What camera inspires you to shoot more?
the Mamiya 7 as well :) and my Hasselblad 203 FE. love them both for different reasons
@@MarcS4R Such a sick combo right there
Even though I have a digital Leica Q2, my analog Leica M-A is my primary weapon now. Of course, Q2’s image quality is beast, but M-A always gives me challenges in every situation. Sometimes I make the wrong focus, or the over / under exposure, but these ‘mistakes’ also give unique gems.
Olympus Mju 400 Digital
@@milanovevlogy heck yeah!
I was like “yeah cool, you’re happy with your camera. Great.” and then after seeing the moments you captured with it I’m watching with eyes wide open hahaha so good! I’m more inspired by discussions and other photographers. Perhaps because I haven’t come across a gear that inspires me yet?
That means a lot thanks so much. Appreciate the kind words!
That portrait at 6:27 is BEAUTIFUL! the light, the colours, the shadows in the background, ... awesome work!
Appreciate it!
So well put! Love your work!
Thank you so much!
Thank you sir, love the comparison… i like the fuji wide with all its mechanical ❤
Thanks man!
Beautiful video Gene!!! man how the hell do you grade you canon R5 Footage and what profile do you shoot with? the ones on this video is just amazing!!
Thanks man! I use phantom luts and love them. And I shoot cinema gamut, that’s the secret
@@geneyoon11 thank you for sharing! I had tried them before but didn’t get the right results might have to give another go. Thanks for creating videos, love watching and hearing you thoughts of various topics. Looking forward to future videos 👊🏽🙌🏽
I am using my Bronica SQ right now after a year break. Try to push myself to use this small brick with my commercial work and it's really work. Sometimes you need a break. Thinking about your camera. Cause it is more light weight and more portable. I am work often with sport so less weight it's important for me. Cool video btw
Yeah definitely one of the things I like most about my camera is how portable and light it is relative to other 6x7 medium format cameras. Thanks for the kind words too!
@@geneyoon11 welocme and keep going! :)
Amazing photos. Amazing story
My man! Thanks brother, keep crushing what you’re up to
Equipment "feel" is so important for me, especially shutter sound. I shoot film because of its tactile involvement in the process of loading and developing, adjustment etc which is why I can't shoot a camera like this one or a leica for that matter. The cost mainly is a deterrent but what irritates me the most is that dull uninspiring metal "Clink" sound of the shutter. I need to feel the camera working to capture the image and for me the Mamiya 6/7, leaf shutter cameras etc just feel so dull at every shutter actuation. That's just me personally and you prove how equipment matters with the unbelievably beautiful images you captured!
Thanks man that means a lot!
Nice video. For me, the best thing about the Mamiya7 is its size and weight. I travel and hike a lot, so it's great to have a 6x7 camera in such a compact form.
thanks man! Couldn't agree more
My Nikon F from 1964 inspires me to keep taking photos.
Heck yeah that’s awesome!
really great images
thanks so much!
I like what you say about accessibility. It's like an anti-snob manifesto. Cameras are for everyone.
100%!
The Mamiya 7 has been my dream camera for years and I’ll be finally purchasing one.
Let’s gooooo!
Funny, film inspired you and for me when the first digital camera came out and I was able to afford one I dumped my film camera.
Haha love it
Bro the Pickwick theatre in Park Ridge. I live around the corner from there. Are you in PR too?
Hi, Is it worth buying the Mamiya 7 II + 80mm f/4 £3500-£3800? User says it is immaculate. Is it too risky to buy as they are old. User says he bought it new in 2003. Is this camera recommended for portraits and travel?
Hard to say since I've never shot on the version 2. It's great for travel, but it's not necessarily known to be a camera for portraits.
My nikon FM!
Also the photo of Joe at 6:30 🤯😱🤧
Heck yeah! And yessir 😏
great video
appreciate it!
I am literally going through now what you went through 2 years ago. Not feeling inspired by my digital work. Went out and shot a roll of film and feel rejuvenated again. So much that I went online 2 weeks ago to pick up the Mamiya 7. Excited for this next chapter of film photography in my life. Also, just wondering...how do you get those film stock borders on your images? Thanks and great video.
That’s super rad! Stoked that you got the MAmiya 7! I scan myself, and I use the Negative Supply set up and it allows you to scan with the borders of the negatives.
@@geneyoon11 thanks!
@@edisonvuong How much did you pay for it and which lens did you pick up?
2k and 80mm 4.0.
dope vid, whats the song at 20 seconds?
Oh man I can't remember, but it's from Musicbed!
What film do you use?
a bunch but usually kodak!
Is that your 645 on the table? What's wrong with that, creatively?
Nothing!
desperadoooo for this video edit style? I dont make videos yet but would love to vlog and love the coloring of this. Please sell it to me!
Hahaha just took practice!
I got a 7II 2 years ago, and very happy with it, the cherry on top, its worth twice what I paid for it, in case I go in a different direction.
Haha it's crazy how much film cameras have appreciated in value over recent years
I was looking to sell the Mamiya 7 with 50mm lens + viewfinder
Such a fun camera
i thought you were nick cogan at first lol
Nice!
Too many Fat rolls ruining many rolls. No CLA Available
dang
Man got bored watching this. No inspiration and no enthusiasm. Need to find another video
ouch
The Beauty this video holds...i can't describe it using some mere words 🤌🏻
Just curious about how you turn film into digital... using any specific device for scanning if yes please do mention. Thankyou.
Thanks so much for the kind words! I use a Canon R5 to scan all my film negatives!
