So happy Collins was dropped along with da silva, both was criminal against pompey, lampard showing he sees what we see. The fact Robins never started mason clark once but wanted to play asante more is mind blowing. Even signing asante imo is woeful. Next is to string two or three wins together and confidence will flow, and then haji Wright still to come back. Can only be positive! PUSB

He did a decent job with Derby and his first 18 months at Chelsea were great. Should never have taken the Everton job and should definitely never have gone back to Chelsea in the state they were in.
A midtable championship team is the right level for him to develop as a coach and prove himself.
He's not a bad manager. He has an excellent track record for developing youth and has really good talent ID. His teams play possession based attacking football which can be great to watch at times, but he's shown defensive naivety and probably needs to communicate better.

I just don't get why, if you're a club like Plymouth, trying to remain in the Championship and not drop down leagues, you'd hire a man who's done nothing. He's hasn't got a single managerial accolade, a style. Every ex SAF player is utterly clueless in management. They all use systems that only worked in the 90s/early 2000s. Football has developed so much since SAF. It's why, so many of peps ex players/staff turn into quality managers.

@@bartman01021988 He took them from 6th in the table to bottom. He was in charge for 15 games and had the worst record in the division over those 15 games. Eustace had 18 points from 11 matches. Rooney got 10 from 15. Of the last 20 matches they got 22 points, after the team confidence had been destroyed, and more managerial distruption because Tony Mowbrow had cancer. Still a much better points average than Rooney. If Rooney had managed just 11 points from 15 games, Birmingham would have stayed up. So yes, Rooney was the reason Birmingham got relegated.

rarely watch lower tier league, but can easily see all the problems from all the goals scored. 1. Loose man marking, no urgency no. 18 did not track back and ball watching. 2. There's 2 defenders to pressure 1 attacker in the box. Again no. 18 looks lost, is not aware of player behind him blindly following formation. 3. Can't even man mark last man and just let's him go.... 4. Goal keeper passing to a clearly marked man running towards own goal. Lastly most of the attack seems to be exploiting Plymouth's right side that's the weakest.

I am no great fan of Rooney but the guy was a teenage prodigy and was hammered by Fergie until he was shot to bits. As great a player as Modric has been he was nowhere near Rooney in both their primes, oh, and yes, Modric also resembled Gollum even as a young man.🙄

Lampard and Rooney enjoy coaching, but it seems this career path might not be the best fit for them. Despite their successful football careers, I have doubts about their coaching abilities; perhaps they should explore other opportunities beyond football. Being a great football player in your career doesn’t necessarily make you a great coach. For me, Rooney is not a good coach. He has a short temper, which makes it challenging for him to succeed as a coach or a leader. He gets frustrated easily, and I can’t help but wonder how he communicates with his players in such moments.

there's nothing to suggest lampard isnt a good coach. he pretty much met expecations at chelsea under a transfer embargo and launched the careers of youngsters like mason mount. he instilled a fighting spirit at everton and kept them safe from relegation, which hurt me as a liverpool fan. This result is just one game but also suggest he might know something rooney doesnt.

No dis to Plymouth but if Coventry had lost this methinks it would've been a very early exit for Frank the plank I've had money on Coventry last 2 seasons to go up and it has been ridiculously close but no luck This season I don't think they are going to make playoffs much as I'd love them to Not betting this season anyway Wasn't a lot of money I lost about a tenner that's all I'm actually a Forest supporter of nearly 50 years now but had a soft spot for Coventry as when I went to Highfield Road back in the good old days the people were really friendly and the banter wasn't too rough considering I was a little kid when I first went there Now they got the CBS Stadium That's cool after the disaster of the jaguar and Ricoh Wasn't there a time when they weren't even allowed to play in the stadium ? They have really been through the ringer So I have sympathy for the whole fiasco Shame Robbo was sacked he was a fantastic manager Fantastic player too Oh well good luck to both these teams I like Plymouth been down there only the once They can make a din I tell you Going to be difficult cause as good a player as Rooney was His management ain't gone great as Brum fans will testify Looks like they'll probably be coming straight back up though Be safe everyone CHEERS 🥂 ♥️🏐🥅⚽
