    A great shave Johan!! Boom Shaka Laka is a naughty position name?? Hmmmmm I haven’t heard that in bed before… usually all I hear is “that’s it?” Hahahaa. I like to live dangerously, I use Feathers or Wizamets in my half blade DE’S… wicked sharp and smooth! Have a great day my friend!

    Always my go to DE blade, never had any problems with Astra green. Nice horse hair brush. I must be the only wet shaver that has never tried tabac soap, got to give it a go.

    I use Lord Saloon Super Stainless blades that are already cut in half. They work really well for me. When I'm done shaving with the shavette, I take the blade out, dry it. The 2 arms that hold the blade do separate so they can be cleaned and dried. Flip the hinge up, and use your fingernail to separate the 2 arms at the end where the blades goes, and slide them apart. I hope that helps! 👍
    Have a good one man!

    I just used the exact same gear including the blade. Only thing missing was the zenith brush. Got a laugh out of the boom Shaka A Laka which got me wondering, if that statement causes the bots to review the video longer, perhaps that in conjunction with horse in the title may have really caused the bots to worry 😆 great shave Johan! Always love the channel. I use Astras almost exclusively in my Parker shavette. Yes blades are very personal. We all have different beard and skin types. Blades with platinum coatings are what I seem to get along well with. Astra has been my go to with shavettes and DE razors. Treet Platinums are another.

    All badger hair for any kind of brush comes from China now. Badgers are bred and raised as a food source in China so they are not killed just for their hair.
    I take my shavette down clean it then put the blade back in and close it back up. Nice shave.

    Hi Johan. Was just flicking through some of your videos, came across this one. I have also got this razor. Used it last night because I have sent my straight razors for honing. I think that any blade you like using in your DE razor will work. I'm currently enjoying Rapira. Swedish Supersteel blades. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

    Blade choice is really personal, but most people agree on a few common choices being quality. Astras actually dont work in a shavette for me because it isnt the sharpest, which means i have to use more pressure than my skin would like to get through the hair, but they are one of my favorites in a DE. My go-to shavette blades are Gillette Silver Blues and Personna Israeli Reds.

    Great shave johan. I think some DE blades that are universally enjoyed are Personna platinum chrome(often called "Reds"), Gillette Nacet, Gillette Platinum, and Gillette Silver Blue.

    Nice shave Johan, I used Bluebeard's Revenge blades and Wilkinson sword Gillette blades. I didn't like Derby or made in West Germany blades. RIP dishwasher 😂.
    Have a great evening.

    I have that shavette and agree it's a good shaver. Interestingly got a similar one but the handle is plastic and lighter and that one is a cutter, not shaver. Astras SP are good for me, Bic and Nacet are sharper.

    Do you have a Focus Slim? While it is very non-traditional I think it is pretty cool. As for DE blades I think it is very much a personal preference, and in my limited experience blades preform differently in different razors. For example I like the Astra Green in the Henson razor, but not in the EJ DE89. Stay whet my friend.

      Hey Mike. Thanks for the blade advice. No I don't own a Focus Slim but I borrowed one from Frank Strömberg. I enjoyed shaving with it, but I don't like the look of it.

    I can understand the appeal of a straight razor, but I don't follow the idea of using a DE blade in a shavette. How is that not harder than using a DE blade in a DE razor? Fun to try I guess. Good joke by the way!

    • @Shave_n_Butcher
      @Shave_n_Butcher  3 года назад

      Well I don't really use DEs so for me, shavettes is to change things up from using straights.
