gesture.Much love from Florida. Thanks Rik.

I’ve only seen 2 bands multiple times. Rush is one. Triumph is the other. Triumphs live show was unparalleled at that time. I distinctly remember a green face inside the laser light talking to the crowd as is shot over the arena. That was by far the coolest thing I had ever seen and will never forget it. Congrats you 3.
I'm so glad that I had the pleasure of seeing these guys live 4 times . I totally loved them. They put on one of the best live shows that I have ever seen. The 80's rocked !!!! And congrats to Triumph for the induction. Proud to be a part of growing up during that time !!!!!
I was one of the teenagers (way back then) who bought Triumphs's "Rock & Roll Machine" record when it came out. Me and all my friends had to have it and air jam to Rik's crazy guitar solo. Still remember blasting "Street Fighter Man" when the parents were gone. Saw them on tour live here in Austin, Texas for that tour and then later for the "Just a Game" Tour. The second time I saw them had the better light show I remember but the music and performance of both shows were fantastic! They came to my home town and rocked us! And, we bought their records and always supported them back. They need to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for sure. Thank you Triumph for the great music you created and we still listen to! SiriusXM brings you into my ears allot thankfully. But, I also still have the live Triumph "Stages" CD in my stack of music. I'm getting older but your music never will. Cheers from Austin, Texas!
I was invited as a Super Fan to the triumph metalworks studio for the documentary being filmed for this great great band...they did SO much for their fans...and they played as a power trio for the first time in decades.....they were such gentleman and giving, even their families were great and humble..best band ever..Gil is a remarkably polite and contrite man....
My favorite LIVE performing band. Saw them in the mid 80s in Houston Texas!! Their music helped me through some rough times and continues today!! Rik Emmett and Paul Rodgers are 2 of the best vocalists to me!!
These are the guys and their music that inspired me to pick up a guitar years ago,,,of course everybody that called me friend asked me to put the guitar back down,,, but that doesnt matter!!! its the Rock that got in to all that listened to this great band. Still crank many of these songs way up at 58 years old, just to make sure nobody in the neighborhood forgets!!! Thank you Triumph!!
Damn right Loved Triumph since I first got Progressions of Power ... amazing and Allied Forces even better Got all their material and they are a truly exceptional band Rock On from England
I got to see Triumph at least 3 times and Rik solo and his various bands multiple times plus met Rik as well. The band along, with Kansas, Rush and Zebra got me through a lot of hard times. These guys deserve more credit.
Saw Triumph at the last us festival at Glenn helen where David Lee Roth made an ass of himself Lot of good bands out there Triumph was the best that day.
Discovered Allied Forces, back in the day and was forever hooked! My only regret, never saw them live!! Would it be too much to ask them to do another tour??? Cingrats on your award...
Old Rik, humble to the end. I remember as a kid hearing Jimmy Page and thinking how awesome it would be to be able to play a guitar like that. Then I remember hearing Blinding Light Show and thinking I have to get a guitar someday. Then I heard RNR Machine and I went straight out and 'borrowed' a guitar! Thanks forever Rik, it's been an amazing journey.
Congratulations a well deserved accomplishment. Triumph was the first concert I ever went to and I still listen to their music in the car to this day cranked to 11. Most under rated band of all time. So much talent there. Rik is so good, to watch him play, and the way he has mastered to guitar is just amazing, I am just is awe! My jaw drops every time I see him play he’s that good! If you can’t already tell he is my favourite guitarist of all time.🤘
One of my most favorite bands! 3rd concert I attended. 2nd row small theater in Rochester N.Y. Mike had his Blues Jersey on and Rik busted out the double neck guitar. Still one of if not the best live band EVER!!! Congratulations guys👍🎸🎶😎
What an utterly GREAT GREAT band!! In HS I would have Canuck ( not being derogatory) nights in my car: April Wine, Rush, TRIUMPH & Loverboy. Loved those Canadian bands. Sometimes it drove some of my friends nuts but I knew GREAT music. Just A Game & Allied Forces two of the GREATEST albums ever!!!
Great job guys. Noone deserves it more. I've seen ya'll 8 times live. I think MAGIC POWER was one of my favorites. There all GREAT. THANKS. ROCK ON FRIENDS
Legendary band I've seen Triumph four times never saw Led Zeppelin George Jones or Marvin Gaye but I saw this band four times awesome what a great team
My favourite Canadian band is Rush but you Triumphers are my Second ones !!! Keep On creating Magic Music Power !!! All the Best !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Shocked at how little Ric had to say... One of my first ever concerts - Buffalo, NY 1980 or 81 if I recall. One of my favorite bands ever. For three guys, DAMN they had a great sound!
