Kind of like waling through a giant manufacturing plant and pulling wires out and turning valves randomly as you walk through the factory. ONLY LOUDER.
Idea: Get another one (or the basically the same PSS-290), bend that, and add a way to sync it from the modular.

This is why i love bending
I used to start off with a PSS480 and went upward towards PSS780 because of the multitimbral MIDI options. The Yamaha MIDI mapping is completely different from General MIDI, so be prepared to create a complete drum and instrument mapping to be able to playback Gen MIDI songs.
The Cello preset sound made me buy back the PSS780 after selling mine. Later I found my way to Yamaha XG based soundcards and keyboards such as DB50XG daughterboard and CS1X synthesizer.
I am not yet tempted to circuit bend the PSS, so I am happy that you did instead ;-)

The PSS 280 reminds me muchly of my PSS 390 that I have. I bet the PSS 390 is more powerful than the PSS 280. More styles, more memory to record tracks and so on..

I Circuit Bent a PSS-270 with some overdrive bends that makes the drums sound industrial. Shout out to the guy who did this one since the PSS series is a difficult and time consuming bend project.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER i wish, nah its a 2 op as well nothing fancy. iirc yamaha OPN soundchips for the most part are 4 op and the dx7 and similar are 6 op i think
