What do you recommend for someone who is barely starting to grow out thier beard ?? I have some facial hair on my face but it’s not full . Should I shave 🪒 completely to start new products?
Nope, just start right where you are! Check out our recent “grow a beard” series, that drops each Wednesday! Should be perfecting timing for you. We have two videos so far, each of the last two Wednesdays. For now, you should pick a beard oil and beard wash
Thank you for all your information on beard products.I was wondering about beard oil. I understand that beard oil is just for the skin of the beard, not the hair. Is this true? Now I know some people put it on both. Myself for a while, I have as well. But after thinking about it, I was wondering. Should I just put it on the skin, or both skin and hair? The bottles are so small. I’m thinking just for the skin only. If it was a larger bottle, then I would assume that it’s for both. What is your opinion?
Hey Ray! Any brand in this video that you are commenting on, and this video below is a must watch for new beards: ruclips.net/video/rfwx__prn4U/видео.html
No oil on earth will help you grow your beard. Start with a balanced diet, proper sleep hygiene, etc. Beard oil is a leave-in conditioner for your hair follicles and skin, with some protection from hot/cold cli.ates. Your beard only absorbs a small amount of oil. It's your genetics/B7 that determines growth rate.
Great video! I always enjoy your views on the best beard products and make most of my purchasing decisions based on your videos. Two of my favorites have been Beard Octane and Fable that I found through you.
Greetings from Gettysburg, Pa...regrowing my yeard and was fortunate to come across your channel and subbed...alot of new players in the beard game since I was last rocking the big beard....love your succinct product descriptions especially on fragrance as thats priority #1 for me....will be trying your top picks and thanks Dan for getting me up to snuff on the new products!...👍💥🇺🇲💥
@@DanCBearded have a great time! It's a sad day when you need to put the RV away for the winter. We are boondocking in the desert in Arizona for a while now.
I really appreciate the way you put this together for us. Putting the timelines and categories together flows fantastic and has allowed me to go back and forth on your opinion on the items I want the information on. Everything you put on this video is high quality and have great owners. I own something from most of the categories you have and they have been fantastic. I need to get the Whiskey & Hardtack beard bar soap as I think that is something I am missing. I think it is good to have variations of the products you have to keep your beard from getting used to one product. In butters I have Bahawat as my nighttime butter as I think the blackseed oil really nourishes my beard and the scents are awesome. I use Whiskey and Hardtack unscented butter as it gives my the hold/styling I want during the day and I alternate with Defined Beard Co butters to prevent my beard from becoming used to the other two. I do have other company butters I use based on the scents and I have Belle Isle from Detroit that I use 1-2x a month. I use Whiskey & Hardtack beard conditioner as my go to conditioner but I will be getting Live Bearded conditioner to change up. I use Beard Octane LCW and Live bearded wash. Bar soaps have had the biggest impact on my personal hygiene care this year. I made the choice to go all in on Bar Soap for my body. I have used everything you have on the video and enjoy all of them. Beard Oils are the same as I have a variety of light, medium and thicker beard oils. Can't go wrong with any of the companies you have on the list
Thank you so much Donald! It is a little longer than I wanted, but I was really hoping the timestamps for the categories would help. There just wasn't anything I could cut out. I love and appreciate all of your feedback!
Excellent video! Thanks so much for sharing your opinions and experiences with these products. It can be overwhelming if you're new to products, so many of them sound/look good based on the label but might have sketchy ingredients or just be poorly/quickly/cheaply produced.
My all time beard oil and butter is BAHAWAT Thank you Dan for turning me into this company, the black seed oil is a game changer for real My beard is softer then ever and their oil feels amazing in beard. The BAHAWAT butter is whole different story Dan, I’ve used so many different butters from most of the good companies out there but honestly after I tried BAHAWAT I replaced all of them. This is the only butter that doesn’t have grits in it which make it easy to apply and sooo smooth. I appreciate you !
It mainly comes down to what works the best with your skin and hair. I do highly recommend having a healthy rotation of all viscosities to cross train your beard
@@DanCBearded Thanks for getting back to me. I have a new oil that seems much thicker than my others. I will experiment and make sure to rotate. Keep up the good work, your videos are quality.
Decided to pick up some Chicago combs after watching this and being fed up with my old one. What a world of difference 10/10 recommended. I can also say bahawat has been my go to for the past few months. Have seen amazing results from their products. Thank you Dan!
Unfortunately most kits are low quality and found on places like Amazon. My recommendation would be to be a company from this list and get all the products you need from them, in a way making your own kit
@@DanCBearded thanks for the response, I did buy the Viking Revolution kit you reviewed a couple years ago, not bad for the money but definitely need something with a little more quality.
I'm sensitive to strong scents, and I like as natural as possible products, which oil, balm, and butter do you guys recommend the most? I'm not opposed to lightly-naturally scented products. Thank you.
@@DanCBearded Thank you, I also wanted to ask; Does conditioning your beard really make a different if you're using oil and then butter and balm anyway? Does that extra step of conditioning make a big difference?
@@CanineArachnid it does for most medium and long beards. It’s totally different than those other products and can really help detangle and make the beard softer
I use Live Bearded products. I love their 1880 scent. It kind of has a vanilla and cocoa butter smell that lasts all day. Not overpowering, but subtle. I use the oil, butter, and wash. I haven't tried the conditioner yet because I don't feel I need it. As my yeard gets a little longer, I'll probably try the conditioner too. The shipping is free when you spend $50 and it arrives within 3 days.
I highly recommend Whiskey n Hardtack bar soap. It’s by far my favorite bar soap. I just received my Chicago comb, and can’t wait to try it. It arrived today with the rest of my Beard Octane order.
Excellent rundown of some of my favorite products. Beard Octane oil and butter my go-to for daily use. When I need to change it up a little, I really like the way Bahawat oil and butter seem to reset my beard. Also, the Live Beared wash and conditioner lines, I couldn't agree with you more.
So unfortunately I haven’t tried any products from WnH yet. Is their liquid wash more of a daily wash or more stripping? If you answered I apologize I must have missed I that part.
It’s been almost a year of following your channel and buying products. After watching this video I realized I already have almost all the products you talked about. The rest were are my wish list. Great video as always.
Hey Dan. New to the beard scene. A quick question I have is can you use different products from different companies? What I mean is do companies often use similar ingredients where you could use certain products from different brands. Fantastic beard my guy!

