Girl this is just in time. I just transferred schools and I’m having second thoughts on my major. It’s Mass Comm. But I’m really passionate about writing for film and television but I’m worried my passion my not be the right career for me. It feels like everyone is moving in the fast lane and knows there destination. Im severely confused on where to go. I need guidance on where my path is.
Omg i can relate to this! I’m making a big move from FL to MA for college and although I’ve told everyone that I’m studying medicine, i have such a PASSION for creating art. However, i have such a fear of failing or not choosing something “stable” enough. I genuinely wish you the best Liyah and honestly peace of mind for the both of us. We have time to figure it out even if there’s pressure from others to move quicker than the pace that’s meant for us.

You're so wise ... your life is gonna be better than your peers and I'm not talking about material possessions and how much money you got which is how ignorant people gauge a "good life". There are a lot of well traveled rich "successful" people miserable with shitty dead lives (some have committed suicide they felt so dead on the inside) ... don't see that for you.
I'm the same way with weight loss or fitness!! I can't track my progress on a daily basis cause it seems to stir up a competitive and perfectionistic mindset in me that leads to burn out. So I do what you do, and just show up in the mirror a few weeks later to see the changes but overall its more about how I feel about my body rather than how much weight I loss.
I know this video is old but I really needed to watch this video. Lately I’ve been feeling trapped and like I’m not making progress in my life .I’ve been working a retail job for a year trying my best to save up to go to Bowie state for my bachelor’s and learn how to drive and in Turn getting a car. My mother doesn’t make it any better by saying “ I thought you was going to get a government job You wasted all that money, got your associates and your not doing anything with it”. This truly hurt me and kinda put my negative thoughts into overdrive I responded with “I know things are moving a bit slow now but trust the process and I’ll do what I need to do”.
This was a great discussion. Giving me guidance that I was looking for. Thank you for being open and allowing us to grow with you. Years down the road and you will help so many others with this same podcast who can identify with you like I can.

Most of the adults are in my ear telling me. Well what about money? Nobody ever says what about happiness. I know money is a concern I’m not naïve. But I want to live for something other then money. I want to be happy and not live for money and materialism.
The topic of making friends as an adult hit so close to home. Validation plays a huge part of it and now I can see God has removed so many people from my life because I need a lot of time to focus on my self to grow. I never saw it that way till now. Great advice, it really is helping people.
Thinking about my inner child as a separate entity is a great concept. I consider the varying extremes of my personality as separate entities of which I can call forth and speak on an astral/spiritual level. And, I treat other children that come under my wing as living embodiments of my inner child at that age and protect them as such.
" Thinking about what you really want, not what makes sense" When i tell you that quote just woke me up lol clearly that makes sense to me.
