@@Vincent-fv1ch I mean BIL is just another extremely clever exploit of that one bullet time velocity glitch, the same one as BTB. From a gameplay/speedrun perspective it's way more useful, but not from a technical one, or one of game capability. We're dealing with some pretty game-breaking levels of code-screwing here.
I'm not sure if this is gonna take off much in speedrunning because it's so hard to set up (and the rules status of save file manipulation is kinda hazy), but it's a huge addition to the library of crazy glitches
After ACE and SRM in Ocarina of Time and Barrier Skip in Wind Waker, I never doubt the power of glitches. This game is going to be torn apart over the years if Ocarina is any example.
The glitches in this are some of the most interesting of any game. It's especially impressive considering this game isn't glitchy at all in a casual playthrough.
I cannot believe it happened. I have been watching this speedrun community for 3 years now and I've been waiting. Breath of the Wild has officially been obliterated.
If you do it with menu overloading then I don't think you can since you can't drop the bow of light, but there are others method which I don't know about
I found that you can take the obliterator off the plateau if you do early Master Cycle, but it still makes you 1/4 heart, and only does 1 damage. Although on the plateau, it NEVER runs out of power for 10 seconds. Also, don’t wait for your elemental weapons to charge, swap off then back and it’s instantly charged.
Yea, based on the way leaving the plateau works, it would make sense you can't get a second glider. I don't think the quest items are actually "items" per-say, rather they are just the visual representation of the flag for having done that part of the game being flipped on.
Yeah this channel is the only one where the ratio is unusually low. Most of the time they wave that graphic in your face and go "Only x% of my viewers are subscribed" and I'm like "that's actually quite a good retention rate, stop complaining." People have no sense of statistic relativity...
The ironic thing about the subscriber percentage thing, yours being so low it is actually reasonable for you to point it out, but I have seen other youtubers doing this who have literally 75% of their viewers subscribed. Silly silly.
Everyone copied that idea from dream I suppose Eventually even pewdiepie did it He has literally 80% subscribed and still pointed it out I just found that hilarious
You talked about risks of corrupting the game. Do you know what can cause it? If so does it corrupt the game file or the whole game setup? Anyways thx for the great video as always ^^
I feel like this has such huge implications for speed-running, or am I wrong? Would it still be considered a true speed-run if you started the run with the paraglider/bow of light? If it IS okay, then we could have majorly short any% speed-run times!
Yeah... first of all, it doesn't seem fair to compare this to current any%. So a new category would probably be made. Second of all, speedrunners generally like to be able to run a category over and over again, so the setup will be a huge discouragement for them. I'd be surprised if people flocked to it.
@@Nat_the_Chicken I mean, you only have to do the setup once, right? Just don't save over the beginning file. The real issue is how you fairly compare people with different setups. Unless they norm what you bring to ng+, you can't really compare two runs.
@@clydefrosch Yeah true I guess. The only problem with the file is that you're always loading one that saved in the Shrine of Resurrection. You only get the intro cutscene the first time you do it, so it probably wouldn't _technically_ be considered a new game if you just load it.
Wow that is cool! I wish there was a way to get off the Plateau without having to set up a file first, but this is still quite cool and teaches runners and glitch hunters a lot about how the game works.
Kind of sad that after all that, a multi shot lynel bow with ancient arrows still out damages the bow of light. Only difference is the arrow travels further without dropping but there's other bows for that as well since mostly you only use that for farming dragon imo. Aside from those points, it's still nice to get the bow of light just for aesthetic/collection reasons. Just a painful glitch to go through for it lol.
Well yeah... Isn't Bow of Light 100 damage? I think Lynel Bow X5 variant is 160 damage... But you don't need arrows for the Bow of Light, it has much better range capabilities as Lynel needs to be really close to hit all shots and it looks cool I guess
EDIT: I did this for fun, and I got several things wrong here (including in the reply). Don't follow this as a guide. Limcube just came out with his actual tutorial video for this where he explained precisely how to pull it off, so watch that instead: ruclips.net/video/qChrm-WhwiM/видео.html I analyzed the menuing sequence he had to do to get that memory prompt up, frame by frame. It goes something like this (arrows are left stick inputs, I believe): You start out with a nearby side quest marked in the Adventure Log, your inventory cursor over the Medallion, pull up your Slate menu, go into the compendium and have that cursor over a new entry (one you're not searching for). Then, quickly: Y + A A ↑ A - L L Move the cursor quickly over the map to highlight the side quest Y ↓ A A A B (I think, not sure about that B) At this point you should have the "View memory" prompt overlaid on the game. The steps after that are easier to follow: just DON'T press the D-pad, walk over to the fire (so you see the button prompt), press +, R, select Load (be careful NOT to select View memory or Cancel), select any file, and confirm the load (again making sure NOT to select the memory prompt buttons). Then DIE. No pausing allowed. Quit to title screen after death, and start a new game. Now you get to set up your inventory to transfer!
