Communism, yes; Socialism, don't agree with that whatsoever. The Scandinavian countries are socialistic country's that offer a higher standard of living and equality over most if not all countries in the Western World. The U.K is also part of a socialized system. Look at how they handled Covid with their socialistic system. Their National Health System has came through this with flying colors and the furlough govt safety net from the u.k govt has kept the entire working population receiving 80 percent of their monthly salary since Covid ravaged the nation a year ago. What's happened under capitalism here in the U.S after Covid. No safety net, no help, an absolute botched covid response, mass job losses, mass foreclosed housing and people going into bankruptcy because of runaway medical costs. People that sing the praises of a capitalistic system are still living in the U.S like it's the 1950's in a time when there wasn't extremes in inequality. There's actually counties now in the U.S approaching a third world status. That's the reality of 21st century America. Capitalism works fine for those in the upper hierarchy of the pyramid, but it's currently failing the majority of those living in the middle class along with anyone else below that and anyone that says anything different has nationalistic blinders permanently stuck over their eyes. Either that or they can only see things from their own protected bubble. Plenty of those out there that have a 'can't see the reality of what's going on out there because they're personally doing okay' mentality. I don't believe in communism, but Covid has really shown how much capitalism has utterly failed the American people as well.
