I somtimes wonder if other YTubers watch their own recordings only to then realise the camera angles are less than ideal for teaching viewers anything much about what is going on . On the other hand , I appreciate the time you take to get the camera in position so that every heat insert , ,screw , component can be seen clearly , close up , with the necessary instructions in the dialogue.
In brief , your vids make for excellent , instructive viewing.
Thank you so very much. I do try, I don't always do things as well as I would have liked, but just like the printing hobby, video production is a learning experience. Your comment is very much appreciated! 😀
I am just starting to get the parts printed for my first voron, this video was super helpful. Cheers mate👍🇦🇺😊
I'm working on another series and plan to take a bit of a dive in to setting up a slicer and picking a plan on how to go about printing parts. There are a lot of things and some tips that are easily overlooked.
@@BuildItBasementthat sounds like a great idea. A deep dive on mainsail/klipper issues might be a good idea also. Like what is a klipper log and how do I derive useful information from it might be a good idea. When I get an error it usually means hours of googling and I assume there is information in the logs that would be helpful.
Awesome, the great camera angles helped me with my StealthBurner. Thanks!
Glad to help - let me know if you need anything further. Every build is a little different!
One way to do cut the tube might be to; make an 11 block with a hole in it, then use the razor blade to cut it flush.
Thanks for the idea - I may do that on the next build.
West 3D titanium backers came with extra titanium screws that are long enough to hold the small board to the fan.
Thanks for letting people know! Almost all 3D printer part vendors do a great job. I always suggest you keep these folks in the loop on issues you find out suggestions for minor changes in the products they sell. Happy to hear West3D is keeping up with these things and making changes as needed!
@@BuildItBasement I don't know. Fysect flipped the center LED 90 so it hits the nub in the holder and breaks the resistor off. Told them. They linked to a special holder I was supposed to print. Didn't say anything about it when I bought it. I posted a warning on their sale page but they haven't included the info last I looked. So this is the second problem I've had with buying their stealthburner kit.
Nice build. What's the filament used for the blue portion of the printed parts?
Sparta3D Sparkle Fluorescent Blue - Great stuff!
Also what’s the deal with thread locker and ABS? I haven’t heard that before
Well... It's a known that thread locker can cause issues with some plastics. I have done some very UNSCIENTIFIC tests and I believe two things - (1) Thread locker is not going to destroy a part if used in moderation and some care is taken to not completely cover parts. (2) A solid form is less likely to cause issues. And, as a bonus, don't use materials that may contain acetone as thread lockers (clear nail polish). Most of the issue spawns from the RC car industry where people use nylon and ABS nuts/screws. I agree that using thread locker on plastic nuts/screws is a bad idea.
@@BuildItBasement cheers mate I never knew that
Quick question, Where did you get the file for the Rapido? I only fing the UHF stl file and that one is longer. I have almost the same build as you do
I'm currently out of town, however I recall the stl file being over if the options in the stealth burner build files, I assume you looked there already? I believe it's here, I'm on my phone... github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-Stealthburner/blob/main/CAD/Printheads/Stealthburner_Printhead_Rapido.STEP
@@BuildItBasement Thank you. I was looking in the STL folder. I didn't relize the STEP files were in the CAD folder. Thank you
@@BuildItBasement After further review, I was able to print the back half of the hotend piece, i can't find the front half. All the files in there are for different version of the back half on the pheatus.
@@ItsDaPlumber this evening or tomorrow I'll reply, I'm currently in the woods hiking. All of the files should be included in the zip file that includes the build manual
@@BuildItBasement I'm so sorry! enjoy your time off. I will keep looking
Mine has problems where it stops the print in mid print.
So sad that it does not work quite as expected
Any more details? Is the whole printer or does the extruder stop working? Let me know if I can help. Mid print stoppage usually is due to a loose wire and the MCU freaking out. Do you see anything in your Klipper interface (Mainsail or Fluidd)
Is that a different SB cover? I see the vents on front bottom.
Yes it is. This cover includes room for the 3DO 4K camera and looks nicer than the original IMHO. Can be found here: github.com/3DO-EU/nozzle-camera/blob/main/printers/Voron_Stealthburner/Cam_mount_SB%20mod%20by%20Panzarkatten/STLs/Cam_mount_SB-Grille.stl
Just a remark about the rapido. Because it can draw up to 100 W you should connect it in the bed connectors on the MCU. And change the pins in the config. This is official LDO policy btw.
💙💛
