Denise Tanguilig no, actually, Krystal was scouted by her visuals and as far as I remember Luna got in through her dancing. Both were recruited, regardless of if they actually had to audition later or not (I can't remember if they did).
Victoria was recruited through dancing, too, and Sulli was an actress before she auditioned for SM.
Amber was the only f(x) member who literally came out of nowhere and only had her singing to gain her points with SM - also, she was cast through a Global Audition, which probably means a few thousand competitors.
