MAN!!! At 60 years old, I still break down and cry when I hear this song. Because the longing for better STILL exists!!! Too much hatred; too much murder; too much warring; too much deceit; too much lying; too much stealing; too much abuse, and too many abuses. And way too many shameless EXCUSES!!! Somehow I still believe that Stevie Wonders SEES MORE... perceives MORE than most sighted people.
Were you in the military? This song at that time was a troubled time Vietnam and racism etc. I am young but my father was in the Army and this song reminds me of him. He passed away in 2014
Same! Or when it comes on the radio in the car right before I get to work. I’m walking in the office like, ugh…. allergies 🤧. It’s just such a beautiful, powerful song. My favorite song. I listen to it all year round, just not before work lol.
As a child this song stirred my emotions especially the "maybe not in time for you and me" and now as a parent this song just rips me to shreds. I pray for a better world for my son.
Always get a little choked up when this comes on while the family is opening gifts... When you think about how fkd up the world is and you can still have Christmas presents and dinner with your loved ones... Something you can't regret
I absolutely love this song because it’s prophetic. At the birth of Jesus the heavenly host praising God said, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. These things WILL all come to pass and be seen at the second coming of Jesus Christ by those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Even the lion will lay down with the lamb. Maranatha, Jesus is coming!
Hopefully in OUR Time! I'm soul-weary at witnessing the human race beating his head against the same wall -- over and over again -- throughout the past six thousand or so years. Human beings cannot even begin to run things well on this planet. Socialism, communism, and capitalism fall under the heading of humanism. All of the aforementioned systems have failed and will continue to fail until The Christ returns. Humanity is just too materialistic and insolent to face up to that. On this 8th day of December 2020, I say a prayer for Christ to return -- the sooner the better. A hopeful and joyful Christmas 2020 to everyone -- everywhere!
I always liked Stevie Wonder. His song is inspirational "Someday at Christmas" is future tense. I hope people start coming together and not making a big deal about difference. We are all children of the same God.
This song speaks Love, Beauty, and Hope, Hope, Hope, Hope to my heart and soul. I pray that My Barbra Rose can hear this sublime tune from her mansion and rose garden in Heaven (her home since Nov. 22, 2012). My Barbra gave so much to this world (even when she was terminally-ill with cancer). Barb - I miss you beyond words! Barb - I love you beyond Time! I pray that Jesus will allow you to come back for me very very soon. I'll be waiting for you!
I saw a TV commercial on Thanksgiving morning featuring Stevie and a young lady by the name of Andra Day......performing a brief remake of this song, along with several young children. That performance.......which was beautifully breathtaking.....brought me here......the ORIGINAL MASTERPIECE.
It is a shame that the lyrics of a song released on November 27, 1967 have applied every Christmas since. “Maybe not in time for you and me”. Stevie wrote this as a teenager. He is now 71 and still waiting. The first few: "Someday at Christmas men won't be boys Playing with bombs like kids play with toys One warm December our hearts will see A world where men are free".
You hit it right on the head. Stevie was a young man of 17 when it was released. He is now 65, and sadly, the meaning of it is still as important as it was almost 50 years ago. A beautiful job by the Apple people with their holiday commercial, bringing the song back for today's generation to hear, and hopefully appreciate.
+Bentom86 Good point about his age. He was a 17 year old boy/young man and said "maybe not in time for you and me"; doubting things would change in his lifetime. Now he his an older man and they haven't. Prophetic and tragic.
In the name of the Mighty Creator of the Universe can we all just stop all the division ,all of the lies and all of the hate and just love each other. That will always be my CHRISTMAS 🎄 wish. "Some day at CHRISTMAS 🎄 man will not fail, hate will be gone and love will Prevail " "One shining moment my heart ran away ,from our world today " Thank you Stevie for this masterpiece, not just to be heard for one day out of the year . Peace and love y'all
+ziweiyuan I did a cover of this, its on my channel. I am no Stevie Wonder, however I think that I did a pretty good job to say that I am not singing to any music.
SANG STEVIE MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG. I PLAYED THIS AT WORK BEFORE I CLOCKED IN A THIS ELDERLY COUPLE WERE TABLE DANCING & I JUST BURST INTO TEARS. THEY SAID "WHAT KNOW ABOUT THAT, YOU TOO YOUNG TO KNOW ABOUT THAT SONG?" I REPLIED, "I LISTEN TO THIS SONG ALL YEAR." I TOLD THEM COME TO RUclips THEY CAN FIND ALL THE OLD CLASSIC CHRISTMAS MUSIC AND SHOWED THEM HOW TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST. TELL ME GOD AIN'T GOOD AND STEVIE CANT CONNECT GENERATIONAL GAPS PRAISE GOD. SHE STARTED CRYING AND SAID, " THIS REMINDED ME OF SO MANY MEMORIES OF MY FAMILY AND HER HUSBAND AROUND THE HOLIDAYS. YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT DID FOR ME. I WILL NEVER FEEL THE SAME. IT BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES FOR ME TOO OF MY FAMILY.♥️♥️♥️🙌🏿🙌🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🎄🎄🎀🎀🖤🖤🖤✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿💪🏿💪🏿✌🏿✌🏿😘😘😘💯💯💯
One last time, when The Christ opens Heaven and pours our His Love and Peace upon all the earth -- when it will be Christmas -- Forever! Please, pray for that glorious day at Christmas 2012 (and beyond).
This tune is in remembrance of those who left this world due to the horrific tornadic storms on 12/10/21. May The Eternal Christ and the rest of the Heavenly Host bring them comfort and healing for their souls. May Christ grant all of those who suffered from those storms the material things they need - - food and shelter.
The peace that Stevie Wonder sings about in this song will come to everyone who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, a relationship with Him is the answer to all of our problems.
Seems people who 'accept Jesus' elected the most unholy of all men to be president of the USA. One young female had his name and Jesus tattooed on her shoulder.
Someday at Christmas...... when all are equal, when all are free, when we have peace on earth... No hungry children. No empty hands.. Some day at Christmas...
Stabs You know, it’s understandable if you don’t believe in God, but you don’t need to criticize or bring down the beliefs of others. If Miriam wishes to believe in God, let them.
One of the most hopeful Christmas songs. Unfortunately it can probably only happen when Jesus Christ returns. Right now we're pretty divided, but thank goodness for Christmas, really is the best time of year
