A while back I commented on Instagram that you should mix in a few more informational videos in. This is exactly what I was looking for. I still believe you should continue with your more showmanship based videos but having something like this every now and then would be great.
Mike is great! His series where he makes the pallet wood cabin with his dad is great. Its great seeing a father and son get along so well and his father has quite a sense of humor and has his own fishing channel.
Welll if you would’ve watched the videos properly there comes out ”totally awesome fishing” and ”totally awesome outdoors facebook group” and other things where you could’ve catched that;)
Nobody thought about T&A... Or probably 'tremendous arse' since he lacks the tits of the original phrase (either way, its all about objectifying people equally )
One of your best videos in quite some time. Good mix of instruction, entertainment and energy. Kind of reminds me of some of your older videos. Looking forward to the bushcraft knife build.
Glad you two have found each other! Been watching TA Outdoors for the Pallet Cabin build. Alec, I've been watching you for a few years. Awesome to see your colabs.
I'm so impressed with your resolve and work ethic. Something my grandfather impressed upon me when I was young. But you are such a natural teacher, I hope I am as patient when I start mentoring my kids. You are an inspiration, and you give me hope that not all of today's youth are lost. Well done sir!
You r one of the nicest guys I ever saw. You don’t keep your talent to your self, but teach and help people. You put so much effort into making things for people and teachem how to mostly do it themselv. Keep the good work on, just please be careful that you don’t burn out from trying to bring out a video everyday and don’t wanting to do do it anymore... Much love from Germany :)
Great collab! It's so cool when you subscribe to two seemingly unrelated channels, and you see one guest starring on the other's. Time for you to learn some bushcraft, Alec!
OMG!! Two of my favorite channels doing a collaboration!! Totally Awesome!! XD (Also, just wanna say: you've started fire with a hammer and copper rod!)
Ah, the sound of a hammer and anvil is very therapeutic. This is what I come here for. Grinding, milling, and turning don't provide the same satisfaction. Keep up the great work!
I swear, Alec is the best and hardest working youtuber ever. The amount of colabs he does is insane. His work ethic is absolutely insane and admirable.
Nice to see 2 of my favourite youtubers together just a shame Graeme isn't there as well. Mike will certainly put the striker and knife to the test Alec. Mike you should have brought your dad and done some drop shorting and piking in Norfolk fella. We have some amazing rivers here.
Yes! Alec is throwing sparks again! LOVE that you’re learning machining and expanding your skills as a maker, but there’s just something about that power hammer making sparks that you just can’t say no to.
Everytime i see you collaborate with someone i check them out because i know that its gonna be worth it. I've been binge watching Real Engineering because of you
I was actually going to post this week asking you to make one of these.... I am starting to learn blacksmithing and wanted to make a couple of these for friends that do a lot of hiking/camping and always want an extra way to create a spark.
I will obviously research from multiple sources, prior to trying it. Alex did a great job at answering a question, rather an problem I thought I would face; which was the back side, and it gave me an idea to make multiple at one time rather than doing them one at a time like my original thought was. So for instance make 3 at a time rather than one at a time, assembly line style so that the tapers met, then cut afterwards.
Alec this is the type of video that got me started watching you. I miss the instructional videos that you used to make. The new stuff is interesting but would enjoy more basic blacksmiths info.
Alec, I absolutely love the energy that you portray in all of your videos. I love your projects and your collaborative videos! Keep up the good work man! Always welcome if you find yourself in Colorado!
That seems like an ideal product for those of us who want something hand-crafted by Alec at a price that won't require a 2nd mortgage. It also seems like a product that Alec could knock off while the "real" project is heating or cooling or normalizing or whatever. Give it a thought, Alec!
As soon as I heard that ta outdoors was going to be on the channel my jaw dropped I absolutely love ta outdoors he makes quality productions just like Alec and I really enjoy his vids
Love the way you ask where you are going to find a bit of flint. Lol For those who don't know, you can't take a step in Norfolk without tripping over flint. The typical houses of the region are faced with flint and so are many garden and roadside walls. Not the sort of thing you want to scrape with your car and some of the roads are pretty narrow!
I myself am interested to learn more about you Alec like what u like to do when ou aren't forging metal and when you have some free time (which looks nonexistent)
Alec, I came across your channel by accident. Wow, you are an enthusiastic person! I love it! I immediately liked you as a charming person and entertaining RUclips host. As I watched your video, I also came to admire your obvious skill in forging the striker. You took pride in your work and made it much better than it really needed to be to do the job. It escapes me at the moment, but I think there is an European word, possibly German; that describes something that is very functional in design, skillfully made and yet is also a pleasure to look at. I think you achieved that with your striker. In addition to your skill at forging, I really liked how you took time to praise your guest's skills when you are obviously a highly skilled individual as well.
Another thing I have seen, talking about getting the ring out of an anvil, is wrapping chain around the bottom of the anvil. A bit more old fashioned but hey it works.
This was a blast!! Thanks Alec! I'm looking forward to the next project big time! - Mike
Nice to see you over here Mike. I could see you were a bit nervous :) Anyway I'm waiting for your upload of this mate. Take care.
Awesome colab of RUclipsrs
Nice Monster Hunter shirt 👍👍
is there gonna be some bushcraft forging soon?
I see the MH shirt. You played Monster Hunter World?
I didn't expect to see a blacksmith this excited about seeing sparks haha. Great video as always Alec!
A while back I commented on Instagram that you should mix in a few more informational videos in. This is exactly what I was looking for. I still believe you should continue with your more showmanship based videos but having something like this every now and then would be great.