Love that there are a bunch of products that I use. Love the grey line from copper john’s and I’m hooked on Weatherbeard. Weatherbeard was one of my go to’s before, but the new formulation has blown my mind. The crazy part of the community is I’m able to be friends with Tyson and Cory
I just purchased a lot of stuff from Beard Octane based on your advice over several videos, I figure their entire line of products is a good starting point for me after only having a beard for a few months now, and only experiencing products I find at my local stores like Honest Amish/Every Man Jack, which I think are good, I'm just ready to try something a step-up.
I'm curious how to keep a collection of products fresh as long as possible for both opened (broken seal but closed/capped container) and sealed containers. There's so many scent options and different brands with a variety of their own qualities, it's difficult to keep all of ones favorites stocked up and fresh. Is refrigeration recommended/neccessary? Does Dan C.(or another trusted "Beard Wizard") have a video on this topic that I haven't seen? Thanks for your time and any information you can offer!

Nice, I gotta try the Ginger Jamboree!
My man, I appreciate it!!
So many great companies and top shelf owners too. I imagine making a video like this is so tough. No more Tropical Storm 😢 but I’m ecstatic to see Command Mack though, as we worked tirelessly on it. Thank you, sir for including The Bearded Mack.
Thank you Chris!! Tropical storm is still riiiight there!
Devoted would be my pick but that’s just me. Very excited to have Athena BeardedMack in my oils n butters as I have a medium size collection/products I love and use that are not to just collect fir a shelf. I buy from about 5-7 companies because I buy what works fir me I’m not a reviewer and out of my 5-7 companies w/56 combos in my Arsenal BeardedMack I’m so happy and honored you are part of my beard growing beard health journey
Another great video Dan! Thank you so much for all the content. I’m planning on ordering the whiskey hardtack bar. Which one scent should I try 1st?
Snake venom!

Thank you brotha!
What a huge honor to make the list Dan! 🙏 thank you for all of your support throughout the years brother. In the words of Mr Healthy Bearded “that butter is OD smooth”. Thanks for the help in getting the formula just right 🔥
It is fantastic!

Awesome video as always Dan, thank you! Great presentations of making very useful information entertaining for all.
On this list, my favorite products that I’ve tried have been the Live Bearded wash & conditioner and the Whiskey N Hardtack beard oil. All outstanding.
That is awesome to hear, thanks Sean!
I have been anxiously waiting for this video since summer started lol
I hope it was helpful and didn't disappoint!
What do u think about the new company that whiskey and hardback merged to? Is the products still same quality?
Truly great stuff. Check out all the info here: ruclips.net/video/WlEpIHYjjPQ/видео.html
whats your take on coconut oil? Is it bad for your skin? after all the beard oil is supposed to reach your skin! I just bought some stuff following your vids, great content!
Normal coconut oil is not great for the skin, and yes beard oil is supposed to go to the skin
I really appreciate seeing this before the launch of Black Friday sales. I'm pumped ... great timing!!
That was the plan!! Let everyone plan ahead of time
@@DanCBearded As you said, it's Beard Season :D
Great video Dan. Cool to see the new companies coming out swinging with some really great products. As well as the established companies holding their position with new products. It's a great time to have a beard.
Thank you Rob, and it is wild to think about having a beard now as compared to even just 10 years ago. Totally different game! Options and competition are great
“It’s a great time to have a beard” should be on a Sam C T Shirt design!!!!
Great info and analysis, thank you. Just a little surprised you had nothing from Beard Baron. I haven’t found a competitor that comes close to their long lasting scents, any recommendations for a long lasting scented oil, butter or balm?
Love beard baron but just didn’t have any scents this year that I kept having to come back to. They were on the list last year!

