The Hatsuharu was ok but the shiratsuyu feels exactly like a tier 6 yudachi with the advantage of a torpedo reload booster.

I use either of the IJN commanders with twist and track on Japanese DDs with slow traverse speeds. It helps find , or avoid the enemy, but it increases traverse speed quite a bit. The Halloween commander from last year is one, and Kurita is the other. If you have the chance to get Van Helsing again, he is well worth it. Similar to Tanaka, but with Twist and Track. He also can be set up as a gunboat captain. Most of the IJN torps load fast enough that Kurita isn’t a bad option. Togo can also speed up traverse, but you lose some concealment. Togo+Bey+Swirski is a pretty good setup too. Then you don’t lose as much concealment, and still have some torpedo perks.
Torps are 6km, not 11.6. Concealment: 6.5km with Jersey at rank 15...They must have changed this ship.
At tier 5 I like the Mahan...Good guns, fair concealment, and a prolific ambush predator.
(And "yeah," you should have dodged to the left and got behind that Island. It doesn't matter how long we play the game it's always the rookie mistakes that kill us 😭)

I started the Alaska project since coming back to Legends mid-October and I'm currently halfway in the 5th segment and have nearly completed the legendary birthday project (thx wargaming for allowing me to chain so much free premium time 😅)
I think I might complete the Alaska project either end December or very early January
@@effisjens1776 don’t let first game impressions fool you. Alaska may not be the strongest at the moment ( I say this form experience) but I’m willing to bet when the Legendary destroyers start coming out in force Alaska will be a lot more viable. Currently I hate playing Alaska because I get focused by the other Legendary ships and die before I can impact the game, but I have faith things will change.

One tip I can give you is try to do the assignments against AI is fast and easy i don't play a lot so everyday I log in and do them fast and I got it a little bit faster
I find the akatsuki more fun to play out of all the dds I though the kagero would be fun but idk what it is I just don't like it

@@SpartanElite43 thanks. I think i got it now. You need 25 of one camo to make perm then the paint is to upgrade the perm camo. Appreciate it.

I got through the tier 4 without tearing out my hair. I think I might skip this one because the Fubuki is better.

Lies AP is ok if your close within 2km. Honestly you wanna balance your guns and torps with this ship. I do like this ship it honestly need a torp reload booster. If you would have push around the island towards the queen you could have survived being extremely close to him.

Does anyone know how to unlock the Grade 1 Permanent Camo for the Hatsuharu?
Hopefully have as much fun in this as I do the tier 4. Love myself a DD to ruin peoples days
Minekaze is a beast Hatsu is very finicky. Balance between torps and guns but try to stay undetected. But if you have to shoot use a smoke screen vs cruisers and bbs you can demolish dds if you catch them off guard.
I kinda disagree. I've been having descent games in the Hatsuharu.

Many thanks Spartan. Hatsuharu and Shiratsuyu are just a pain barrier to limit the number of Dakazuki's entering the game. The Hatsu was so bad that I used GXP to get through for the first time in ages. Shiratsuyu is a little better but it is up against much better opposition + Radar+ 5.5km Hydro. You have to be super aware of your surroundings - the Guns are a liability - you have to show so much side to get decent damage that every other ship will shred you and you are too slow to run away once spotted. Even full stealth build, Akatsuki can hit for 3k if they realise that they can shoot versus your 500-1000hp return shots

I've been using Lutjens on GK, cause of the sonar build.
From what I’ve seen, these Japanese gunboats are trying to be something their not. If you want gunboats, you should play the US destroyers. I understand they were trying to add options for Japanese destroyers but so far this gunboat line is a hard pass, other nations are built for this kind of thing and do it infinitely better.
It’s because they really aren’t gunboats. I’m only up to to hatsuharu myself, but it’s all about that akizuki. That thing is a gunboat monster!
Technically the Japanese destroyers are torpedo boats.

I'm waiting for the day when ship flags buff ship capabilities. Such as ship speed increase, stealth buff, armor or health buff, ect.... With a limit of 2 or 3 flags to be placed on 1 ship, I'm sure a ton of Japanese destroyer players would love flag combos of both stealth buff, ship speed increase and a decrease to enemy torpedo detection (or) switch it out for an increase to torpedo speed. With a huge variety of buffs to just about anything, possibilities are endless.

Can't make a video on something that doesn't exist yet in the game. I have no idea how they will be implemented so I cannot say if they will ruin the game or not.
