I'm very thankful you posted a video for Sweet Thing! I heard those ringing open strings and didn't match the first few tabs I found. @3:00 you say you feel that's the best way to finger an A chord. I wonder why that is? I've always done it 1-2-3.
Try the A with 1st on the third, 2nd on the fourth and 3rd on the second string. It's the best fingering. You can change to D and keep the first and third fingers on the same strings.
Hey Jon, I really appreciate your work. Ty so much. I sent Unchained to my son and he loved it. He is really developing as a guitar player and singer, and was so psyched to get his response to Unchained. He loves the Grateful Dead, is there any way you could throw down a Dead song or two?
One of my favorites. I've been playing it very simply. Now I will try it this way. Thanks. Do you have any other Van tutorials. I have watched your "Have I Told You...".
Ive got the chord progression down but I cannot sing this song while playing for the life of me, idk if its the time signature or if im just stupid lol.

Thanks. Great tutorial. This Van Morrison tune is up there with his very best poetry.
You're welcome! 100 percent this was some of his best stuff IMO.

i think he does it here so it sets him up when he slides up to 7 fr & drops 1st finger to 6 fr.

Nice lesson on Van Morrison......how about another JJ Cale tune,, Crazy Mama or They Call Me the Breeze

Showed him that one too. Thanks!
This was a great tutorial! Do you know if the Jeff Buckley version is in a different tuning?
It’s probably played in a different key with a capo, but sounds like standard tuning to me.

I answered my on question. Searched and found you have much more Van. Best to you, Jon.