I was one of the lucky ones to see them in the 1980's and yes what a great show and stage show. Triumph music and shows will forever be in my memories.
Was in High school in the 80's and absolutely love this band, Even though They always seemed to lurk in the shadows of Rush is good to seem them get a well deserved award.
Music is not the same anymore I’m not old just know the difference these guys gave so much great music and it was their passion but became ours thank you so much (love from ohio)
Well it's a about time someone recognizes them. Incredible band, great live shows. Beautiful, inspiring lyrics, power house musicians. Got to see them in my hometown during their *Sport Of Kings* tour. Fantastic concert. Congratulations to Triumph for this well, & long deserved award...🎶🎸🙂
Right on guys. You sure deserve that. Your humility is just that much more endearing because you are the greatest rock'n'roll band Canada has ever produced.
Awesome! I remember in my early 20's, cruising in my T/A with Triumph blasting out of the MindBlower Speakers. Best time of my life! Thank You Triumph for some great memories!!!!!!!!!
First saw them at McMaster in '79 and every year after, met them a few times and they were always a class act. Still have their first album, need to get it signed....
I saw Triumph back in 85 at the Lakeland civic center. It was such a wonderful experience!! At the very end the lights came on and I dropped my lighter. I looked around for it and found a camera! I was 18 or 19 I’d have to look at my stub I still have to know which. But I kept the camera, today I would have looked to see who lost it. But I developed the film and still have some outstanding pics! Molly Hatchet opened for them and there were pics of them as well. There was one standout pic of Rick where he had the double neck guitar, he was smiling and had that glint in his eyes that made the pic such a classic! I live in Daytona Beach area still to this day but have had thoughts of moving to Canada because The U.S. is simply going to the wayside!
I do not what this award means in Canada but, I am an 80s teens. Was the 1st kid I know to become a mega fan, Rik E. Is one of my biggest influences picking up the guitar myself. I was lucky enough to have won 1st row seats one tour and backstage passes here in Okc. Oklahoma. I still have the signed pass and Ocean Pacific hoodie I wore that night. They ALWAYS were one of the best live rock bands...period!!!!
Congrats Ric, Gil, and Mike! I missed 2 shows in Denver and a missed opportunity to talk to Ric who was sitting down relaxing lost in thought before or after a gig at the Taste of Colorado in the late 90s (can't remember what exact year). But the music was in my heart and soul and THANK YOU for keeping me to Hold On and Fighting the Good Fight.
Triumph was one of those bands that just seemed to disappear... everyone compared them to Rush because they were a three man band and from Canada. But that was about it... I’m glad they were around during my high school days. Nice to see they’re all still here...
Awesome! Joe Anthony was mentioned part of Triump's road to success. I bet he's smiling right now from Heaven. Joe Anthony the Godfather of Rock n Roll!!!
Congratulations! I saw the show at the old lady on Brady theater, which is 2800 seat venue. It was packed full of Lights and sound equipment, and was one of the best shows that I have ever seen. Gil Moore had a drum kit that was cut mirrored glass, and was one of the most beautiful drum kits that I've ever seen.
I always figured it was whereas Rush split the credit but all three had input to music & lyrics, Triumph was Rik doing all the writing but still having to split credit three ways. You'd have thought he'd get solo credit for all the acoustic guitar pieces at least.
The first time I heard Triumph I knew instantly how big they would become. They were great together and had the talent to take it to the top. Lay it on the line is simply kick ass !
Congratulations guys; I’ve always been a devoted fan of your amazing music since MTV was still all about what you truly represented & Canada is more than proud to have some of the greatest Rock/Metal bands alive
Cobo Arena, Oct 1981, Allied Forces was the only time I saw them live and won't ever forget that show. Have been hooked for life!!! Rick didn't speak, WTF
One of the best live shows I have ever seen, bar none !!! and I've seen a bunch! I seen them when their 3rd album was just coming out in Hamilton Ontario at Hamilton Place around 1979 or so. The show almost didn't go off because they had trouble getting approval from the fire marshall because of the flame thrower in front of Gills drum kit. You're damn right they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame especially considering some of the acts that presently are!!!
