And the reason hunters come in pairs of two is because they are one colony split into too hunters, imagine how cool it would’ve been to have a scene in one of the games, coming out of a forerunner building to see two hunters fighting sentinels, then in rage joining together into one mega hunter placing their armor around them in a more unique way and serving as a boss like halfway through the game
One of THE coolest moments in any Halo game to date. The first time I encountered that moment I fist pumped because I was so excited that I finally got to fight alongside Hunters instead of against them. Even today, when I replay Halo 2, I flame with pride during that scene.

They evidently knew Lekgolo existed as they were catalogued and reseeded by the Forerunners. There's never been a bad Hunter design. They're just more annoying in Halo 5, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. They were definitely more challenging.
Aside from the Elites, the Lekgolo are probably my favorite alien species in Halo. I mean, a literal colony of worms occupying armor (like the Hunters) and becoming a collective consciousness is honestly dope.
In halo 2 I thought the grunts are the only species in support of the sanghelis and then when I heard "Look Arbiter the hunters have come to our aid." I really went emotional 😭
Ngl, I thought the H4 and 5 versions was not only the most aggressive but also most terrifying design… that was until Infinite came in with the most aggressive hunters the franchise has seen
@@MasterHall117namely those damn HVT hunters hidden at the top of the map those two were terrifying H4 hunters weren't that bad from what I remembered, H5 hunters on the other hand were very scary, plus they had a cool animation when you first meet them and they had all the mechanical changes like snacking away grenades and having more intricate melee range attacks Infinite had a few different types, there were the HVT hunters i already mentioned, there were the blue ones at the spire that were pretty on par with H5 hunters, I feel like i remember at least one or maybe a pair that were red in a different spot on the map, and then there were the standard silver and red banished hunters in that one indoor fight arena which was absolutely too small for a hunter encounter lmao quite a bit of variety all of which were tough I think Halo CE or 3 had hunters that were push overs, as long as you didn't get back smack meleed by one, they got stunned/animation locked by plasma grenades

The fact that Hunters are not actually one being but a mass collective of these tiny worms is actually impressive. The size of the Hunters in comparison to the worms used to make these hulks, is genuinely astounding
Hunters are just consistently done well, a future halo game should make spartan armor based off the hunters design like how the Achilles armor i think it's called was the first in lore armor made with elites i think

Just little details like having a different number/type of eyes or different shading, would make encounters feel even more unique.

They can kill me so I have to actually exhibit skill in close combat with them cuz it only takes one good swipe on the heroic difficulty and I’m as good as dead. If your gonna box a hunter you gotta be evasive and once you know the attack patterns it’s really fun to beat them down with an empty energy sword as a fist pack. Just watch the cannons sometimes they’ll get pissy and shoot you at point blank.

These guys are the best especially when lots of marines and vehicles are around. Their melee and ranged attacks send stuff flying all over the place.
