Good timing! I guess I'm a glutton for punishment as I just bought my 4th BMW which is a off lease BMW CPO '21 X3 M40i . Using your instructions, I just installed a new valve cover and gasket on my 2011 E90 N52 this past weekend. The only thing that broke was the plastic coolant recovery line. I repaired it with a piece of 5/16 fuel injector line. So far no leaks. . . . I also went ahead and installed coils as I still had my originals in it. Thanks so much for your extremely easy to follow instructions.
This was very helpful and I was able to replace my rear brake pads successfully. Thank you for posting this! Note: The one that I used is Brembo brakes and they are so far so good ...
Thanks for sharing. I don’t see that it is necessary to replace the sensor unless it was activated. I agree it’s easier to install it in the pad first, rather than once the pad is installed. It’s good to note the differences between the inner and outer pads if you can, so viewers can see.
After pads replacement I can feel small vibration once pressing breaks at high speed. Does it mean rotors needs replacement as well? I left old shins so maybe that's the issue?
Yooo Zeiten, where do we find caliper guide pins? In case if we happen to overtorque the bolts because the torque wrench doesn’t click anymore and it happens to snap and can’t get it out..asking for a friend lol 😂
Hey, i just saw your Video of the oil gasket replacement for ne e92 335i n54 Great Video man! I have one question because is have the n55 Engine. Do I have to vent something here too? The oil cycle or water cycle?
I've watched many videos on the brake pad change and they always used an app to place the caliper piston into the service mode. Your way with removing the parking brake motor sure looks like more work.
Sooooo what if people don’t have the app or the scanner etc? Is common sense becoming a thing of the past? Comments such as this are making me think so….
I will be making a review soon on launch creader elite 2.0, has it’s flaws but for the price very impressive and capable tool. Other option i’ve been using icarsoft for very long time so bmm 3.0 would be a good option but it’s way less capable compared to launch
@@Zeiten do you go into service mode/remove the break before jacking the car up? Also on the scanner you used once you go into the service mode that goes for all 4 tires or are they divided into front/back?
@ShinyOwl release parking parking brake, using scanner disengage electronic parking brake, loosen rear wheels, jack up the car, replace rear pads. I show in the video how to do this job without any scan tools btw. Front calipers are completely different from rear and there is no service mode for front pads replacement

Happy to help👍
Very helpful and very well explained with all the necessary details that most others leave out.
Thank you👍

I did the same thing on my g12, it made it easier to get the caliper out before removing the electric motor. More room to work around.
I love this BMW channel

What is minimum thickness of the rotors before replacement is necessary ?
What is the torque spec for the parking brake unit please. Thanks for making this useful video

Thanks for sharing Maestro Zeiten
🙌
Where did you get the ATE pads?
Can I use Brembo brakes and rotors at the back? Kinda expensive though.

The oil cycle or water cycle?
All the same as n54
Okey, so there is nothing to vent ?
Not the oil cycle and Not the water ?
Did you have to screw the emergency screw out when putting back the emergency brake motor?
No, watch until the end

Sure i have scanners to retract the parking brake but i made it this way so people without any scanners can do the job on their own

What are the torque on that parking actuator ?
I didn’t see any grease, is it not required or a good thing to have?
No grease for bmw brakes
Do you have to replace the caliper bolts everytime also ?
Not really but if they come with the kit why not. There is locktite in there so you can use old bolts with new locktite
What scanner would you recommend to use on this process? I was looking at the INNIVA 5610 but still looking around for more options. Thank you

Bimmerlink works on any smart phone or tablet, you need an OBDII adapter for it.
Dude.... Them beautiful blue calipers and you never wiped them clean.... 😭👌
Excellent, subscribed, thanks
Do the rotors not need to be replaced?
Not necessarily
😊
My caliper will not compress
Provide more info. Have you unwind the e-brake motor?
Switched to my passenger side and my T45 bolt wont even turn to take the caliper off i dont want to force it
@khentai9015 put everything back together engage-disengage parking brake and try again