For me (as you can see), the greatest band ever! Triumph has so many beautiful and meaningful songs that got me through many bad times and still do. Their greatest hits CD plays in my car right now, at an exceedingly high volume, the only way to listen in my opinion. Rik rarely ever gets mentioned in those 'greatest 100 guitarist lists" etc, which is a damn shame as he should be very high on any list, he deserves it. They are so underrated it's ridiculous. They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and not just the Canadian one. They were fantastic live (even through the haze of cannabis! :) and I truly wish they would do a big tour so I can see them one more time. One more thing, separately an collectively, they are just wonderful men, thank you for everything!
What a wonderful tribute to one of my fav bands. So glad they mentioned the US Festival in 1983. If you haven't seen their set there, watch it. They were amazing (esp Rik) that day
See how great these guys look now after all the touring, minus the sex and drugs. Very respectful band in the music industry. I was fortunate enough to see them in concert with UFO in the early 80's. Congrats Triumph , you deserve it. Rock!
Triumph needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland Ohio if they're not they deserve to be there they were a hard rock and band great music Rik Emmett was phenomenal a master I'm 63 and I still listen to him they are a true great rock and roll band they are a legend Triumph Hold on to your dreams !! You're you're right Triumph deserves and needs to be in the Hall of Fame the Hall of Fame is a complete joke hell it took Rush 20 years to get in there after they were eligible bands like Bachman-Turner Overdrive The Guess Who and REO Speedwagon are not in the Hall of Fame yet either I believe they'll should change your name to the Rock and Roll Hall of shame cuz that's what they turned into some of these artists that they put in these rap artist don't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame before bands like Triumph an REO Speedwagon just to name a few again the Hall of shame is a f****** joke I wouldn't spend a dime to go to that place

I met Rik Emmett in Hamilton at a guitar seminar in the late 80’s, what an amazing guitarist and a great guy. He blew my mind at guitar.
Love you guys !! Thanks for you..Ypu are one of the best & such great memories I have where magic power , lay it on the line , hold on etc
Hello😊🌹
"ROCK'N'ROLL MACHINE OF CANADA: "TRIUMPH"!! -- BRAVO! BIG GREETINGS FROM SWITZERLAND, CH-LUCERNE, -MARIO P. (BIG-TRIUMPH-FAN!). .......
One band I never got to see but always, always loved their music and talent
I saw them at the Richfield Coliseum on New Year’s Eve 1985. Bad Co. opened for them. Great show!
Awesome! I remember in my early 20's, cruising in my T/A with Triumph blasting out of the MindBlower Speakers. Best time of my life! Thank You Triumph for some great memories!!!!!!!!!
Very cool! These guys have been rockin’ since before I was even born. I still listen to their music and they still rock hard!
🎶🌹🎶
Hello😊🌹
✌🏻✌🏻🌹❣
Rik Emmett , is a Rock and Roll Machine !!!! Congrats Triumph !!!!
Congratulations we love you.
Sat with Joe in his 99.5 KISS studio once trading metal stories and music. Great guy.
Lay it on the line is simply kick ass !
i still have many TRIUMPH concert ticket stubs, and somewhere have t-shirts from several tours.... they were and are a ROCK N ROLL MACHINE..
Under-rated band! Always in my heart!
Will never forget Spring Break 1979 when I was still 15, and a sweet young girl named Shelley from BC introduced me to this powerhouse band.
I saw Triumph and Moxy a million years ago and to this day it was one of the best concerts i have ever been too!
Favourite all time Canadian band. Saw them twice, and Rik once. Absolutely love this band.
Had 5th row seats on their Thunder 7 tour, they opened with Spellbound, it was an awesome concert!!!
Saw Triumph 79
Awesome Amazing!
Pure Rock!!!
So much FUN Thank you TRIUMPH 😎
I saw them in the 80's in Toronto... I feel like one of the chosen ones...
What a wonderful tribute to one of my fav bands. So glad they mentioned the US Festival in 1983. If you haven't seen their set there, watch it. They were amazing (esp Rik) that day
So deserving...such an awesome Rock and Roll band!!!!!
See how great these guys look now after all the touring, minus the sex and drugs. Very respectful band in the music industry. I was fortunate enough to see them in concert with UFO in the early 80's. Congrats Triumph , you deserve it. Rock!
OUTSTANDING GROUP and one of the best R&R bands ever!!! God bless them!!!
Congratulations Triumph from an Australian fan 🎉🎊🎉😀
