I just took her out for her first gear drive test drive. I have the V1 Voyager. Wow. Feels like a whole nother beast. I never got her up to full throttle. Just. Wow.
looks really cool I'm still more into the flexibility of belts but its a really cool thing for people that want to configure it once and run it with minimal maintenance
As always, an excellent video with very valuable information. The Gear Drive is interesting and like everything it has its advantages and disadvantages. I think the almost 0 maintenance is a very good reason. All the best!!!
I wish I could send my Ecomobl ET, its not turning on. I have a brand new battery and ESC for it, I installed them but I'm not a pro at taking apart boards and putting them together. I love riding them though. I would pay you bro, you really know what your doing when it comes to electric skateboards.
You are welcome I have been watching your videos for the past few years already, from the earlier experimental electric boards you started making... to all the commercial boards out there you had review. Very good very professional👍🏼.감사합니다
Hey Kami! Thank you for an amazing video and for the DIY information, I'm thinking of buying some ultra X Pro trucks from Tynee for a DIY build. Does the gear drive system fit the tynee ultra X pro trucks? Thank you 🙏🏻
very well manufactured gear system. Also the sealing. Just have fear the grease will be out of the gear in some time and be next to the gears. A system that brings the grease back into the gears would be helpfull. Or it needs to be opened to put in grease again.
Fantastic review, crashed my Voyager when small stick jammed in belt at 43 kmh, had to replace deck so super keen for this! Looks very high quality, just like your content! Would I need to buy the full kit or just the gearbox using my motors & trucks? THANKYOU!! :)
*Another build/assembly video* 🤩 I think I want those cable connector holders for my Flow modification 😂 after changin to thinner risers. Don't need it but I want 😂😂 Looks better than my normal connector holders. Really does sound like a mini jet engine 😲 Great to see gear drive on this classic boosted form factor. I still love belt drive though lol but wow, you can use this gear drive with 85mm cags 🤩
If you lived next door, I would have knocked on your door and put a connector holder in your hand lol. Yeah, the drive noise of this GearDrive sounded exceptionally good and was a little different from other GearDrive sounds. And as you say, it's the only gear drive that can be mounted on the front of a truck, gearing that can be mounted on a classical boosted-style board. It's also the only gear drive available for 85mm cagus thanks bro :)
I've been running my Voyager belt-drive since I got it. Another problem, specifically with belt and gear choices is..... There is too limited motor movement to properly accommodate the correct tension! My "small gear" with the correct belt is almost at full motor "extension" when the belts new. By the time the belt is "broken in" I can't get enough tension IN the belt for it to be tight enough! At which point, I can't even use the same belt with the next gear size up, as NOW I can't get enough slack on the motor to get it on! Or, for the "largest" gear, the change the wheel mounts on it {so you need a completely DIFFERENT model of wheels entirely!} but you still come into the same tension issue! THIS is where I have lost-snapped the most amount of my belts!
This one : 2.4 gear ratio(Good top speed even in 12s battery configurations), small volume for smaller diameter wheels to use Acedeck: 2.7 gear ratio (Powerful torque due to relatively large gear ratios than meepo),So, It is not difficult to use a relatively large wheels
It seems impossible because the motor specifications of Envy and Voyager are different. If the motor specifications are different, the amount of power consumed is different, so it is difficult to perform well even if it is replaced.
I like that too :) Actually, as far as I know, customs clearance is difficult in China if grease is applied. The reason was that grease is oil-based and can cause a fire. So other companies have found it difficult. But I don't know how Meepo did it

the sound of this particular gear drive is amazing
I agree and I liked it.
it sounded more like an electric car :)
I always admire the work of others, but also the workmanship of the manufacturers too. Thanks for opening it up.
Also, the sound is perfect.
Right. These days, it is felt that manufacturers are also trying to show consumers a lot of things.
Thank you for watching :)

I keep coming back for the sound😂

I think so too :)
Thank you for watching.
Great presentation! Definitely helped me with the comparisons too!
Thank you for watching too :)
I have to give it to Meepo for making this a very easy swap for someone who isn't too confident. Thank you for the in depth review as usual 😀
Thank you for watching too, bro :)

Hi~ there
No, they don't match. The bolt location of the motor mount is different.
@@KAMiJUINs Thank you so much for checking :)

Of course, if you have a Voyager, it would be financially beneficial to only replace the gearbox.
Like always a mega info video my friend, thank you
Thank you for coming, Brother :)

Just ordered mine today as birthday gift! I'm hoping to find abec adapter for it however to run 100rovers!
Happy birthday and enjoy your ride :)
Nicee bro, thanks for sharing, I had a few questions and you covered them all here
I'm glad it helped you :)
Thank you as always broooo.
I think these boards should come with this and not something you have to pay a lot for afterwards.
Sounds like you’re just poor
@@mochatheaustralianlabradoo7316what a juvenile comment.
Sounds like I know like Ryanair the companies want to sell a lot of extra afterwards.@@mochatheaustralianlabradoo7316

I think there will be a new voyager comming out with

Nice gear drive
Yeah, It was :)
Looks like it would fit the NLS3 Envy! ill have to compare the measurements you made. 🤞
Make sure to check the size of the motor and the specifications of the motor shaft too :)
Unfortunately you are correct about the motor shaft, it is a smaller diameter for motor shaft to accept the new gear. @@KAMiJUINs
Hey kami, great video as always, I was just wondering what speedometer app you used
Thank you for watching :)
the app name is Speedometer from apple app store
Thank you!
Long time no sée👍
Thank you for coming again :)
How do you compare this to the Acedeck element 2 in 1 gear drive kit?
This one : 2.4 gear ratio(Good top speed even in 12s battery configurations), small volume for smaller diameter wheels to use
Acedeck: 2.7 gear ratio (Powerful torque due to relatively large gear ratios than meepo),So, It is not difficult to use a relatively large wheels
Gear drive is clearly the superior system. I like my hubs for stealth but when i buy a new system it's going to be gear drive.
I also hope you try it next time :)
how is it clearly superior ?
Will this work as a plug and play on the meepo envy?
It seems impossible because the motor specifications of Envy and Voyager are different. If the motor specifications are different, the amount of power consumed is different, so it is difficult to perform well even if it is replaced.
Think it would work on other boards like Backfire?
I explained the specifications of the GearDrive box mount in the video. If you have a backfire, compare to it.
@@KAMiJUINs curious if meepo controllers are close enough to the same
Good review broo 😊👍
Thank you as always, Bro :)
Hey, do you need to change any settings in the remote?
No, just replacing the drive is the end of the process. Nothing needs to be set up.
@@KAMiJUINsthanks!
Thank you
thank you for watching too :)
Are they as good as hubs for coasting downhill?
Wouldn't it be enough?
@@KAMiJUINs 😅 true haha.. on flat then coasting okay compared hub or belt? in between?
Any noticeable difference in battery life?
If you were using a 36T wheel pulley, the range would secure almost the same distance.
is it adaptable on exway x1 max ?
No, I don't think so...
i am sure a breaking will be amazing on this system..
Yeah, that was good :-)
one thing for sure caught my attention was so much grease inside unlike ACEDECK' s boards....so frugal😅
I like that too :)
Actually, as far as I know, customs clearance is difficult in China if grease is applied. The reason was that grease is oil-based and can cause a fire.