When two of your favorite YT'rs do a collaboration, the day is just that much better.
Mike is great! His series where he makes the pallet wood cabin with his dad is great. Its great seeing a father and son get along so well and his father has quite a sense of humor and has his own fishing channel.
A survival tool special would be sweet Alec.
Been watching TA for a couple of years and never knew (until now) what the TA stood for.
I wasn't sure myself
If you watched him for that long you would have known that the "TA Outdoors" old logo actually had "Totally Awesome" spelled on it.
Welll if you would’ve watched the videos properly there comes out ”totally awesome fishing” and ”totally awesome outdoors facebook group” and other things where you could’ve catched that;)
Niila Kurkela *caught (I know I'm terrible for pointing it out...)
Nobody thought about T&A... Or probably 'tremendous arse' since he lacks the tits of the original phrase (either way, its all about objectifying people equally )
Fantastic to see Totally Awesome in the shop... collaboration for the win!!
Great seeing two of my favorite channels working together.
This guy's enthusiasm is contagious ! -A new subscriber
One of your best videos in quite some time. Good mix of instruction, entertainment and energy. Kind of reminds me of some of your older videos. Looking forward to the bushcraft knife build.
Crazy! I had already subscribed to TA for ages. Great to see the collaboration!
Can't wait for the next episode Alec. I'm subscribed to both of you, and seeing you two in a cross-episode made my day... Love it!
Still got those Christmas lights because Christmas never ends ;-)
Just read that its tradition to take them down on Groundhog day. Thats Feb 2nd from those outside North America.
nah man, 12 days of Christmas, down either 5 or 6 jan .
Something called Candlemas ?????????
This was like a dream come true watching two of my favorite RUclipsrs together!
Well that was a surprise; I've been watching TA and his building for a little while now. Great to see him on.
Glad you two have found each other! Been watching TA Outdoors for the Pallet Cabin build. Alec, I've been watching you for a few years. Awesome to see your colabs.
Two of my favorite RUclips channels together?!? FANTASTIC!
Two of my most favorite youtubers
I'm so impressed with your resolve and work ethic. Something my grandfather impressed upon me when I was young. But you are such a natural teacher, I hope I am as patient when I start mentoring my kids. You are an inspiration, and you give me hope that not all of today's youth are lost. Well done sir!
Been watching ta fishing for years now, didn't think they'd ever come here to Norfolk again
10.50 You have to love Alec. You can see his passion for learning things doesn't stop at blacksmithing and machining..
I enjoy the folders and watching you learn machining, but I really smile when you get the hand hammer out.
A collaboration I never knew I wanted... But definitely was more awesome than i would have thought! Love both channels.
Alec, This was a fantastic video, the instructional ones are the best.
Great surprise! My 2 favourite channels together. Thanks Guys.
A forged project, yes! That was a cool project. Can't wait for the bushcraft knife!
Great collab! It's so cool when you subscribe to two seemingly unrelated channels, and you see one guest starring on the other's.
Time for you to learn some bushcraft, Alec!
Alec's enthusiasm is fun to watch
Holy molly! two of my favorite British youtubers at once! Stunning!
This is the show we all love, thanks for another great one, can’t wait for the bushcraft knife
I was surprised to see my favorite RUclips blacksmith & outdoorsman doing a collaboration. Can't wait for the next project.
You have such a fun personality to present a youtube show like this. I have no interest in doing any of this myself but I enjoy your enthusiasm
Two of my favorite you tubers doing a colab, best vid of of the day!
Swords and blades are cool, but I love watching you make tools to fix things and perform actual work. That is REAL talent.
OMG!! Two of my favorite channels doing a collaboration!! Totally Awesome!! XD
(Also, just wanna say: you've started fire with a hammer and copper rod!)
Survival Kid haha I was gonna say that ^^
Ah, the sound of a hammer and anvil is very therapeutic. This is what I come here for. Grinding, milling, and turning don't provide the same satisfaction. Keep up the great work!
So happy with this collaboration, TA actually got me into cooking ironically enough
sweet two of the best RUclips's in one place
Although the music is awesome, the commentary adds so much to the process!
Your on fire Alec !! A fun collaboration video thanks !!
ah yes my two fave English based youtubers coming together. tis a good day
I swear, Alec is the best and hardest working youtuber ever. The amount of colabs he does is insane. His work ethic is absolutely insane and admirable.
Great collaboration two of my favourite bright sparks brilliant as always Alec
Wow. Alec actually picked up a hammer! Lol Been a while
*generic angery comment from someone not understanding that its a joke*
maxdestroyer123 Unecessarily angry response inexplicably referencing your lineage/your mother/Sam Fowler.
@@maxdestroyer1237 necro comment about wooosh
Awesome you two hooked up. Been watching both your channels for awhile now.
Dude that's so cool I watch you both and now your doing one together!
Fantastic! I'm very on board with these survival/prepper projects. Keep them coming! much love from Cali
Nice to see 2 of my favourite youtubers together just a shame Graeme isn't there as well. Mike will certainly put the striker and knife to the test Alec. Mike you should have brought your dad and done some drop shorting and piking in Norfolk fella. We have some amazing rivers here.
Took a few minutes and checked out TA Outdoors, and found a great new site i am now following. I love the stuff he's doing. Thank you for the advice.
I really like it when you mix in some crafty things like this...thx !
Great video. I love the collaborations that you do. Have found lots of great channels to follow because of this.
awesome! Alec you have to go out in the bush with TA!
His channel is fantastic, especially when he does videos with his dad.
Glad to see the colab...keep up the great work!
A man of many talents, fun, fun , fun!
Thats so cool, would love an Alec Steele flint striker. Top class
Mikes a great guy , his dad to . I enjoyed that vid guys !
I love your energy Alec, great video and 2 of my favorite channels collaborating :)
Yes! Alec is throwing sparks again!

