I have driven in Paphos, Cyprus. I do like how Cyprus drives on the left. I have read somewhere that the reason Cyprus drives on the left is because the Cypriot government was impressed by how the UK system works (as the traffic lights and road signs are identical to the UK) so they decided to adopt it for their country. This comment is purely subjective. I have also driven in Crete where they drive on the right hand side of the road using left-hand drive cars. For some reason (like I said this is purely subjective -- feel free to disagree if you wish) I have found the left-hand drive system more 'correct' because it just felt more natural changing gears, operating the heater and radio controls with my right hand as I am right handed. Like a pilot who sits on the left hand side of the cockpit operating the controls with his right hand. Its any wonder most of the world drives on the right. Even my father who drove us about in Spain many years ago commented that 'it feels more correct driving on the right'. Having said that; I am equally comfortable driving on both the left and right hand sides of the road. It doesn't take that long to 'adjust' if you are travelling abroad.
