Congratulations, Sallie! That’s a magnificent machine! Can’t wait until you show us what products you roll out. And, not everyone is lucky to have a supportive, helpful John. Best wishes and much success for both of you and your businesses.
I highly recommend getting the 8" exhaust and cutting the vinyl away so the exhaust can be sealed to the plywood and then get some J channel to pretty up around it. also take the caulking out from the bottom that he put on. You want to only seal the top and sides so if there is any moisture that gets behind it then it has a place to drain. Great video!
This was so exciting to watch!! I love the possibilities you can create with these machines which I dream of owning someday. For now... I will live this dream through you!!❤ Can't wait to see what all you create with this...which I am sure will be pure awesomeness❤❤ Your husband is so handy!! All the best in your journey!!
My 3 year old granddaughter heard your music and had to come and investigate your video and saw you unboxing and said "yay! They did it! Now we can go swimming in it!!" 😂😂 I had to explain to her that it isn't a swimming pool but a laser cutter! I think she was disappointed! Lol
Omg Sallie…. I was literally screaming in my house! Lol. I was so excited just watching you guys and it isn’t even mine 🤣. You two are such a great team! My little pup was looking at me like “why are you yelling at your phone?”! Absolutely can NOT wait to see all your crafts and I already have an idea for what custom sign I want you to make for me 😊! Yay! ❤️
Hey Sallie, Thank you so much for sharing and showing your New Laser. You Love are such an inspiration and I Thank you so much. I know your super busy and wish you great success. If you can ....can you do a tutorial on starting the machine, setting the air assist, and completing a job start to finish? I've watched so many video and need help starting and finishing a job and controlling the air properly for cutting and engraving. Thanks so much in advance.
ahhhh! I've been wanting to get a new laser machine and your video inspire me to just go for it. I just made a payment for my new thunder nova51 machine!!! I can't wait for it to come
NIce video! Might just be the camera angle but my guess was that you were going to roll the laser down the one side that folded down into a "ramp"...maybe a 2" x 4" or whatever size about mid-span as a support.
I have been loving it so far! I was going to reach out to you to thank you for all of your videos! I have been watching so many of them. You are such a great teacher!
Sallie, great video. Currently waiting on a Nova 63. Can you share the info on the upgrade to the air compressor and filter you installed? Thanks in advance.
Does the air intake line (air intake) bring air from the outside in or just pull from the room you are in? If brought in from the outside is it just another hole in the wall away from the exhaust.
My theory on it is go as high as you can. That way you can cut and engrave using less power and at quicker speeds and that is less wear and tear on the tube. I’m running a business so time is valuable. I do mostly cutting, but when I engrave it is as crisp as can be. I’m very happy with my 130. I actually just ordered a second duplicate machine! Either way, you’re going to be very happy. 100 is an excellent machine as well. Congratulations!
@@SimplySallie Yeah, I've decided to go with the 130. That's exciting that your business is doing so well, you all look like you have plenty of room to grow in your workspace, so that's good.
I am looking to buy a machine like this, and I was unsure if I should buy the 100 or 130 versions. I am new to this and would love your opinion. God bless, and I wish you all the best!
Is that a 20 amp circuit that you added that 20 amp receptacle to? I worry that if it's a 15 amp circuit then you're going to have the breaker tripping or overheating the cables.
I can't tell in the video so I'm wondering. Was the outlet that he replaced connected to 12 gauge wire powered by a 20 amp breaker? Many homes are wired with 14 gauge wire (15 amp circuits) and just replacing the outlet would not be in compliance with Thunder Laser's requirements.
Yes it is a 20 amp breaker. No worries, our shop was custom built with a 100 amp service and has a 20 amp breaker on that circuit. Yes 12 gauge wire. My husband used to be a plant electrician so he knows how to do that stuff.
This was a great video, I have the exact same machine coming in about 4 weeks. Would you be able to tell me the height from the floor to the bottom of the round exhaust port? I am trying to get my space setup prior to delivery.
Great video. My only questing is why you decided to orient the machine against the wall this way? It completely negates use of the pass-through doors in the front and back. I guess if you're 100% certain you'll never do a large sheet or a long board that this is okay. But I kind of feel like you limit the scope of your projects by not taking advantage of all the machine features.
It has about 2 ft behind it if we needed, but honestly I never will need to make a piece that large. My machine can hold a huge area inside and a 4 x 8 sheet using the front pass through, so there’s no need to use larger. For what I do in my business, it’s not needed! If I ever had to move it for any reason, I could.
So I used electrical tape to tape my hose onto each side of the inline duct fan, just for that extra seal. But mine is in my house (basement) so you may not need it. Is one dryer vent out enough for that big machine? It doesn’t seem like enough.
Yes it is plenty! It's a large vent. Our machine came with exactly what it needed to vent properly and we've had no issues and it's been sucking all of the smoke out great with no smells.
@@SimplySallie That’s awesome! My vent out is a 6” round hose with wire grids covering the hose, no screens. My hose is pretty long tho. I upgraded to a heavy duty plastic so I can’t cut it. Lol
How big of hole did your husband cut through the wall? If I remember reading the 51/130 comes with an 8" exhaust. Is that the same size you stuck with or was it a 6"? I've got a 51/100 on order right now and just trying to get my garage prepped, but not sure if I want to vent out the side of the garage or up through the roof. Also, could you share which vent you used? Any help for what size you used would be amazing. Thanks!
support.thunderlaserusa.com/support/solutions/articles/65000088790-venting-the-exhaust-from-your-thunder-laser Here is the link of what we went by-the one they recommend from lowes is there! Yes, it is 6 inch vent with an 8 inch hose. The clamp holds everything together nicely. Eventually we will hard plumb it, but for now it works great!
Haha this is how our homes come here as a new build. At the point of this video, we had only lived here a year and haven't painted the garage yet. That's a huge task within itself.
This machine is for my business. I put out a high volume of wood signs, so it didn't make sense for me to get something small. You can cut a lot at once on it.
Can we just all admit we need a Jon in our lives 😂😂 so handy!! This looks awesome
🤣 I am lucky to have him! Thanks so much 🥰

Hey Sallie! Can you suggest a smaller cutter for cutting acrylic? For small things like keychains.
Thunder laser USA has multiple sizes! I highly recommend them.

We installed a mini split which is AC and heat. 😊
Is that about a 20 000 evgraver.
