I was in England 2 years ago to attend a wedding in Somerset. My wife and I are originally from Barnsley but have lived in Canada since 1980. I can highly recommend a meal the 'Boatmans Rest' in Worsbrough Dale, Barnsley. Put it on your list, you won't be disappointed. I was amazed to see how much the downtown area of Barnsley has changed over the years. We spend six weeks in Spain every year to escape the Canadian winter. I might bump into you in Benidorm next March and buy you a Guinness. Cheers.
Hi Brendan, Thanks for that buddy, as it happens we will be heading to Barnsley next to try the alleged best fish and chips around. It will be the start of the great Benidorm giveaway pal. I’ll look into the Boatmans Rest pal and maybe treat Mrs.Yorkshire. It’s on the list buddy !
Wow, didn't know you were a Kilnhurst lad, I was born there and still live a stones throw from the church. The tiny village of Kilnhurst has a fascinating history, I can remember the coal mine, the brick works and Thomas Hill engineering where all the NCB railway engines were assembled, Victoria Street Co-Op was spread out over several buildings and sold everything. The pubs have all closed and it's looking a bit sad these days, when the river floods it's carnage.
Love it i worked abit in Mexborough when i lived in Doncaster ,abit ruff town but typical of every high street in the uk they are all dying slowly due to change in consumers shopping habits and lack of investment from the councils which is a shame .cracking vlog buddy loved how short and to the point you was at the start of video with that carling at 8 in morning character 😂😂😂
Lol.. yeah he was a bit of a daft fella.. Shame about how the town is now mate, but it’s still not bad for a few swift ones. The folk are generally nice enough and welcoming.
I went to every shop in Mexborough i used to do business services to shops ie card machines gas electric broadband, new signage and maintenance, didn't have any joy with anyone but had a good natter with the guy in the mobilty shop he was a nice geezer@AbroadYorkshire
@@Thefatfoodiemcr yeah, the vast majority are genuine, lovely people there pal, same as anywhere really. It’s a misconception that the poorer places in the UK are rough as heck and folk are out looking for trouble. I’m hoping to show more of the same during the UK tour. It’d be nice if people watch and get out to explore a few of the places coming up and see for themselves mate.
Hi Shaun great to see you back hopefully you and Mrs Yorkshire are feeling better.i can really sympathise with Mrs Yorkshire as I had a works accident I fell 45 feet a crane knocked me off a platform working for British steel which I have over the years had multiple operations plus hip and knee replacements it knocks your confidence.respect as always pal.
Cheers Kevin, always a pleasure to hear from you pal. We are both OK now thanks, the Benidorm Bronchitis was a nightmare though TBH. I’ll pass on your kind words to Mrs. Yorkshire.
Glad to have you back on home turf Shaun😊..weird to see you in that tha coat😂..still enjoying the content tho matey. I always like seeing the different parts of the U.K. Keep trekking well my friend😊👍🏽👍🏽...loved the bloke who said "do you have permission to film"🤣🤣..Shame about the Crown Inn😮..would expect these businesse to want to be promoted..but i suppose the quality and price of the food explains it..their loss matey!
Hi Chrisstoppani, Good question, I taught Construction based subjects, i.e Bricklaying and multi-trade from 14-16 year olds in schools as well as post 16 and adults in college and private tuition, as well as maths and mandatory Tutorial subjects.
Eyup Benjamin, always a pleasure to hear from you pal. Weymouth sounds good to me. It’s a place I’ve never visited pal. Drop me an email at some stage and we can organise it pal.

Eyup pal. I think Mrs. Yorkshire has been there before. They do some good stuff there mate as you say, and quite cheap. We have a load of kebab meat from there in the freezer that we use on BBQ days etc.
That is a massive thing I miss about living in Yorkshire and the guy in there is a really nice guy too ,used to save a rite fortune on food shopping @AbroadYorkshire @@AbroadYorkshire
One thing I don't miss about living there is when I used to go in a chippy and ask for a chip muffin they would look at me like am backward and say don't you mean breadcake 😂😂
@@Thefatfoodiemcr 🤣🤣🤣 OMG.. I take it you didn’t know a muffin is something completely different up here, apart from being a type of cake and a 50’s TV mule.. 100% breadcake… I feel a debate coming on..lol..
Ahh mate bit of a change area welcome back to uk, sorry to hear about Mrs Yorkshires accident just tell her it's better to be mysterious 👍 as for the new debate 🤔 lea & perrins on top of cheese/ toast 😛. Keep knocking the videos. Nut case asked you if you had permission to film but he was filming you 😂 All the best to you both & tipy toes
Eyup Andy, I know.. what a fruit cake he was… Never tried Lea and Perrins in my life. I have the impression it’s a bit like the old Worcester Sauce Walker Crisps which should have been banned ! maybe? I might be totally wrong.
Scotland 🏴 still part of Uk 🫣 lol thought you might come up to Scotland as well he he he I’m only kidding just saying hello 👋 I’m waiting December like we used to wait for Santa Claus 🎅😂😂😂
It’s the law to visit Scotland mate.. It really is a beautiful place. It’s like Yorkshire on Steroids ! We will be hitting the road soon and will be heading to Aberdeen at some point with a few nice stops in between there and Moffat, as well as Stranraer of course when we head back over to the Emerald Isle. Weather permitting !
