I had the immense pleasure yesterday of discovering and learning that the Messerschmitt brand had not only made planes but also sewing machines and especially 3-wheeled motorcycles! so yesterday in Ozoir la Ferrière in France, I had the pleasure of seeing this original motorcycle for the first time! superb invention!!! I found the idea of being able to ride dry to be really good! but above all what catches the eye is finding the cockpit of an airplane with 2 seats, it's really great! Congratulations again to the inventor!
I was thinking about this one during the week and how it wouldn't be great in the rain, and making a "bubble" top would be hard and expensive, but what about the canopy on a world war II style Messerschmitt bf 109e4? That's made using mostly flat panels, there would be 3 bends and all 3 bends are not complicated, they a single bend in 1 direction, and then you even get to have windows you can slide open and closed. And its still from a Messerschmitt, just that other one.
I think there are even 2 of them at the war museum next to Joburg zoo that you can get close to for a good look, I think the crashed one outside has no canopy but I'm pretty sure there is another brown one hanging from the roof inside. They also have a ME262, but I don't remember what its canopy looks like.
Your skills are outright impressive. Alass you had to divert to non-Messerschmitt suspension parts. Blowing a large canopy from Perspex, like one for a glider, is costly, even if you had a mould.
Not really a restoration, but still an amazing achievement. Would have been nice to have some kind of top in case of bad weather. The suspension, steering, brakes and control cables are still a mystery to me.
@@BroughBuilt now do a morgan 3 wheeler...beautiful fabrication with the english wheel. How positive is the steering ? I would be tempted to put a 400cc scooter engine in for smoothness. Love your work , a craftsman is always good to watch and learn from. Viel glück !
@@associatedblacksheepandmisfits steering was horrible but got it fixed with some adjustment. I have a plan to build one with 400 or larger which should be an awesome build. But at this moment my dream is to build a Benz patent-motorwagen if I build a three wheeler again

It could definitely be an option. And I haven't seen anyone do that kind of roof on them before so it would be a first🤔
