While I've always been skeptical of celebrity branded or endorsed food products, I've been especially wary of these new "Chef Ramsay" frozen dinners. Between Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, and especially Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon became a reality TV star who's been quoted and meme'd countless times over. He famously doesn't like when restaurants freeze food and ingredients that should be kept fresh, does not like over-reliance on microwaves, and outside of his shows has famously denounced frozen, prepared meals. It's clear that that he signed off upon this line of products without any thought or attention put toward it, possibly even selling out entirely, and that the company who produced these wanted to invoke his restaurants and famously strict quality control he's demonstrated on television by branding them "Chef Ramsey". I consider this a dangerous combination because it shows an even deeper lack of QC and reliance on branding than normal. I don't envy the journey you're about to embark upon, Kev, but thank you all the same for trying these so we don't have to. Hope you got plenty of ginger ale and Pepto Bismol handy.
Your vocabulary and writing skills far surpass mine. I admire when someone can write/speak well, cuz I can’t and work much better with numbers. But reading your comment and how easy it was to just keep reading cuz how well it was written, I like it. I disagree, yes Ramsey HATES restaurants using frozen food. These clearly aren't meant for a resturant type of experience. It's a 5 to 6 minute microwave frozen meal and probably only a few dollars. So no this won't compete to what you see Ramsey making on his shows, but its not suppose to.

For a guy who made a living making fun of of bad chefs, Gordon making frozen microwave meals, especially of this quality is ironic. Reminds me of the time he made a vid on grilled cheese and really messed up. Burnt the bread (olive oil in a cast iron, in a fireplace), used hard cheese that didn't melt, etc. Kind of like a real life Chef Skinner from Ratatouille.

I actually ate this for my supper yesterday, I love Chicken Piccata. Paid 6.99 at the Walmart in Hamburg PA. Pretty much word for word I agree with the review, the sauce was actually pretty good but had VERY few capers. I was definitely disappointed that I spent that 6.99 on this TV dinner.
Thanks for trying it. I'm a bit put off by the broccoli. I love broccoli, but it unfortunately takes over the smell and a bit of the taste of a frozen meal most times. I hope the mac n cheese is a winner!

I love that you are trying these. I have yet to do so because the price point is really high, nealry $7 at walmart where I live. Way too much for a frozen meal. I think you should also review the Guy Fieri brand too as well as the meals from Andrew Zimmern, Kardea Brown, and Martha Stewart (they are usually all together in the freezer section). I definitely trust your judgement because you are honest! 💙
Love the Gen X approach of, "I'm gonna try it first" before judging. lol. Over cooked broccoli smells like farts and just no for a frozen dinner. I don't even own a microwave, so I can't even imagine what that smells like. Thanks for the review. Looking forward to the rest of them.

I've seen a few people try his meal lineup and the overall opinions are that most of the options are 5/10 or below with a couple of em being good at least for a tv dinner. the chicken pot pie and "lasagna" seem to be the best. I think theres about 12 different "meals" in the lineup. Would love to see your take on the beef wellington and crab cakes.
We are camping and our propane kicked on us so we are using microwave only cuz it's raining... We had these last night and they were delicious. I agree the breading idea sounded weird but it tasted LOVELY. Decent proportions too. Broccoli was definitely overcooked tho.
Kev, allow me to be real all these new Walmart meals are made of trash ingredients they needed to offload. The one one I had was the Gordons fishbes, but even they were still mid. I worked for them for many years and when I tell you Walmart is bad place I mean it. Heres a fun game: go into the store dressed a little off kemp, make a few glances around; before not long the AP goons will be following you. They really dont like it when you behind them, try it and youll see! They cant touch you, so its funny
Usually on a TV Dinner, it says remove from box. I couldn't understand why it said remove from box until my Dad set the oven on fire!! When I left home in 1968, I could make Fudge and Potato Salad, TV dinners have come a long way, Baby. They were awful, but edible if you was really hungry!!!
id much rather have a gortons fish sandwich on a brioche, with some fries. i add a bit of kerry gold butter on top of the fish patty when it comes out of the oven, move it around and let it the fish absorb it. a lot less dry that way.

Ive seen sauce on breaded chicken countless times. Im pretty sure its not breaded in this instance to be crispy, its breaded to soak up the sauce and carry more flavour.
Isn’t that what they do with chicken Parmesan take a crispy chicken cutlet, cover it with sauce and cheese to then nullify the crispiness of all the work you put into it
If it's freshly made that texture usually remains throughout the eating experience, but for a frozen meal that will sit for quite some time idk why they would do this.
Only thing I can think of is hes being held hostage somewhere and forced to sign his name away to these frozen meals. Because there’s no fu**ing way these meals are approved by him😂
I really want to try more, I’ve only had the fish and chips, i made it in the air fryer because of the directions having that as an option. So it might not be crispy if it’s in the microwave than.
The fact that Gordon put out a microwave dinner after all of those years of ridiculing people for doing the exact same thing makes me think he just doesn't give a damn anymore. His standards dropped way below the acceptable line. No more respect for Gordon. He has said F the food game, he is now living strictly off of his celebrity. I feel so bad for him. He is a sell out!
Tilapia farmers use chicken manure as their primary food source. Once I found out about this, I never ate it again. There are several RUclips videos about this subject.

That's crazy. Even the nicest frozen meals I see at the store only go up to 4 or 5 dollars, and this one looks terrible even it cost 4 dollars!

Lean Cuisine has a tilapia one that's actually quite edible.
Most tilapia comes from China, so you might want to reconsider that as a choice.