EDIT: See the edit message above. (It turns out that the precise menu locations of the side quest and memory you use are much more important than how long you spend on the map, and thus more important than your location relative to the side quest.) Original reply message: It doesn't matter that much, but this might be a little easier to pull off at a fire at the location of a side quest marker. (I'm not sure if the fire has to be a cooking pot.) The Mounted Archery Camp comes to mind: you can talk to the man to get the Giant Horse quest, make sure that's selected in your Adventure Log, light the cooking pot, and then you'll be right on top of the marker with the pot handy. Or you could even use any of the Hateno side quests at the location he was at; not sure why he didn't. Remember to obtain at least one memory (preferably Subdued Ceremony), Sheikah Sensor+, two Compendium entries, and the Travel Medallion on the first file beforehand!
A lot of people don't seem to know that you can get fairies from cutting grass outside of the great plateau. Just get a one handed sword and do some spin attacks. You can get up to 3 fairies right after getting the glider
Thanks a lot there’s not many people that gave credits to kinak for the ems glitch. In fact it’s a team work by members of Aife’s Discord but yep legendofflink and kinak did most of the work
So I have 3 questions: 1. If you pick up the Bow of Light and transfer it to the other savefile does the game still work like normal? Because I remember that if you glitched the Bow of Light outside of the Dark Best battle that your savefile got messed up but in your video everything looks normal. 2. Can you transfer The Bow of Light from a Normal Mode savefile to a Master Mode savefile? I mean it should work right? At least I haven't seen anything in the video why it shouldn't work. Just wanting to make sure. 3. If you transfer The durability of the Bow of Light to another bow will the Bow also have unlimited durability or is it Impossible to transfer The durability? The Bow of Light technically doesn't lose any durability so can you even transfer its durability?
1-The bow of light cant be transfered to any files rn only works in normal mode sadly 2-No the bow of light has 100 durability the game just doesnt let it break.
That 3 bow of light thing happened to me a couple days ago when I was playing on pc with mods. I had given myself one bow of light and when I got to dark beast and picked the other one up it gave me 2. Weird glitch 🤔
With glitches, you can: Get Max Health and Stamina Skew Clip and windbomb to avoid all of trial of the sword Copy a tool's durability to another tool And now get 3 bows of light

@@Limcube Damn that sucks...oh well I was already planning on another playthrough since I'm going to try keeping the bow and my maxed out master sword.
Now the question is; is the one-hit-obliterator hard-coded to reduce you health to a quarter heart, or is that just a part of the cutscene that triggers when you pick it up? If it doesn't reduce you to a quarter heart, you could one-hit obliterate everything in the game without worrying about damage. Guardians, gold lynels, hinox, blight Ganons, etc.
i’m trying to do the part of the glitch where you do all of the button inputs really quickly. do you recommend that i look at the switch while doing it? because i’ve been looking at a sheet of paper with all of the inputs in it edit: here’s the inputs i have written down; - Y + A A △ A - L L (select quest) Y ▽ A A A ▷A
Does the Bow of Light break? Or is it literally coded in the game to be impossible to break (since it's one of only 2 ways to kill the boss of the game)? I'd like to know so that, when I eventually attempt this glitch (and hopefully succeed), I'd like to know if I still need to use the [durability transfer] glitch to "repair" the Bow of Light.
I don't get how some botw channels get crazy views and other do not. I've been making botw content that literally no one else is making and I can't pull traffic. Would love to know how you do it! :)
Nah, it wouldn't. It requires too much setup. It's a fun gimmick category, but not really fit to replace any% just yet. They'd need to find some ways to make it work in a different way before that's the case.
@@thenonexistinghero the timer only starts when you start the new game, any preparation/glitches before it are allowed. but I don't know, we'll have to see what the future holds.
Sadly I don’t think the One-Hit Obliterator will be possible. The game checks for two things to see if it is active: the player is in the respective part of the Champions' Ballad sidequest, and the player is on the Great Plateau. Otherwise the weapon becomes useless and/or it is removed from the inventory. The first part looks like it may be possible with this glitch if quest status is transferred between files, but unless you can trick the game into thinking you are on the plateau it seems unlikely. Unlike with how (which was proved here) the game only checks for the paraglider to be able to leave the tutorial. I hope to be proven wrong, these weird glitches are always being discovered. Source: zeldamods.org/wiki/One-Hit_Obliterator
I’d be surprised if this is allowed in any%. When Super Mario Land, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, and a lot more games had glitches discovered that allows realm warping or glitched new game+, they weren’t allowed and they just made a new category that is literally just any% but allows the glitch. A lot of people including me thinks it just breaks the spirit of the speedrunning.
As long as I can carry the Bow Of Light into a NG+ without carrying over anything else, this is perfect. If not, it's a cool glitch, but useless to me personally. I guess I can avoid carrying other items by eating them with the menu glitch.