Wow!!! Yes, someday at Christmas time, this is a beautiful song and it is performed great by Stevie! This song makes you want to cry! Yes, it will really be Christmas time when Jesus comes back!!! Have a Blessed Day!!!!
you white conservative christians are missing the whole point of this fucking song. Do you know nothing about the 60s? Living through them doesn't count by the way.
Bravo Bruckner It's like they chose to forget that Christmas is originally a Pagan holiday! Christmas is suppose to be where we see each other as equals. At least for one day and you sure as hell don't need a Jewish man for that.
Vahn Caradine Christmas was not originally a Pagan holiday... it _replaced_ a Pagan holiday. (Saturnalia) Read this link for more info: www.gotquestions.org/Christmas-origin.html
Bravo Bruckner What's your point? I'm simply stating that Christmas was not originally a pagan holiday, as Vahn claimed. Christmas is a completely different concept than Saturnalia. That's all I wanted to point out. Did you read my link?
Someday all our dreams will come to be....never give up, no fears, fight through the tears. Live with appreciation, theres only one guarantee in life, which is death. We all go through struggles, but remember to rise you must fall
This song is so heart felt and emotional, so beautiful and most joyful to listen to. I can listen to this song all night long, not matter what the season is. It represent all the pain and hurt in the world. It represent the love and joy in the world. No matter what problems you are going through there is always light on the other side of the tunnel. Peace and joy.
I’ve heard this song every year and only now I listened to the lyrics wow I gotta say this is one of the most powerful set of Christmas lyrics I’ve heard
WHO SAYS it's a "seasonal" song, Pat Tee? I listen to the songs that touch me ANY TIME I FEEL LIKE HEARING THEM, you understand? The "season" for songs is more within the person listening than it is in the weather patterns.
Another hidden gem by Stevie. One of Americas greatest songwriters. Love the new version in the Apple Commercial. Got me out of my chair to see who was singing it.
Stevie is really a modern musical prophet .Sort of like King David a master poet and musician, and King David like God. God I know created the world Jamming to music you can't tell me otherwise. Shalom everyone this Christmas
The most beautiful Christmas song ever! I pray that this heavenly vision of what Life on Earth could be become soon a reality... Thank you Stevie for being such a wonderful, soulful Source of Inspiration and Joy in our lives! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Play this song for your kids before Christmas and then tell them that you truly love them and hug them like you'll never let go of them. I send this song out to those who lost loved ones in the horrific and tragic events in New Town, Connecticut last Friday. May The Christ of Christmas (and Eternity) bring love, comfort and healing to each heart and mind. Love, Hope and Peace to all at Christmas 2012 -- everywhere!
+kingngueen2 It is a great piece and I could not stop listening to it either. The lyrics got to me so much that I had to sing it and put it on my RUclips channel.
Someday at Christmas has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs, such a beautiful meaning! This song should make all of us just stop & think & realize the real meaning of life & just love on each other
Makes me cry every time. I hate the thought of holidays without my granny and this song reminds me of her. As the holidays near, I'd love to wish you all a happy holiday! ❤
A song that still makes me burst into tears. It's interesting that Jeremy Turner made the comment below, as this was actually a protest against war. Whatever the driving force, I hope that all have a happy holiday and good memories when they hear this.
This truly beautiful & meaningful song shows the genius and perception of a man who never the chance to see the 'wonder' of a holiday that means so much to not only children but also people who have the spirit of renewal and hope within themselves. For his ability to give us this melodic prose which is very soothing to the sense of hearing, I only wish I could share my gift of sight with one who has done so much without what many take for granted!
true Favorite Christmas Song. Thank you Stevie !! Someday yes we will see all of this! Love will always Survive as long as music does! May music be in all of Our hearts not too mention the peace in which joy and happiness it brings🎶🕊️🎼❤️
Someday at Christmas men won't be boys Playing with bombs like kids play with toys One warm December our hearts will see A world where men are free Someday at Christmas there'll be no wars When we have learned what Christmas is for When we have found what life's really worth There'll be peace on earth Someday all our dreams will come to be Someday in a world where men are free Maybe not in time for you and me But someday at Christmastime Someday at Christmas we'll see a Man No hungry children, no empty hand One happy morning people will share Our world where people care Someday at Christmas there'll be no tears All men are equal and no men have fears One shinning moment my heart ran away From our world today Someday all our dreams will come to be Someday in a world where men are free Maybe not in time for you and me But someday at Christmastime Someday at Christmas man will not fail Take hope because your love will prevail Someday a new world that we can start With hope in every heart Someday all our dreams will come to be Someday in a world where men are free Maybe not in time for you and me But someday at Christmas time Someday at Christmas time
This song brings me back to my childhood- gleeful at Christmas hanging all the beautiful cards from pen pals, friends and family all over the world. That was during a time when great pride was taken in carefully picking out greeting cards. I try to remain to that tradition today with the nice cards from Costco and Sams.
I heard this song tod inside the supermarket while doing some much needed grocery shopping. However, it was Mary. J. Blige's rendition of it. Long story short, I go to type in Mary and Stevie pops up first. Needless to say Mary was a rap as Stevie will ALWAYS PREVAIL.
Every time I hear this great song it makes me cry I think of the past and what I have lose in my life and to all of my family that had passed but thank God for memories because that's all I have left
My all time favorite Christmas song. Still feel the same way I felt when I first listened to this song. This is over thirty odd years ago. For me Christmas is all about listening to the songs
Yes. Woderfull deep song.
Were you in the military? This song at that time was a troubled time Vietnam and racism etc. I am young but my father was in the Army and this song reminds me of him. He passed away in 2014
Thank you beautifully said ❤
Right on, human being are so mean and just plain stupid but we have to keep fate that is why we are all here
Maybe the best Christmas song ever. Stevie got it right.
Yet somehow in 2020, we still haven't gotten it right.
Amen
Amen brother
This song always makes me cry so when I hear it in a store I have to hide somewhere that lump in your throat cry
Me too!