Alec I don't know why you don't have over 1 million subscribed yet!? Keep it up you'll hit 2 millions in no time!
Great video and great to see your collaboration with Mike

mbrown121500 don't temper it down. it needs to be hard to spark well.
Figured it had to be hard, the softer will cause less spark would it not?
mbrown121500 yes that's why it's hard to see the sparks in this video. look at some other videos on this subject before you begin.
I will obviously research from multiple sources, prior to trying it.

Never ceases to amaze me how you shape metal the way you do. :-)
This is so cool, way to go. Can't believe you got it on the first try.
Always welcome if you find yourself in Colorado!
two fav channels in one awesome!!
TA OUTDOORS is an awesome channel. Was pleasantly surprised to see a colab.
OMG, I would buy a flint striker from you in a heartbeat.
I watch you both and you collabed, I really wasn’t expecting it
That seems like an ideal product for those of us who want something hand-crafted by Alec at a price that won't require a 2nd mortgage. It also seems like a product that Alec could knock off while the "real" project is heating or cooling or normalizing or whatever.

Dude, the laught at the end (when alec strikes the flint) should turn into a meme! Awesome videos!
Alec & Mike spend several episodes forging steel tools.
Alec & Mike enter the bush for a weekend survival trip using those tools.
I'd watch that.
That is one of the best striking steels I’ve seen! Awesome 👏
Would love if you sold them!! Well done guys 👍

Fantastic quick little project! Definitely subscribing to TA Outdoors
I wish I had half of this dude´s energy.
two of my favorite channels,
I didn’t expect you to be doing a collaboration with TA outdoors
A blacksmith using a caliper... ROFL gave me a good giggle. Your awesome dude keep making amazing videos.
Wha wha wha, TA OUTDOORS! Holy crap this is the BEST! Collaboration!
I myself am interested to learn more about you Alec like what u like to do when ou aren't forging metal and when you have some free time (which looks nonexistent)
good place to go alec steele making outdoor tools
No waaaay o.O Two of my favorite youtubers making a colab. Super thumbs up!!!!
Awesome to see TA here
I made one with an old wrench, works really good. I didn't get a good heat treat though, might have to redo that!!
Alec, I came across your channel by accident. Wow, you are an enthusiastic person! I love it!

What an awesome small project.
Nice simple and clean, I like!
And as usual, your own amazement amaze me!
I put a thick metal chain around the base of the anvil. works amazing for removing sound
T.A. Outdoors with Alec Steele = T.A. Colab. Too bad your dad couldn't be there. He would of had a blast.
Another thing I have seen, talking about getting the ring out of an anvil, is wrapping chain around the bottom of the anvil. A bit more old fashioned but hey it works.
Brilliant blacksmithing. Nice to see a Tennessee flag on the wall. From Knoxville, God bless
I'm a subscriber of both of you. Love collabs!
The ring never stopped
Always love making my own strikers!