Complicated joke incoming: Beating Ganon normally even with the secret ending doesn't change anything, you will get a star and completion % to your sheikah slate. *You complete the quest but you don't save.* Nothing really changes, the quest completion is forgotten. Nintendo is giving us a middle finger there. However, the extra DLCs that could have went to BotW are implemented in BotW 2. *Because we didn't have enough paitence, we found a complicated bug that WILL change what happens after Ganon.* That bug has connections to the sentence in bold in the *previous* paragraph. The one which was the biggest middle finger. (tied with the korok poop you get from all 900 korok seeds) U mad Nintendo? Hopefully not, bc I and many other want to try this bug so plz don't update the game and fix this thx. And don't let Nintendo see this comment.
I don't know maybe I am stupid, but my storage didn't transfer. I did everything correctly and got this glitched beginning, but I immediately got the scene where Link gets the Shika Slate. I then reloaded the File and my storage didn't transfer. Please help. Someone.
Is this gonna be used in Any% or is it just gonna be like a sub-category? Cause it would be really cool. Edit: Yes i did realize that Any% starts from the title screen Edit 2: Ok now i know it wont because it takes too much time
After getting through the game with no deaths, when I reload a save file, can it be any save file? Like can I do the glitch in normal mode, then load a master mode file?
As great as the plateau skip is, I doubt that a lot of people will actually accept this as an any% run because it is clearly new game +, so either it won't be used or it will be a seperate category.

@@TheGameChallenger "Any glitch that persists throughout save files or new game must be removed before the run." -any% rules on speedrun.com
@@superpup71 oh ok so it will become another category, still cool.
@@TheGameChallenger indeed.

Getting Skyward Sword vibes. You know, the glitch with which you speedrun a new Hero Mode
So since this isn’t faster than any% do you think there will be a lowest% category now where this is involved to skip as much as possible?
THANK YOU! This deserves more views
I was gonna say this would be amazing for 100% until I heard you can't die or save. I guess still possible for 100 but hard af
Complicated joke incoming:
Beating Ganon normally even with the secret ending doesn't change anything, you will get a star and completion % to your sheikah slate.
(tied with the korok poop you get from all 900 korok seeds)
U mad Nintendo? Hopefully not, bc I and many other want to try this bug so plz don't update the game and fix this thx. And don't let Nintendo see this comment.
I don't know maybe I am stupid, but my storage didn't transfer. I did everything correctly and got this glitched beginning, but I immediately got the scene where Link gets the Shika Slate. I then reloaded the File and my storage didn't transfer. Please help. Someone.
Well boys, we've officially broken speedrunning
This is the first video of yours youtube has recommended to me... Gotta see a few more before I decided to subscribe.
Uh oh, the speedrunners are coming back after 3 years
This game has been speedrunned since it came out until now so I dont know what youre talking about
So you cant touch the dpad the entire time, until dark beast is done? Or you just cant touch the dpad on the first file where you setup the medallion?
What are the intro and Outro songs
for the emperor
Is this gonna be used in Any% or is it just gonna be like a sub-category? Cause it would be really cool.
Edit: Yes i did realize that Any% starts from the title screen
Edit 2: Ok now i know it wont because it takes too much time
so because you have the glider , does that make the kill box around the plateau go away?
After getting through the game with no deaths, when I reload a save file, can it be any save file? Like can I do the glitch in normal mode, then load a master mode file?
Nice! This really looks interesting to at least try
As great as the plateau skip is, I doubt that a lot of people will actually accept this as an any% run because it is clearly new game +, so either it won't be used or it will be a seperate category.
14:56 S-Tier Zelda Player they said. xD
If two Master swords are possible, I wonder if they both go to rest together.
And I thought cloning 4 heart pieces to a filled out heart meter and 3 full stamina wheels broke my game. This is next level shit.
Should I use this glitch on the file I have a lot of sentimental value on or should I play it safe in case it ruins my file
I was watching something else
But I needed to see this
i got a clip like the one lim got at the end but mine was with the dark beast fight going also
link to clip if anyone wants to see ruclips.net/video/JBzW4iXoKcY/видео.html
Can this glitch work with a new master mode file? My main account is on normal and I haven’t really played master mode that much.
This is skyward sword all over again
I really appreciate that you trim every unnecessary moment from your vids
what if the same glitch is performed on the new game+ file? a really slow duping method?
I think i can literally hear BotW gasping for Breath...
Yeah i already Tried the memory storage glitches but its really hard to Pull of
I spammed thousand tweets of how angry i got by that 😂
its crazy hard but worth it to pull off
@@Limcube thats right
I did IT once yet but then i messed Up the stuff afterwards
is it possible to transfer the zelda's savefile from a profile to another profile in the same switch?
Yay! You did it!
I really wanna know if the 1 hit obliterator does actually 1 hit Ganon
This is so fucking convoluted.
That cooking pot be so lit tho ngl
