I recommend finger food or snacks at festive bazaar but not a main course food while hungry because they can get quite expensive as the rentals for these stalls are high. However there are cheaper ones at bazaar in local housing areas. You can find a shop near the mosque by the road called Zamzam which is also a recommended spot.
13:47 Ashes Burnnit used to have a stall in New York at Urban Hawker NYC. Sadly they had to close the outlet down. 12:56 The busker you came across there, they are brothers and they are well known singers in the region, Singapore and Malaysia.
It was nice of the both of you to be respectful of ramadhan, but in Singapore, you definitely can eat during ramadhan if you’re not muslim! Also, the foods for bazaar and restaurants are expensive here so locals usually eat at hawker centres. And i agree more expensive than the UK! 😅
yeah, everything more expensive in singapore..but hey,as a tourist been both side of the country ,now u know..as far i known, even sgporean goes to JB bazaar for better value of money spend in food...there's alot more than not eating in front of fasting people as kinda gesture to respect the tradition & challenge to it..the challenge of fasting is more to tempatation rather than just food, drink itself..poor eve cant find apam balik sg version, else she could experience both world tasted like, ..
We have heard that JB bazaar is so much cheaper! And Eve was real sad that she couldn’t find her beloved Apam Balik! She loves it so much 😂 thanks for watching the video, we really hope you enjoyed it 😆
love this video guys! welcome to Singapore! Anyway Kombucha is a fermented drink, so it can contain alcohol for some brands... However there's differing thoughts abt this.
Kinda sad looking at Malay Singapore culture, so many middle east influence or even indian Singapore was once a southeast Asia Malay country, what went wrong?
This was the Arab quarter specifically so a lot more Middle Eastern influence will be seen here. It’s a very interesting city for the mix of cultures. We love Singapore and we love Malaysia too! We’ve spent a lot of time in Malaysia this year and can’t get enough of the food, the people and the culture. It’s the best. Singapore is also good for having everything together in 1 place 😆 thanks for watching the video 🙏🏻
Err you do know that Singapore is quite unique in which there are two places a Malay/Muslim can go to, to get stuff. If you do not know, Kampung Gelam/Arab Street is basically the face of the Malay/Muslim community. It’s where tourists venture and immerse themselves in the culture. Reason why the area is very touristy with restaurants and souvenirs. But if you want to see the real facet of the community, then you should go to the heart of it which is Geylang Serai. That’s where traditional Malay culture still lives and where most Malay/Muslim gather, buying provisions and others
This is really interesting! Thank you so much for sharing, this is a really good insight. We will check these places out! That the reason we like posting these videos because w always learn so much from the people watching! :) @@raspberry_scareglow
Hmm will you bring pork cutlets to a Shabbat potluck or wear shoes inside a Japanese home for clickbait next? Please no more massive faux pas to make tourists look bad 😂
