  • I arrived in Santiago during The Ascension Festivities, and I was not really ready for big crowds yet, andI still wanted some time to process all the emotions and thoughts.. so I couldn't stay one night in Santiago as originally planned... that said, around 12ish I kept walking and it was amazing to be alone with my thoughts (and the birds and the water sounds) again.
The first stage is amazing. Specially the medieval bridge and area. The river water was icy cold, and it even hurt to put my legs in, but they were happy for the "cold plunge". The municipal albergue is very cool and with regular beds (no bunk beds), albeit a little walk from town, but I dropped off my stuff, had a nice shower and went out for my first pulpo. Filmed on May 9, 2024. Overcast with sunny breaks (10C to 26C; 50ºF to 78ºF). 90% pavement/pavers/concrete
Stay: Albergue Municipal de Negreira (to be posted)
    Cost breakdown:
    Breakfast: from supplies
    Lunch: €10.5
    Postcards: €10
    Dinner: €21
Fruit, cheese and more supplies: €14.5
    Albergue: €10
    Total: €66