FANTASTIC feedback!!
Awesome brother! Thanks for taking the time to do this video!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Dan C, thanks for the overwhelming info! Being from Israel it makes most of the products you mentioned either inaccessible or very expansive (for example, just the shippment from beard octane would cost me almost 30$).
What are your best companies on amazon to look for?
Love the channel and general approach, thank you for the time and effort you put into this comunity!

I truly love your advice on my beard journey I have shared your videos with my wife and she is on board with my passion thank you again
Beard is absolutely for both! ruclips.net/video/tdwsacmeOaw/видео.html
Here is an example of my routine: ruclips.net/video/IDcwx7osYHA/видео.html
How long do you leave Beard Octane's conditioner when in the shower until you wash it out?
Just the length of time it takes to wash my body. I would say 2-4 minutes
@@DanCBearded Awesome thanks!
I’m just starting my beard. What would you recommend to start and help growth? Oil,washes etc brands?Thank you for your time and help!
That is awesome to hear!
Awesome video Dan! Glad to see I have most of those products and companies, good to know I'm using the best around, thanks!
Thanks Bob! I always appreciate seeing your name in the comments and livestreams!
Awesome comment, thank you!!
Thanks Dan, I see a couple new things that I need to try.
Awesome!! Thanks Dave, and good morning Diane! We head out tonight for our last camping trip of the year. Winterizing after
@@DanCBearded have a great time!
Thank you Donald
Excellent video! Thanks so much for sharing your opinions and experiences with these products. It can be overwhelming if you're new to products, so many of them sound/look good based on the label but might have sketchy ingredients or just be poorly/quickly/cheaply produced.
Very very true!
My all time beard oil and butter is BAHAWAT
Thank you Dan for turning me into this company, the black seed oil is a game changer for real
My beard is softer then ever and their oil feels amazing in beard.
I love that company, that is great to hear!
Hi Dan. What are the advantages/disadvantages of light/thick viscosity oils? Do thicker oils make it easier to style, by weighing the hairs down?
It mainly comes down to what works the best with your skin and hair. I do highly recommend having a healthy rotation of all viscosities to cross train your beard
@@DanCBearded Thanks for getting back to me. I have a new oil that seems much thicker than my others. I will experiment and make sure to rotate. Keep up the good work, your videos are quality.
Thanks for making this video! I just starting to grow a beard so knowing that using all these products does help it stay healthy is a good thing.
Absolutely!
Decided to pick up some Chicago combs after watching this and being fed up with my old one. What a world of difference 10/10 recommended. I can also say bahawat has been my go to for the past few months. Have seen amazing results from their products. Thank you Dan!
I love your "best of" videos; thank you for putting in the time and effort to make these!
Thank you Tyler!
Love these recommendation videos, however I’m so indecisive when it comes to individual products, do you have any suggestions for kits?
Unfortunately most kits are low quality and found on places like Amazon. My recommendation would be to be a company from this list and get all the products you need from them, in a way making your own kit
@@DanCBearded thanks for the response, I did buy the Viking Revolution kit you reviewed a couple years ago, not bad for the money but definitely need something with a little more quality.
Agreed fully! Good starter kit but certainly better quality out there
Awesome, any companies that you’ve tried and loved the full lineup?
I'm sensitive to strong scents, and I like as natural as possible products, which oil, balm, and butter do you guys recommend the most? I'm not opposed to lightly-naturally scented products. Thank you.

If you want unscented, then go with their “neutral”

Thank you for taking out the time to do that.
My pleasure!
It feels like ive been waiting a lifetime for this 😢 thanks a lot Mr Dan C

I highly recommend Whiskey n Hardtack bar soap. It’s by far my favorite bar soap. I just received my Chicago comb, and can’t wait to try it. It arrived today with the rest of my Beard Octane order.
Thanks Dee!
Thank you Bill!
Thanks Bill!
So unfortunately I haven’t tried any products from WnH yet. Is their liquid wash more of a daily wash or more stripping? If you answered I apologize I must have missed I that part.
Their liquid if more of a daily wash as well, and their bar soaps are more stripping

Hey Dan. New to the beard scene. A quick question I have is can you use different products from different companies? What I mean is do companies often use similar ingredients where you could use certain products from different brands. Fantastic beard my guy!

Awesome feedback, and so true!
Besides the application, what is the difference between the WnH liquid and the solid? Thanks for your time.
The solid wash is more gentle, less stripping
@@DanCBearded Thanks for the response. Is that because of the cocoa butter? Doesnt that work as conditioner?

Hey is it okay if I use live bearded straight up wash/conditioner but then use beard octane Jamboree oil?
Absolutely! Nothing wrong at all
I just purchased a lot of stuff from Beard Octane based on your advice over several videos, I figure their entire line of products is a good starting point for me after only having a beard for a few months now, and only experiencing products I find at my local stores like Honest Amish/Every Man Jack, which I think are good, I'm just ready to try something a step-up.
