I'm about to take my national certification on tower crane operation and by watching this video helps me well understand the crane's concepts. Thanks a lot.
Fun Fact for the day. Note electrical enclosure key on left of console at 4:57. Look at the loop part of the key. Very functional bottle opener. German design at its finest.
They never mentioned the counter balance weight at the back of the crane. Without that the whole thing would tilt while lifting a heavy load and come crashing to the ground.
Different kind of crane. These ones are weighted at the bottom, weights on top would overload the structure and snap all the supports sending it tumbling down. Its those huge super cranes that move on gigantic treads that have those pivoting back weights
A 6 foot tall man manually built a 8' crane, that 16' crane built a 32' crane which built a 64' crane which built a 128' crane which built a 256' crane which built a 512' crane which built a 1,024' crane which built a 2,048' crane which built a 4,096' crane which built a 8,192' crane which built a 16,384' crane which built a 32,768' crane which built a 65,536' crane which built a 131,072'crane which built a 262,144' crane which built a 524,288' crane which built a 1,048,576'(198.6 mile) crane.
Omg so much information neglected in the building of these... I understand there's a certain amount of time for each segment but geeze. How about the counterweights? How about the boom, the cabling and spindles?
for as much information that is true here, they forgot that most of these cranes are radio controlled. They can send someone up high to do the work, but most companies will radio control it out of ease.
Mascha Gerber maybe. the power plant where mad dad works had like 4 on site and they radiod each one. i dont know if they only operated 1 to 2 or all of them at a time. I go with the prior of 1 to 2 cranes at a time. it makes sense.

I keep coming back to this for the music.
This is the best music ❤ of any of these episodes.

It's funny when they fall over. I bet it's a really fun job to clean the operator off the inside

And that's not just any old tower crane. It's a Liebherr tower crane!
*Respect.*
*Hello from Russia!*
Why is this video playing backwards?

Very nice
Great video... 👍
Is that at the Liebherr plant in Bieberach Germany?
Awesome

Sedated By life right! I was trying to find out if any kind of cables were used and how?!?!
I was a tower crane operator. But two years ago I was almost killed in a fatal accident. So I had to retire on 25 years of age
Check out the HYTORC XLCT tool at 4:23!
Hell yea
that is Liebherr :) i operated this cranes by Liebherr :)
nice
there is also a toilet provided behind the cabin for the driver?
good
and how does the counter weights come into play?
When weight is on one side, the counter weights prevent the crane from falling over.
Anybody here because they wanted to make sure it wasn't actually backwards?
It's Leibherr 140 EC-H tower crane made by German engineers
How do they keep dirt and debrie out of there if they don't grease them constantly
wish i was still driving them
"wait, thats not rain!!"
They could have big conker fights.
Did that get you all excited skippy??
Liebherr the best crane company ever!
Not in a millions years would you get me up in one of those things.
It's fun, you can shit on people from up there
believe me or not i have seen one of those cranes with a porta potty on the beck with the counter weight, no kidding!!!!!!!!! XD
How much money do I get to operate this crane
What if you get diarrhoea when at the top?
A five gallon bucket is a handy item
life's biggest mystery solved
"So things are never leftup in the air"
Bhahaha...ha.ha..haaaa -_-
what about the counter wights when its not lifting a heavy load)) surley it must be heavya on one side while upright
The counter weights move forward or backwards too balance the crane either with a load or without.
I actually question myself "How the fuck do they get those things in and out of the construction area when they're done..."
With a mobile crane and a bunch of flatbed trucks.
Wow
4:58
а я то думаю как они это кресло в кабину затащили ! а они его через лобаш затараканили а потом стекло вставили !
Then he doesn't go to work, that day.
