- I installed cheap valvetronic mufflers from ebay Alibaba for my BMW E92/E93 M3. Here is the exhaust sound review with revs and fly bys. These Alibaba mufflers from China are the same ones used by the name brand companies, just rebranded, so I thought I could save money and let you know what I think of the product. Loving it so far with the ability to sound LOUD or stock.

Its off-brand but i this this is valvetronics manufacturer. Its literally the same, just not 600 quid for 2 fn mufflers
Brand usually only matters by name lots of them use the same cheap “off brand” parts they just add their name to them
Keeps the key in the center tray "to look more OEM" then camera immediately pans to blue accent buttons and blue gauge cluster 😂

Thanks for the video. Food for thought about the vacuum pump. It is not needed IMO. I have similar end result (stock) on the E89 z4 35i with a vacuum actuated flap. You can take the vacuum from the engine (e.g. put a T- into the vac line going to the brake servo like on my car) and use the small pierburg vacuum valve 7.02318.01.0 as used on stock BMW setup ($25 or so), then you only need an electrical connector to pierburg valve, a key on/off 12v and negative (ground). You control that valve with ground on or off - super easy with toggle switch where the cig socket was. On my car there is also third option to leave the flap operation in stock form (flaps closed when idling and low rpm to avoid drone). Saying that these ebay mufflers seem exceptionally effective so the stock flap functionality may not be needed after all.

The exhaust is very enjoyable to cruise with valves open. I love that I was able to turn cold start back on with the valved exhaust my neighbors won’t be annoyed as well.

Sounds great! But it's hard to discern volume levels from the video.With the valves closed is there any drone at certain RPMs? Also with the valves closed how loud would you say it is compared to stock muffler?
Great question! No drone with valves closed or open! Even when the valve is open, there is baffles into the muffler that act like a helmoltz chamber which cancels out the drone.
With the valves closed, it is quieter than stock! I only hear induction noise

been trying to get rid of drone for a while on my c32 cruises 80 at 3k rpm stock muffler drone is perfectly fine, but any other "performance" mufflers i have tried drone like crazy. I have a resonator delete and want to keep it that way, how close to stock quiet was it and did it drone at all?
The valved mufflers sound quieter than stock when closed. You should not have any drone with the closed valves.
Good morning Sal, do you have both catalytics in ? Revoved ? I’m looking into this exhaust after watching your video! I have both primary and secondary catts removed with stock mufflers currently. What you think ? Maybe too loud without catts.
Both cats off, with resonators it’s not too loud.

Are the valved mufflers while open as loud or a little quieter compared to when u where just driving with the muffler delete? Thinking of getting this for me gt500 hehe.
It is a little quieter than a muffler delete and it doesn’t drone like a muffler delete. I would go for it!

What exact setup were you running in this video? Full stock with the valved mufflers?
Stock x-pipe, AA test pipes, and 2nd cat delete. Resonators still intact.
Hi sorry quick technical question. I have almost the same setup as you (i got 2x valve cutouts and welded it just before the stock OEM muffler instead).
Okay, you have a BPM tune right? That tune is matched with your 2-pipe mod (essentially straight piped). When you close your valves, does your tune automatically retard ignition timing (becase there’s backpressure when the valves are closed)?
Notice any significant hiccups/performance losses?
No hiccups, slight performance loss with valves closed, hard to notice. BPM did not tune for the valved exhaust

Negligible amount, I have gone 2 weeks without starting the car no issues.
Do you have a tune too or it backfires like that cause of the mufflers?
It’s a BPM sport stage 2 tune.
Did you guys have to adjust your tune after installing this setup?
No adjustments needed. I added back the cold start since mine was deleted to keep neighbors happy. Now I can just silence the cold start when I’m at home.

I know this is an older video, but does wiring the vacuum box to the battery cause draining issues? Does the battery die with the box hard wired to it?
No issues with battery drain, it also will stop power to the box if the battery gets too low.

Hey man, great video! I just picked up an E90 M3 and want to do the same thing. The price for the ebay valved mufflers is now up to $317 per side, so $634 total. Do you think it's still worth it at that price point?
Absolutely, still cheaper than many aftermarket exhausts and the valves are very useful

I had wondered if these are the same mufflers as the on'es sold by the company valvetronic designs. Is there any difference at all? I believe they claim theres are at least made of stainless 304 were the ones you purchased the same?
Yes they are the same, but Valvetronic uses better quality valves and custom emblems. I haven’t had any issues with mine so far after one year. These ones are also stainless steel 👍

they run off the supplied vacuum pump instead of the car's vacuum.

A little bit, but I have a gutted interior.

Yes and you can program it to your garage opener button on the rear view mirror.

You don’t think that grommet being open can risk water getting in during heavy rain?
Not at all unless you drive through a heavy flood. It’s about 2.5 feet from the ground and located in a hard to reach spot for small splashes of water to reach. 👍

It’s the same muffler that Valvetronic Designs uses, just rebranded. I went this route since it’s much cheaper.

will it drains the battery? my friend had a Valvetronic on his M3 before and it was draining his battery all the time...maybe it's not your starter?
Thanks Carl! I hard wired it to the IBS sensor, not the battery itself so there is no discharge issue, 12.6 volts every time 😊. I have error code for the starter so I’m sure that is the reason for the startup issue.