Always reminds me of Christmas with my parents when i was a child. Our family from England came over to spend it with us. We love in Rotterdam.

Such profound song. Only when we see jesus will this song come to pass.
Beautiful song and Stevie Wonder is the only one who brings it home.❤❤❤

I agree it is the "best" song ever. I cried this morning.

Someday at Christmas has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs, such a beautiful meaning! This song should make all of us just stop & think & realize the real meaning of life & just love on each other
(1966) Still listening on Dec 25, 2019. My favorite Christmas song: Merry Christmas!!! 🌲⛄🌈💝🎁💯⭐
Makes me cry every time. I hate the thought of holidays without my granny and this song reminds me of her. As the holidays near, I'd love to wish you all a happy holiday! ❤

this gives a important message
My favorite song to hear each year - it brings tears everytime I hear it.
Someday at Christmas men won't be boys
Playing with bombs like kids play with toys
One warm December our hearts will see
A world where men are free
Someday at Christmas there'll be no wars
When we have learned what Christmas is for
When we have found what life's really worth
There'll be peace on earth
Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmas we'll see a Man
No hungry children, no empty hand
One happy morning people will share
Our world where people care
Someday at Christmas there'll be no tears
All men are equal and no men have fears
One shinning moment my heart ran away
From our world today
Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmas man will not fail
Take hope because your love will prevail
Someday a new world that we can start
With hope in every heart
Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmas time
Someday at Christmas time
Great song
That first line of this song got me the most.
In today's world, maybe bombs should be replaced with guns.
This song brings me back to my childhood- gleeful at Christmas hanging all the beautiful cards from pen pals, friends and family all over the world. That was during a time when great pride was taken in carefully picking out greeting cards. I try to remain to that tradition today with the nice cards from Costco and Sams.

Always love hearing this song. Hardly ever hear it on the radio anymore.
Song is almost too emotional to enjoy in a Christmas playlist…
Absolutely one of the best Christmas songs. Merry Christmas All!
Every time I hear this great song it makes me cry I think of the past and what I have lose in my life and to all of my family that had passed but thank God for memories because that's all I have left

Stevie Wonder you have a beautiful voice. Thank you 💙
Do people still like this song besides me in 2020?
Coco Beck It’s still 2019.
@@Itsnoahscott I know but people say the next year during christmas time because it is basically the next year
Coco Beck It’s really not
@@Itsnoahscott whatever
With Coco's reasoning, someone who turns 21 in 2020 and can legally drink gets to start now. lol
