I've been a Spurs fan for almost 50 years, so I've lived that period to the full, and how could you not love Jason Williams? It was a show within a show.
The speed and accuracy of his passes were some of the most exciting and amazing things to see in basketball he is definetely among the top 3 of all time passers but #1 in excitement that's for sure.
Accuracy? These are highlights. They don't show all the times he tossed it to the 3rd row. But mostt exciting for sure. Reason why he was traded for Bibby.

Best handles, passer, and court awareness for an NBA PG ever in my opinion. There might be better ones in street ball, but none of them could make the NBA, what to speak of having the balls to do those moves on the big stage.
I can remember JWill White Chocolate and Randy Moss playing at Belle elementary basketball courts during there thing in high school, I knew they would make it as pros then, great memories, and I'm a lot older then them. God has Blessed them to be who they are today
@Matuscara ت you can’t be serious? There’s no home court advantage without fans. Fans, mascots, halftime show’s, there all part of the game. It’s barely a basketball game in the bubble, looks like a run at LA fitness.
His passes are all on line, with strength on them, that dude had to have been strong. His court vision is just amazing, no look pass is hard enough, because if your team mates aren't paying attention it's a turnover or out of bounds. AMAZING
"If you don't like that, you don't like NBA Basketball!" That's my favorite Jason Williams call of all time. For at least that one play, Williams wasn't regarded as the best White player, or even the best Point Guard in the NBA. In that moment, Jason Williams WAS Basketball.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Nobody even comes close to him as a passer. Just extraordinary! Kuddos to those guys running the passing lanes and getting in the right spots to make it all work. Moving without the ball is a skill. They were all just so smooth. Who wouldn’t want to play with Jason Williams? Geez. That’s legendary stuff! Patrick😊👍🏻👍🏻
You're absolutely right. Moving without the ball is a GREAT skill that many players just never get. Moving the ball around the floor simultaneous to players moving around the floor is not as simple as it seems. That's why the Triangle Offense is one of the epitomes of getting players open for passes. In real-time the players read the defense and make the right decisions as to where and whom to pass the ball to get the best shot. It requires high IQ players. It's like taking the basic two-man give-and-go and multiplying the interactions and possibilities by ten.
Jason Williams had the BEST handles in history, he was doing this in the NBA against the best players on the planet. This aint no And1 mixtape, this was against NBA level killers. 🔥💯👍👍💪
Listen to the crowd noise when he does what he does. Just take a moment to listen carefully. It's just a slightly different noise than anything else you get at an NBA game. An absolute joy.
That’s a ludicrous suggestion lol but ok Jason Williams is better then Allen Iverson was? Foh and nobody respects J-Dub more than me, all the love and respect for that guy helluva player but better then Isiah Thomas? Lmao 😂
They said here in WV that he could take a ball, pick a block on the wall and hit it 100% from 20 ft behind his back. Dude was a legend. He and Randy Moss playing hs basketball were some of the most entertaining games I’ve ever watched
As a floor General, Williams was dominating, his ability to shoot the 3 and create plays made him impossible to ignore. This gave those who played with him endless opportunity.
You can tell where some players got some of their moves from. Rondo, CP3 and in Europe Calathes, Jasikevicius. Also Peja's crazy behind the back pass, White Chocolate influenced the game a lot!
I think it’s even more amazing that his teammates are ready to catch these passes
The way Shaq tells it you put your hands out and call for the ball, and it just gets there.
One of thoe guys who you have to just play with your hands (at least) half way up and ready to catch a pass at basically any time.
Right! Cause I would have got smacked in the face a couple of times lol
Right that ball would be bouncing off my face and chest constantly lol
I bet him passing like that helps keep his teammates very awake and paying attention to all parts of the game
